Everybody in the UK is proud of the Phonics. One hell of a band, certainly the soundtrack of my youth! Worth saying, Wales is an underrated destination. Best beach in the UK is Tenby!
Phonics aren't underrated in the UK they have been consistently furkin outstanding since the 90s Kelly Jones probably the best rock voice on the planet!!
Couldn't agree more @kipp1231, Ever since I purchased their first album until now I follow the Stereophonics and look forward to seeing them. Seven times so far, me and my Wife love them
This song is so beautiful and haunting 😢Pay attention to those lyrics and you will weep!! His beautiful voice and the swelling symphony plus rock guitar strains in the background add to that ambience ❤ GORGEOUS ❤
Phenomenal live band, Kelly Jones voice is pretty much second to none. Try, Bartender and the Thief, Local Boy In the Photograph, A Thousand trees, More Life in a Tramps Vest, Just Looking, Handbags and Gladrags to name a few.
Birmingham, Alabama here. I've been listening to Stereophonics since '97, absolutely one of my favorite bands. Kelly's voice is second to none, and his songwriting is legendary. Most Americans have no idea what they're missing.
Yes man, good for you! They definitely deserve more recognition in US. Theyre just the best for me. Too many truly great songs and albums to do them justice. Kelly Jones is a Welsh rock idol. You are aware theyre doing a states tour next year? Seize the opportunity! (or better come to the wonderful city of Cardiff and see them here)
@@superadders19 My first show was actually at Cardiff Castle in '98. I have lived in Ireland twice so I have seen them numerous times in the UK and 5 times here in America. I absolutely love Wales, my wife and I are looking forward to our trip in the spring.
Stereophonics are amazing!!!!! Please do more of them! Some more suggestions are; Maybe Tomorrow Dakota C’est La Vie Do Ya Feel My Love Indian Summer I wanna get lost with you Sunny Bust this town Local boy in the photograph Traffic A thousand trees In a moment Violins and tambourines White lies Catacomb I could go on and on and on 😂 they’re my favourite band and I’ve seen them about 10 times. I’ll never tire of them! 🙏🏻
I used to love this band in my 20s! And yes Kelly Jones has a great voice. He's Welsh and the Celts in general (Irish too) can be brilliant singers and naturally very musical.
Great reaction! They are a great band! The drummer was quite subdued in that video. He does get a little excitable. lets say! My favourite one of theirs is Indian summer but all of their work is great!
Haha.. saying 2 Jones' from Wales may be related. ..Jones is a Welsh surname , I think meaning son of John ....and it is a VERY VERY well spread name , most popular name in Wales , along with Williams , Evans, Davies , Morgan etc .
Suzie/Travis. Great reaction. Jon and Dolly just did another from the 'phonics - All in One Night. Both "Graffiti" and "All in one night" show not only Kelly's unique voice but also his gift for creating emotional stories with his lyrics. Plus, it's always a great reaction when Suzie gets visibly affected - almost like Suzie watching Mylene Farmer and the 2009 Ainsi Soit Je reaction. We love you Suzie for your fabulous open reactions!! :D
So happy to see your positive reaction to this great song, however I feel you missed the point of the story within the lyrics. It's absolutely heartbraking. The song tells the story of a young couple who live together in an apartment. She is the sensible one, dutifully catching the 1st train every morning to work. He on the other hand is a bit of a loveable rogue, he is unemployed and likes to spend his time late at night spraying the train cars with graffiti at the train depot a couple of miles up the road from where they both live. He is desperate to marry her but can never pluck up the courage. Also he knows he'll have to change his ways, another thing he likes to do is "Surf the train cars", hanging into the roofs as they travel at speed up and down the lines. So he decides he is going to change for the better, but for one last time he decides to "kill two birds with one stone" , he will slip out at night, travel up to the depot then instead of painting his usual graffiti tags he will this time spray "Marry me, I love you" on the side of the car he knows she will enter the next morning. He will wait overnight at the railyard, then when the train sets off in the morning he will "ride the rails" one last time, when he arrives at the station she will be reading his message and then he will slide off the roof of the train and present her with a ring. But of course he never makes it, she reads his message and recognising his style knows its him, she also hears the other commuters talking about a fatal accident that has occurred, she then realised it's him they are talking about. "The graffiti on the train, she'll never be the same". That is the story behind this great song. Like I said, heartbreaking. Hope my explanation helps you to enjoy this song more fully.
Stereophonics one of the best live bands ever. Not biased because I'm welsh lol. You should listen to Mr and Mrs Smith and Sunny by Stereophonics. The live versions are amazing. Great reactions by the way.

The original line up was Kelly Jones, Richard Jones and Stuart Cable, they were childhood friends. Amazing band Kelly's voice is unreal
Wouldn't have been my first choice for a reaction, Dakota, Batender and the Thief or their cover of Handbags and Gakdrags would be my recommendations.
Trouble live from Cardiff is a banger ..
Best live Band EVER. ..seem many in my 50+ years on the planet...but none match The Sterophonics
