This playoff serie leads to focus a lot on Minnesota and Edwards. This team is builded in a cool way, with great defense. If it wins NBA title, it could lead to a new wind of change in favor of more defense. The NBA have started to evolve in this way after the all star game, so why not ?
This series is also cool because the Wolves uses somme 90' like defensive stuff as double team and rim protection (Towns with help on Jokic, while lettig Gobert make the rim protection job)
Cool to see that again, and cool to see these retro stuff still working on offense and defense.

      This is just not true.
If you look at the Boston Celtics they certainly rely too hard on the 3 and sometimes when they don't hit the 3 they also don't make drives which is crazy as Tatum and Brown are great at making drives. Besides that the 3pt shot is a danger that a team needs to use to create space. If the opponent knows you can't shoot 3's they will close the lane.

Yeah, that's familiar. But then look at ONE play: how he elevated for that defensive block. Who else would do that? Yes. Mr. Jordan. Kobe too. Anthony Edwards is the Man.

Defense wins championships. The Wolves and Nuggets series was great just for that reason, because they were playing "the right way."
During the regular season, the Timberwolves had the best defense "only" allowing 108pts per game. When the playoffs started, suddenly many of the teams never even get into triple digits. The defense switch was suddenly turned on and that has made the playoffs more exciting and meaningful.

as a fellow old-school fan (been watching since 1969-70), i am with you 💯. that was a great series.
i think so was the knicks-pacers series, very competitive and physical, although neither of them is on the level of the wolves and nuggets. the knicks play some fierce defense, tho i don't like their iso-heavy offense. the pacers play a nice ball and player movement offense (lots of assists), but usually a porous defense.
as good as it is to see teams like the nuggets and wolves playing some better ball than has been present of late in the nba, unless the league starts evening out the offense/defense balance (in terms of rules and their enforcement), i don't think much is going to change. because it is a player-centric league now, the upcoming players have to want to play differently. the coaches don't seem to have the authority or balls to make someone like trae young play in an offense like denver's. just my stoned thoughts.... :-)

Now big men want to dribble ( handle the ball, and shoot 3s. Yes to see a 7-footer shoot 3 pointers in insane. Today players don't want much physical contact, without starting a physical altercation,"SORRY IT'S PART OF THE GAME", around the basket (the paint) the game now moves so if you're not in top shape you can have a heart problems. The money these players today are getting they think they own the Coach ,lol. Last on list,( THE REFS) CRAZY 🤔

Need hand checking, no 3 second rule, call travels, call offensive fouls properly, harshly penalize flopping, allow trash talk and taunting a little more 🙏

I really liked this series. I had a feeling from game one that the Timberwolves have just too much depth to lose. As great as AE is it's the big guys that carried them across the finish in game seven. Jokic is the only star on the Nuggets.

As a men that watches NBA without favorites,I think that Wolves were better, but not much better. Denver missed open shots a lot and their two main players gave 69 points in game 7 and all other first and second team players combined for 21 points. So that was problem. And that Jamal and Jokic played 46 and 44 points. No bench.

I think the Mavs/Wolves series is going to 7 as well. The old guard is finally irrelevant and the tide is (thankfully) shifting.

Defense will eventually come back to the game because there will eventually be more players with a passion to win. You need to play well on both ends if you want championships

Nuggets vs Timberwolves was good defense. Mavs vs Timberwolves is defense vs defense.

The series between nuggets and Timberwolves "I LOVED IT ". GAMES OF PAST GOT TIRED OF WATCHING HALF THE TEAM JUST STANDING AROUND AND WATCHING ONE PERSON SHOOT AND NOBODY'S GOING FOR OFFENSIVE REBOUNDS CRAZY

The other team not being able to roll the ball to mid court without any opposition is pretty good to watch, not gonna lie.
