  • With the introduction of the Chevy Trax, the brand now has 2 affordable crossovers in their lineup. While the similarities seem obvious they are only skin deep. The options and packages offered on each make them quite different as may have you seriously considering one over the other.
    With estimated starting prices of these two models at under $27,000 and $33,000, there is also a strong consideration over which is actually "affordable".

    I have 2024 Trax Active and I love it more and more everyday I drive. If you live in low snow areas and don’t need AWD get Trax, pleasure to drive!

    I line in southern Ontario and never needed AWD. I found snow tires is all we need. Love the Trax

      That’s great to hear. I remember before AWD was a must-have feature. Curious what changed that everyone feels they NEED it.

    Just custom ordered a 2024 Trailblazer Activ in the fountain blue. I'm a city dweller that frequently straps a bike to the back to get out of town. I tested both but found the Trailblazer to be more nimble on the city roads. The drive train actually didn't figure much into my decision... but I feel I'll be glad I chose the AWD in the long run!

    I bought the Trax 2 RS in Crimson just like you show here. I love it! I've just uploaded an update about it to my channel. It's a great little sport wagon. The Trax drives almost sporty and always comfortable. I'm averaging 31 mpg but sometimes get 37 mpg. If you don't need AWD that's the one to get.

    I bought the trailblazer. I like it. It’s got good enough speed and it’s comfortable. Chevy definitely did not insulate it at all. With all the window closed there is still a breeze in the car when driving fast. You get what you pay for. It’s not a sports car. To me it’s a good errand car or a perfect car for a young new driver.

    I think its gonna come down to the awd choice for most people. They have been selling the mew trax like crazy. I ended up getting one and love it. If your not gonna get a AWD trailblazer i would get the trax at that point. I have a feeling they are gonna start adding more premium options to the trax and only offer the trailblazer in awd. Making the trax the 2wd option

      I’ve got one in order. Do you still recommend this car after having for awhile? Thanks!

    • @MaNtIcHoRaOfficial
      @MaNtIcHoRaOfficial 8 месяцев назад +1

      I would recommend it. I haven’t had any real issue. I have taken it from boston to new york state and then to Brooklyn and it did just fine despite what seems to be a small engine. The engine performs a lot better than it seems on paper. However i would recommend if you can manage it with the finances to get a extended warranty especially one that increases bumper to bumper. Alot of the tech interior wise like the infotainment systems are all new for the 2023-2024 model years. So hiccups could happen with it being new technology. There is currently a safety recall on models with the driver info display. They have instances where it turns off while driving leaving you with no tachometer. Its a software issue that GM already has a fix for and my guess your be updated already when it arrives however i would just inquire about it. Happened to me only once and came back on after 30secs and never happened again. But thats all stuff you expect from a car with new tech in the first year.

    Trax . Or TrailBlazer? The names state their purpose. Do you want a fun vehicle for the road? Then Traxis your answer. If your fun vehicle is for the trail……well then, TrailBlazer is for you. Wife’s got a Trax LT. I may get a TrailBlazer for ‘25.

    Great review. I do agree the Trax looks pretty good but the AWD on the Trailblazer is probably a deal breaker especially if you're in a winter climate. Only way to know is to see one on person and test drive. I still think this type of vehicle is the type you pull the trigger then regret it the next day thinking you should have gone with the Santa Fe. 🙃

    Trailblazer looks like a crossover SUV and the Trax looks like a Lifted Hatchback or Station Wagon. I own a Trax 1RS and I love my car. Looks , Space, Tech, and I like how it Drives. It’s not a Fast car and to me that makes it fun to drive and having more control on corners with zero to none body roll.

    I have a 23 Trailblazer, and love it. It should be noted that the 1.2 liter engine in the Trax, has a timing belt. The available 1.3 in the Trailblazer has a timing chain. My wife has the Buick Encore GX with the same 1.2 liter engine. The 1.3 engine performs way better, and actually gets better fuel economy.

    I like my 2021 Trax with AWD. But the 2024 Trax with no AWD was a big deal breaker for me. Where I live, we get a lot of snow. I wouldn't be able to back out or pull into my driveway. 😏

      I’m holding out hope that they do a Corvette eRay type situation where it gets an eAWD system on the rear wheels to add traction without the need of a driveshaft (which it wasn’t engineered for). But it’s just a pipe dream.

    I'd like to hear more about the AWD. On demand I understand -- but then is it a full time AWD or does it adapt and only come on based the conditions when you select AWD?

    • @GTGarageTalk
      @GTGarageTalk  9 месяцев назад +3

      The AWD system is selectable through the button on the center console. When activated, the system constantly monitors all 4 of the vehicle's wheels and makes adjustments for maximum traction in a wide range of challenging driving conditions, but it must be turned on by the driver, otherwise it is a FWD vehicle.

    The only thing about the top of the line Trax which I find odd is the fact that there's no optional audio package from any well known company such as JBL, for example, offered that features a subwoofer. Do you think having a powered sub installed into the Trax six speaker set up would be a good move? I hope so. Peace! 🙏♐

    You didn't have the hatch set right on the trailblazer or something wasn't set right. I have a trailblazer and I'm 6ft and don't get as low a clearance under the hatch when it's open like you did. My salesman was 6ft 3 and he had more headroom in the front and back than you showed it to have .

      I guess you missed how the Chevy Trax is only available in front wheel drive, but you can get all wheel drive in the trailblazer. You can also opt between a continuously variable transmission in the front wheel drive trailblazer, or a nine speed automatic in the all-wheel-drive version as well.
