I recently ordered one and before it arrived I was doing some research on this helicopter and I came across several videos with this problem, this scared me but I had faith that mine would arrive without this defect. Finally it arrived and I made the first flights with caution. The truth is that it flies wonderfully. Even so, I have continued researching and I realized that there are two versions, one that comes with an optical sensor and another that does not. Mine arrived without it and flies beautifully. I think only those that come with the optical sensor have had the problem.

Got one with Optical Flow which I ordered before hearing about the issue. Good thing disconnecting it from the motherboard was pretty easy and so far I've flown mine a few times without the issue occurring. From what I understand optical flow also adds in altitude hold as well which could be the cause of the issue.

mine has the same problem. just two days after i purchased the heli, a problem appeared. i hovered it in our living room and it suddenly yawed to the right at very high speed, collided with the cabinet -- but still ok. Curious what had happened, I hovered it again and, as before, it yawed to the right at very high speed, collided with the concrete wall and had the swash plate assembly broken.
shortly before reading the comments below, i thought the problem lies in the remote control. meaning, a possible mechanical malfunction in the remote control may have triggered the helicopter to yaw to the right at very high speed. i will try to investigate which one is the real cause of the problem. it can be done by using a similar remote control from another C189 rc heli.

Sadly, mine just came in. Completely ignorant of the issues. Decided to give it a quick maiden in my warehouse. Went thru standard procedure per instructions and started rotors manually. Barely tapped the throttle and it shot straight up, yawed left and tore itself up in my warehouse shelfs. Bummer, great looking rc.

Sorry to hear this. Added pre-flight checks now include using a long ruler to place through the skids and held with the foot then spooled up to see if there is noticeable controls including throttle. Who did you buy the heli from? Don't give up repairs are pretty simple just also include a new main board that comes with gyro. I got mine from Ali- through official RC ERA Store. When the weather gets better I will do it's second flight and hope to get some video to post.

@@jwoocrew me too, directly from rc era... same color even. Theyve actually been good to deal with. Couldnt send me the batteries I ordered, so they offered extra rotor blades and a body set instead, unprompted. Ironically I'll need both now 😂 I'm going to contact them about the board and see if they'll send me one.

@@jwoocrew RC Era is sending me a new board on the house. Hopefully this board fixes it. I have to say their customer service is pretty solid!

@@sr20detized Well at least you went through RC ERA themselves when purchasing the heli. I went through Aliexpress's / Ace RC Store and they do not stand behind anything.

Hi, when this first happened to you, you pressed the stop motor button? If yes, the heli was at hight altitude? Where if fell? Had any damage?

    • @jwoocrew
      @jwoocrew  4 месяца назад

Yes, I had no controls the only thing I was able to do was hit the stop button worked as seen on RCSaylors youtube channel. I'm also hearing by turning off the remote it will allow the helicopter to descend much easier than hitting the stop button to where the heli falls out of the sky with props stopped. It was pretty high by the time I reacted to hitting the stop button otherwise it would have flown away due to the wind. fell onto grass but it stripped the main gear, broke the T-tail and some rocked pod plastic damage. I purchased from Aliexpress through Ace RC Store who will argue with you to tell you it's user error. Oh BTW, I ordered replacement parts including a new board with gyro. 1st test flight went well. Will see if it holds up as the original malfunctioned after 10 flights.

@@jwoocrew thanks for the detailed report! When my heli arrives, I will make a filmed maden flight.
I hope the action of turning off RC will trigger its fly safe feature which is probably programmed to land the heli, but at a cost of losing the heli if it does not work, otherwise might save it from a crash.
Another way to test it, is holding the heli while turning it on or even taking off the blades and performing an even a safer test.
I am not sure the last one will work because of the barometer sensor, but it will be the first one to be performed. I will let you know! Cheers

Disconnect optical flow sensor and problem solved just takes a little research..

Hello, this helicopter model does not have an optical sensor. I have the same helicopter and I have the same problem. When trying to fly the helicopter, it accelerates to the maximum and there is no control of the accelerator stick, only by pressing the stop button.

It does this because of the stupid GPS system on it . That happen to 4 of my drones. Also, there alway looking last location. It remembers it and it is trying to fly to it. I hate that gps garbage . I lost to many expensive drones over this issue. Lose complete control of the unit .

Everyone makes fun and says it’s trying to fly back to China to be resold but yeah you may be right. I put a new board in and first 2 flights seemed to be okay for now. Will see what the future brings. When she’s flying it brings me 17 minutes of flying joy!

I experience this with my C186 it's because the altitude hold won't allow the helicopter below a certain height. It makes landing a real sketchy proposition. Once you get to the spot, you have to be ready to hit the auto land, which is impossible because of the buttons location on the transmitter.
