Gotta appreciate the folks who really put the effort into making cool vanilla ships. I really liked the color scheme, it always takes me forever to figure out what colors are going to work on a particular ship.
fl4shb4ck1992 yeah now if only he could ger the outside to look at good. Personally I would smooth it out by filling in some of that negative space while leaving a few others open the way they are.
In some cases I like the exoskeleton look, but this ship just seems too bulky for it. Maybe keep the exoskeleton in the rear but smooth out the front 1/4 I'd say
defiantly better than the last one (leviathan i think), as much as that had a sexy exterior, the interior was pretty sloppy IMO. This one was very nice, although a bit spacious for my taste.
+Jacob Ellinger Might be wise to strip the excess bulk on the exterior and replace some of the underlying layer with heavy armour. Odds are we would still end up with a higher drain on power, but at least the reactors won't get shot out (or worse, the gyros). Of course the ship would probably look like crap, but that's the price we pay for practicality.
This game has infinite potential. I can only imagine this game finished in a couple of years with servers capable of supporting dozens of players and having massive space wars with huge ships letting fighters out of their hangar to fight the enemy fighters whilst many other crew members are doing their best to keep their huge ship afloat repairing it and handling every inch of it. Maaan. I'm so pumped up for the next couple of years now.
Looks like it could be retro-fit as a dropship/drone ship in a combat situation. That downward hanger door is just inviting ships hanging bat style in the bay. Nice looking ship design, cheers LSG for bringing it to our attention.
Hey Aaron it would be awesome if you included something like a destructive test in these reviews. Something where you take a ship (same ship each time) and just shoot it up to test your theories about how the ship works in a battle situation. It would be fun to watch for sure.
+Wwald It's like in the phaser battle video (I don't remember if it was Sages of Arrons) where it sounded like he said "Don't fly away from me you crippled shit".
that's a very solid build. I never can seem to get myself into creative mode, and it'd take ages to build something like that in survival, single player, even with a projector system. I'm currently building a medium sized large ship designed to engage and rip apart the new raiders, but it's been hell producing all the required parts for it. Thankfully, it's finally nearing completion and I will be able to battle test it soon.
I would say the backwardsthruster are acutally not to escape battle situations but to come to a stop as fast as possible. I recently experimented a bit with this kind of thing and if you put a sensor at the front of your ship you can speed up to 30-40m/s deactivate inertiadampers and just let your ship glide through space because it will savefly stop once it detects an astroid or other stuff in it's way. This is really useful while expoloring and looking for randomly spawning ships etc. because you can even take a small ship from your hangar and explore a bit left and right without having to turn your main ship.
It's good but it can destroy itself and not protected at the back; like most ships btw use the crossbow ship it is so cool its a space ship carrier If ur a space engineers player use some more protection you know u never can predict how a space battle can go. Thank you for reading my comment
Geoffrey111995's HD Productions Still all French vehicles have 8 gears 1 forward and 7 back. All guns are improvised white flag launchers and each military vehicle comes with a loud speak that says "don't shoot, we surrender" in about 20 different languages.
They should add small blast shutters for windows in the bridge so if the room depressurizes they shut and maybe monitors come down with camera feeds on them.
I think when I finally get SE for Xone, I'm gonna build the cockpit/bridge first, in a heavily armored box, & build out from there. Either using cameras & monitors for viewing, or just use 3rd person controlling.
Hey LSG , i have some food for thought. In the last space engineers stream hosted by the dev team they showed an atmo thruster. however, every design on the workshop that is supposed to be a void to atmo drop ship has hydrogen thrusters. that means all of the designs for drop ships are going to be really inefficient when landing or taking off. the atmo thrusters are not show to require fuel, only an intake of atmosphere. the ion thrusters are only effecent in space due to gravity the hydrogen thrusters are strong in all areas but they require massive space for tanks and long periods of time processing ice into hydrogen. should a efficient drop ship use ion thrusters on the way down or the way out, use hydrogen thrusters in the small area between atmo and void were all other thrusters are inefecient, and use atmosphere thrusters to get up and do landing. that would be the most efficient use of fuel and time, i think. i might be missing something but its something to think about.
LSG, I had a question. I have been inspired by all of these stock (vanilla) ships that have been coming out for review. I have been working on a ship for the last few weeks now, trying to come up with my own design and to fit similar specifications as the ships you have reviewed thus far (hangar, bridge, medical, engine room, offensive / defensive abilities, etc). However, my question is more about is there any size limitation or block limit you set to determine what makes a good survival ship? Thanks for any insight / information you can provide. I really would love to see my ship join some of these vanilla-grade ones. My intentions are to make stock and modded versions of the same ship.
Oooooh I had a awesome idea for that reactor room since you cant access it because of the glass what about having little maintenance drones in there? so if something goes wrong with the reactors one of those lil guys can just hover to it and fix it.
a better name for this ship would be the lobster, because the first thing i noticed was the hydrogen thrusters on the front of the ship. because if you know a thing or two about the crustation known as the lobster, it has a powerful tail that alows it to jerk backwards as fast as possible, just like the hydrogen thruster, it has a powerful kick. so its only logical to name a ship that has an over powered reverse after a sea creature that has an even more powerful reverse!
i just noticed. This ship doesnt look like to be intended for a exploration missions. Rather than HVT (High Value Targets) escorter. or if not sure what i said. its a Presidents Limo.
Hey Aron, I really miss your videos on your "Homemade" torpedos in SpaceEngineers so I was wondering if you could bring them back? Because I have a concept I'd like you to test; AirBurst Torpedos. Make a torbedo, in which you set the approximate distance to a target, and it blows up a set distance from that target. How is this useful? If a ship has strong frontal armor, you could fire the torpedo past it, and it would explode behind it instead. For example. Wether or not you choose to accept my challenge, I'll still love your space engineers videos :)
I would really like to see more ships that are geared solely for survival. Things like this are nice and all but most servers I have played on in the past had limits to your ship size. Would love some ideas for ships that were designed completely for practicality with the looks as more of an afterthought. Also if we now know we would likely start on a planet how about some more compact mobile bases of some sort for planets.
Aaron you need to make some more of your own ships, that way the videos you make about them will be better because you can say all you do in videos about other peoples ships, but go further and say why you chose what and what gave you the inspiration and so on (:
TankCommander451 No it just annoys the fuck out of me when people don't look at what happend exactly during those times and think that all french people are cowards. Just makes me want to shoot at them to see *them* run a bit.
+TankCommander451 You think i don't know all that? We just had idiotic commanders and a broken command chain when the nazis attacked by surprise. If only they would have sent everything next to and on the maginot line instead of sending troops everywhere we could have resisted. Oh and the USA would probably not exist without or help. People say we lost in Indonesia? Look at the US in the vietnam war lmao. The algerian war? We managed to win but we decided to make them independant in order for us to stay a democraty. Oh and also you forgot that the resistance helped alot on the d-day and that they rescued many allied pilots. We are not cowards.
Geoffrey111995's HD Productions The US lost in Vietnam because they refused to fight a war. They made it a big glory fest and lost. I recognise their immense stupidity then. As for the Maginot Line, it was France's *reliance* on it that they lost so quickly. They tied too many troops and too much equipment there. Germany went right around the Maginot, laughing all the way (so to speak). I'm not saying the French are cowards. Anyone who says that with 100% honesty is an idiot. Hardly anyone actually believes that. On the other hand, they make for great jokes. And if we're not allowed to joke about the French, what's the point? I'm German and I laugh at obvious and over-the-top and cliched jokes about Germany and her people. Where's your sense of humour, that you can't laugh at a joke about an admittedly embarrassing chapter of French history?
+Geoffrey111995's HD Productions Did you just say "Look at the US in the vietnam war lmao" in defense of the French? Other than that, you're being an idiot. Noone actually thinks that all the French are cowards except for the equivilant of those who actually believe all Americans are stupid (in other words: stupid jackasses) so your speech only goes to show how petty you are. Also while you did aid the U.S. we also had a slight influence on your own revolution, both good and bad, as well. Louie really was incompetent, wasn't he? Spending money of a depressed nation to fund a war for people rebelling against a king, that succeeded...how did he think that would go down? Not the determining factor but it didn't help him. As for the rebels, not to downplay them but I would certainly hope so. This SHOULD have been obvious and not needing to be said but the joke is more pointed to towards the past french government and people who say it almost certainly know that it doesn't actually cover the full complexity of the situation.
Wait so if orbital bombardment ends up being a thing, does that mean you can build a AC-130 type spaceship that can just decimate a large area in a short period of time?
I really wanna try my hand at making a great ship (Survival ready or not) and I was wondering what you look for when you showcase these ships! Please get back to me if you can ^.^
Tbh I kinda sigh every thine I see ships with a bridge with windows. It makes no sense. It just makes your command center so much more vulnerable. You gotta place your bridge deep in the ship, in a heavily armored cocoon. It's far less vulnerable, and means the enemy would actual have to nearly totally your ship to take you out, rather than just hit your bridge. If they hit the bridge, hell, they don't even need to directly hurt you. They could just breech it and cause it to depressurize and kill everyone inside like that.
+Phoenix jz they look aesthetically pleasing and also allow the player to look outside without the use of 3rd person or an array of cameras, windows add some immersion to builds and look more natural. Although i see your point and alot of people build their ships with a secondary 'backup' bridge set up like you suggested.
+Dylan Conway Ahhh, I see. I definitely get the aesthetic part, I was just looking purely at functionality myself, but I definitely see your point as well. +Jembley ohhhh I forgot about that. +Dorjan24 Yeah, I know of that, which is kinda why I mentioned this in the first place. However, unlike in Naval Warfare, it doesn't even matter if the crew survives the initial hilt to the bridge. In space, it could easily kill all of them if they don't have spacesuits on.
Am I the only one wondering why all these "survival ships" have such teeny tiny hangers on them? A vanilla constructor would only just fit through that hanger door and the hanger itself had very little room for ships. Maybe 3 if they are especially compact.
+bbdawise I noticed that too. I tried to build a survival ready hangar and it was massive. You have a fighter, a constructor, and a miner. The average length is 2-3 blocks. It may not sound like much but a nine block long hangar probably with gaps in it too so more like 20 blocks is way to large to fit in a reasonably sized survival ready ship.
God, am I the only one who thinks if SE had good multiplayer and mods, it would be a perfect game? I would really like to see a full RP modded faction wars server for like atleast 150-200 people. Dreams :(
Now my cryo-station don't work and and inventory like uranium and ammo is getting in oxygen tanks and in turrets. Wondering if anyone else have this problem.
I want to make a tiny ship with the ability to secretly latch onto large ships and then have like an omnidirectional blast of rockets and by small I mean as small as it can be and if I blow it up in the reactor room stuff gonna go down
It looks great, but almost useless for suvival. First of all it has rocket launchers that can hit drive under them while moving. And they aren't protected properly - they will be a first target. I don't think you would like to lose them after 2-3 hits. Also the ship has complex and weak front armor, means it will be damaged every time and you'll spend lots of time to repear it. Firepower is negligible: every single ship in any position should be in range of at least 10 gun turrets. So I think this ship will be significantly damaged by Argentavis.
+Brante Briggs lol all Tiger's had 88's. The Diffence in guns was the Tiger 1 had the 88mm kwk36 L56(88mm, 56 calibers long), and the Tiger II(aka King Tiger) had the 88mm kwk43 L71(88mm, 71 calibers long). That one was far more powerful, and could pretty much take out any Allied Tank of the war from the front.
well ever since I found about space engineers and no mans sky I have a collection of ships I designed for those two games..they are really nice too..I would like to see if someone in your faction can design them in space engineers? do you have a email so i can send you the designs?
+Le Derp Français Someone should make a reinforced glass mod so people can have windows on their ships that can protect them, not as strong as regular armor but better than regular glass
+DLORD 3000 Isn't there a mod that has closing windows? Just make a bridge out of those, and I'd assume they would be much stronger being actually door.
hey...ive been following youall for some time....and I asked you a question a while back...about you possibly making these ships I designed ? you never gave me a yes or no? so WASSSUP?
+Nicholas Kjerland i can make my ships look good and usefull when i play survival unlimited blablabla... This way i can see problems and solutions faster then just build up and fly. :)
Nice overall shape, but too dark on the interior. It also seems to have an excess amount of ribbing along the top exterior, and it just doesn't speak "Druid" to me...
Gotta appreciate the folks who really put the effort into making cool vanilla ships. I really liked the color scheme, it always takes me forever to figure out what colors are going to work on a particular ship.
this is one of the best looking ships as far as the inside goes from these vanilla ships you have been showcasing. At least so far.
+Jacob Ellinger Right? That hangar is just beautiful, mostly because of the perspective of course but still, and a great bridge as well
fl4shb4ck1992 yeah now if only he could ger the outside to look at good. Personally I would smooth it out by filling in some of that negative space while leaving a few others open the way they are.

+taylor I'll second that, and maybe a crash test when planets are added.
I'll third that, sounds like a very good idea, and also,a crash test sounds really good too
+GottaLoveGod3456 Definitely fourth.. everyone likes destruction
+taylor A solid fifth on my part.
DoctorPC pelailut really? Solid?... idk but i think it would be more convincing if it was liquid... just saying
1:19 Broadsiding with this shit? :P
I heard that too lol
+Wwald It's like in the phaser battle video (I don't remember if it was Sages of Arrons) where it sounded like he said "Don't fly away from me you crippled shit".
+Wwald He very clearly says ship. I mean, really... If you can't hear his p at all, either your speakers or your ears need some checking.
+Wwald Oh, my god! Now you've put that idea in my head XD
+Wwald I have to think that putting rocket turrets on the sides would be a better idea than the launchers
I absolutely love the style of all the ships this creater makes.
that's a very solid build. I never can seem to get myself into creative mode, and it'd take ages to build something like that in survival, single player, even with a projector system. wow, that is a nicely designed ship! I am pleased to see that my hunch to cram in 4 refineries into my design seems not to unreasonable XD
That flight deck is very Rocinante ... along with the gatling mounts. Nice!
I would say the backwardsthruster are acutally not to escape battle situations but to come to a stop as fast as possible. That command center has a STRONG fallout vibe with the green-on-black design its got there.
I wish the devs would add more furniture into the vanilla gameplay.
Ohh, this one is beautiful, very angular. I'd say this is probably the best one so far!
Also, seems the descriptions are better, now.
It's good but it can destroy itself and not protected at the back; like most ships btw use the crossbow ship it is so cool its a space ship carrier
If ur a space engineers player use some more protection you know u never can predict how a space battle can go.
Thank you for reading my comment
This ship looks great and the hangar is huge!
I saw this ship on reddit and i must say, this is by far my favorite ship.
0:46 Fastest in reverse... if this reminds anyone of anything... you're awesome.
+Nathan C. It reminds me of something, but I can't place it.
+Nathan C. Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing?
+epicsauceness100 It didn't necessarily reach warp speeds like in Big Rigs xD
+Nathan C. The French?

This is so death star themed on the inside. I like it :3
I like the ship, I don´t feel to well today, so I am happy to see something nice.
Pretty well thought out ship. And +1 for no mods.
Belly mounted hangar doors are a favorite of mine.
They should add small blast shutters for windows in the bridge so if the room depressurizes they shut and maybe monitors come down with camera feeds on them.
I never realize how large these ships are until he does a walk through
I can imagine this ship would be a colony ship and the hanger would hold two drop ships with rovers attached.
did anybody else notice that "Navigation" on the monitor was spelled "Nevigation" ?
I think when I finally get SE for Xone, I'm gonna build the cockpit/bridge first, in a heavily armored box, & build out from there. Either using cameras & monitors for viewing, or just use 3rd person controlling.
To me, those "extra rooms" looked like they could be cells. If only we had a glass-thickness door.
Hey LSG , i have some food for thought. In the last space engineers stream hosted by the dev team they showed an atmo thruster. however, every design on the workshop that is supposed to be a void to atmo drop ship has hydrogen thrusters. that means all of the designs for drop ships are going to be really inefficient when landing or taking off.
the atmo thrusters are not show to require fuel, only an intake of atmosphere.
the ion thrusters are only effecent in space due to gravity
the hydrogen thrusters are strong in all areas but they require massive space for tanks and long periods of time processing ice into hydrogen.
should a efficient drop ship use ion thrusters on the way down or the way out, use hydrogen thrusters in the small area between atmo and void were all other thrusters are inefecient, and use atmosphere thrusters to get up and do landing. that would be the most efficient use of fuel and time, i think. i might be missing something but its something to think about.
That ship has more grooves on it than the 1970s...
Beautiful ship.
technically the "captains seat" as you call it, would be the helmsman's seat.
This is with no mods? wow the game has come along way in 1 year.
cool ship, could add a welder arm in that hanger though.... still, cool ship.
personaly favorite ship by now(the bridge have something to do with it)
Broadside Ships? LSG, Make a Broadside challenge with you and sage.
Awesome build!
when do you wanna do the next survival video ?
I love them !
this ship needs a few assemblers and stuff like that, maybe put that in the spare room cause there is nothing to produce ammo and spare parts.
very beautiful ship.
Could you do a video with advise to building your own big ship.

It looks like a great RP ship.
Hey Aaron, it looks kind of like a beefed-up version of your white frigate.
can you make some tutorials for making the displays and other cool ship features. plz
I don't have the game but aren't the missile blocks a mod?
Are these LCD's self made or did he got them off the workshop?
I feel so noob when I see those ships! How long does it take to build something this perfect?
Typical French engineering. Goes faster backwards than it does forwards.
Additional - And the guns are empty!

nice ship. Needs more dakka
but would really fall down the hole in outer space?
BattleShip + SurvivalShip = This Ship (Druid)
I really wanna try my hand at making a great ship (Survival ready or not) and I was wondering what you look for when you showcase these ships! Please get back to me if you can ^.^
Arron, I built a really nice battle cruiser, how would I go about submitting it to you for showcase?
#LastStandGamers Woow this is real imperial ship. It just need a Dart Vader on that main captain chair.
I'll bet it was made on Planet Druidia. How would it hold up against Space Ball 1?
+HydraStrike Well it didn't even have a Mr Radar or Mr Coffee so probably not well.
when is the next survival episode coming out
Honestly,I want to make a ship if I had the game
Are you scot manly? "Hello there"
Try a damaged ship filled with explosives, and high-speed torpedoes.

Is it me or are there not many survival episodes being released anymore?
+Josh Day Maybe it's just taking longer to set up scenarios
+Baps yeah, unless they're waiting for planets to be released
+Josh Day That sounds plausible
Does Arron's graphics look better than usual or is it just lighting
+Leo Brown He's probably using DX11 renderer.
+Timothy Lengel no it looks better than DX11
Leo Brown Well then our computers are just potatoes(mine especially) in comparison
+Timothy Lengel we should steal it and ram dominance will be ours!
Leo Brown Please yes my computer is terrible with SE
I think the bridge is to bright, i like the bridge to be darker, or at least have a red alert light setting
Why don't you show the defensive capabilities of these ships? That's always the best bit.😦
Dreams :(
Aaahhh i wish i can like more than once
+Badwolf15002 Make an alternate account.
I FINALLY KNOW HOW TO USE TIMERBLOCK'S WHOOOOOO!
it's a nice ship
You don't make any concepts anymore... Why did you kill the concept Aaron?
Omg thats beautiful! Time to get it and ruin it with my own stupidity! =P
Now my cryo-station don't work and and inventory like uranium and ammo is getting in oxygen tanks and in turrets. Wondering if anyone else have this problem.
I want to make a tiny ship with the ability to secretly latch onto large ships and then have like an omnidirectional blast of rockets and by small I mean as small as it can be and if I blow it up in the reactor room stuff gonna go down
Sounds cool, I might try building something like that
+Gaming in a box Boxed and maybe have a large ship with a bunch of them in and have a self destruct mechanism?
guys my computer lags ALOT with a large medium ship will it stand planets?
+spiro man idk... we have no idea how they will work in the game code yet or how well they will be optimized for release.
So I think this ship will be significantly damaged by Argentavis.
aron could you build an tiger 88 with working a turret
+Brante Briggs lol all Tiger's had 88's.
The Diffence in guns was the Tiger 1 had the 88mm kwk36 L56(88mm, 56 calibers long), and the Tiger II(aka King Tiger) had the 88mm kwk43 L71(88mm, 71 calibers long). That one was far more powerful, and could pretty much take out any Allied Tank of the war from the front.
+Phoenix jz Nobody talked about that......
well ever since I found about space engineers and no mans sky I have a collection of ships I designed for those two games..they are really nice too..I would like to see if someone in your faction can design them in space engineers? do you have a email so i can send you the designs?
What are your pc specs?
+scoldingcolt He did a build video a while ago which should give you the answer to that.
i wish i knew how to build like this...
Third, Nice vid and cool ship =D
have you played a game called starmade?
+Jonty FreaCk If you have Space Engineers, Starmade is useless.
+Logical Deception you got the point
Starmade is a discount Minecraft mod.
very nice ship my ship looks like scrap against it but maybe you want to check it out its calles Hydrogen-carrier by Letzte Deutsche Linie ^^
I love myself
Or you could just fly a fighter up to the bridge and blast through the glass and instantly hit the cap.
Le Derp Français Oh, I forgot about that mod
No one can hear you hiss in space...
hello from NewOrleans
when I get my pc first ship I'm gonna get off the workshop
hey...ive been following youall for some time....and I asked you a question a while back...about you possibly making these ships I designed ?
you never gave me a yes or no?
so WASSSUP?
What ships?
Im probably gonna continue playing sandbox games in the hopes of making something that actually looks good... probably never will
+Nicholas Kjerland
keep trying, if you try enough times you're guaranteed to succeed once.
well, that's what i go by in these sorts of games.
+Nicholas Kjerland
i can make my ships look good and usefull when i play survival unlimited blablabla...
This way i can see problems and solutions faster then just build up and fly. :)
Nice overall shape, but too dark on the interior. It also seems to have an excess amount of ribbing along the top exterior, and it just doesn't speak "Druid" to me...
