Hi everyone, thanks for your comments, glad you're enjoying this unique Strawbs footage.
Go to www.myspace.com/keepthe70saliveeverytuesdayatthebar, under my 'videos' section for an even clearer picture. Enjoy!! Cheers. Tina. xx Many thanks to Rob for making this video uploadable!
P.S. Apparently this great Strawbs appearance so nearly didn't happen, as Dave Lambert told me, the band had a car accident the night before, driving back from a gig in Norwich.
Back in 1973 I was 14 and bought Bursting At The Seams in a discount record shop in Rotterdam. It's one of my favourite albums ever since.
The whole album is full of gems like this. The Strawbs were a wonderful band.
Just Fantastic Tears and Pavan, just the real masters of progressive Rock just starting and never ending!!!!
Most underated band in the history of music
This band has always given me a feeling of all the beauty in the world..........
@margarita6022 Sorry for you sad loss....a great band to remember a loved one by....I was 11 or 12 when I discovered them and got sucked into their mystical magical wonder which changed me forever. I find no other music even remotely equal to theirs, and you can see by my name how much I identify with them. They are one of a kind, and David Cousin's voice will go down in history!
Yep, that's Blue - with some lovely Mellotron strings! Met him at a Strawbs concert in Whitehaven (of all places!) in (I think) 1998 - he's got a great CV! Amen Corner, the Strawbs (of course) and the Bee Gees! So that catchy synth run on Jive Talkin' and the dreamy electric piano on How Deep Is Your Love? is our Blue! What a versatile guy! And what an edition of OGWT that was! Judee Sill, Poco and the Moodies! Those were the days!
OMG I never thought I would hear this agian . Thank you so much . I remember getting my new Garrard SP 25 Mk 4 , Teac Amp and Kev speakers and filling the room with this in 1973. What memories
Never thought I'd see a live version of this song; one of my favorites from the band.
Magnificent song. One of my favorites on this album. thank you
음악이 흐르는 밤에를 통해서 알려지고 백판으로 발매되어 청계천 음반기게에서 사들고 집에 돌아오던 순간이 아직도 엊그제 같은데. 벌써 30년 .. 사랑 합니다.
great song of an great band
Aye. One of my favourite pieces from this band. Perhaps that best concert I ever attended was the Strawbs and the Man band at Massey Hall in the 70's. Incredible, and an incredible impact on folks that I knew had attended.
this is wonderful! thanks for taking the time to post this properly. Appreciate your "keepingtheseventiesalive" sentiment, There is much more great music there than the post-punk philosophers would allow.
wordofgord
Thank you, wonderful !
Thanks for the post.... I have all the Strawbs vinyls... safely stowed away... I haven't had a turntabe for a long while. A sound engineer friend of mine is gonna set me up to transfer my vinyls (lots O' great music from the past never made it to CDs.)
Many thanks for posting.
One of THE classic lps "Bursting at the Seams" See, the 70's weren't all that bad!
Reminds me of early Genesis.
