As a Tongan i really appreciate the Samoans still having that traditional way of life and culture and still using the leaves to wrap their palusami. Defenetly appreciate this video, very detailed and i always love eating the traditional foods.
Hi fam I’ve missed you all. This is a wonderful video, the process of making the coconut cream is so interesting and very awesome to watch. Great vid I loved it
Hey guys we are a family of 7 coming to Samoa in January for a 3 week holiday. What would you suggest we put on our must do list that isn’t the usual tourist spots? Love you videos by the way.
Hi all, love seeing these vids from when y'all were in SA. It was making me hungry the whole time though 😅. Great vid, looking forward to watching more later.
We wish we were back in Samoa! We have a lot of older footage that we are continuing to sort through and edit videos from. So this is newly released/edited footage, but it was filmed a couple of years ago while we were in Samoa.
Just dig the coconut in a bit more so it would be easier to push down on it to husk. You can tell by the amount of 'extra' husk left on the coconut when you did it to when he did it, there shouldn't be that much left to clean off. But practice makes perfect so for a newbie you did well.
Most of the food in an umu is vegan. Taro and breadfruit. And then palusami is also vegan. It’s just taro leaves, coconut cream, onions, and salt. And super delicious!
It’s old footage, but not a re-release. This is of a different umu at the same place as another umu video we did. Thanks for coming to watch this one! We loved it!
Miss you Jamily Family. Good to see you guys again. Alofa atu 🥰
