This is a great tip regarding Vinyl Me Pleas and a great idea for a give away!!! I have the original Gabor Szabo and the repress. The repress wasn’t from Vinyl Me Please, it was from a local record store it wasn’t warp and it does sound amazing. I meant to tell you, start collecting those Black jazz records represses as the originals are very hard to come by and very expensive. I have them all with the significance being they came from and all black recording company label in the 70s. You picked some good ones. There are either 21 or 22 total. I got mine from my local record store. They are all good. Your channel is outstanding!!!
One thing VMP has confirmed you can do is sign up six months rt now and then sign up for 12 months before the end of the year before your next renewal and you get 11 free records. Some ppl are doing the 3 months in January, signing for 6 moths in april and then will do 12 months in october and will get all the free records as long as all the renewals happen in 2023.
I bought the Cadet box set and just got it yesterday, I look forward to hearing your thoughts. A couple of my records were significantly warped, but otherwise I’m pleased so far.
aww man - sorry to hear that - im totally paranoid at this point about warped records - paranoid being the optimal word since I just damaged a copy of BS Paranoid trying to get it flattened! I would say send it back - but you will probably just end up with another warp - seems to be the patter with VMP - but at least they do send out a second one.
@@PiecesofVinyl Really what is the point of even having a replacement policy , if the replacement is just as bad or worse?? They Will not refund your money , i'm about done with these punks.
No kidding on Wilsons vocals... thought he might blow out my speakers lol! Gotta Groove Records is in Cleveland and in my experience produce really great pressings. They press a lot of... if not all of Colemine Records stuff. Here is a short film on them ruclips.net/video/6c4bZ8vquXo/видео.html
It appears you can’t use shop to break it into payments. Kinda sad about it as I told a friend about it so they could get it only to have let them down. :(
Maybe that is per user based on credit? I know sometimes I’m not given certain options at checkout based on my current purchases. I’m gonna look into this some more.
@@PiecesofVinyl Not sure. It didnt ask for any information when I tried to do it on my end. Only gave an option for PayPal or credit/debit card. Maybe they only allow it in certain regions? I dont know. Love your videos though!
The deal is actually really sweet considering you can get some records that are double LPS and exclusives for that price - normally they could go for over $50 and once they are sold out they will go for a lot more.
@@PiecesofVinyl I almost went for it last night and got the 12 months, but in the end I stopped myself. Seems like there’s a lot of complaints about the shipping damaging the records and I realized I was having to stretch to find 8 albums I really wanted in my collection from the bonus collection. It seems like a great service and deal but I just don’t have the extra cash for it right now. Want to upgrade my setup with a new table and preamp next. The new arcs LP exclusive made me really want it!!
@@dwillingham funny you mention this, because this is just like the Columbia house deal from the 70's. When I signed up I had to struggle to find records I wanted, and ended up with records I didn't really want, but that was what I had to pick from.
I had to laugh because this sounds like the old BMG/Cloumbia House record clubs. Lol!
This is a bit better then those clubs - but - I found some great stuff in my brothers Columbia House issues!
My subscription renews on the first of April, I'm stoked!

Thanks for watching and the heads up on the black jazz. I’m really digging it and I am going to seek out more of them.

Nice. I might have to try something like that later this year!
This is amazing, yet again 👏🏼
Thanks for watching - yet again!

Looks interesting, not sure if it’s worth it for Canadians .. I’ll have to google around and see
Knock on Wood is Eddie Floyd, not Wilson Pickett. But another great album.
BAH! I always get them mixed up - I criminally don't have enough of either one in my collection!
What is the awesome song that is playing in the background starting at the 7 minute 45 second mark?
Julian Hartwell - Say Easy Bro - artlist.io/song/51911/stay-easy-bro
This death cab slander will not stand!!! 😉

That's right! I knew I had heard about them - I actually mentioned them and that video in a previous video talking about color variants!
Did he say $36 per record?

This is literally the definition of girl math. Got free records by paying a year subscription???
It's not free! You paid for a year subscription for it. $435 right now for 20 records comes out to about $22 a record. Still a pretty good deal!

Beastie boys greatest record ever made, lol...give me a break
I didn’t say greatest record ever made. I said one of. And to me it is. But maybe it’s not.
