    Thank you for making this video. I kept searching to make sure these panels were compatible with FSX and not only 2020. Thanks for the helping us nerds. There is nothing online about this hardly.

    @Vadermike, this is the first video of yours that I've seen and, man, I'm very impressed with your home cockpit setup!
    I've just ordered my Logitech multi-panel and wanted to check it's settings and config in MSFS2020.
    My compliments and thanks for an excellent, no-nonsense and crisp video tutorial thats easy to understand and follow. 👍

    The autopilot knob, it looks like there's an inner and outer ring. However, based on how you were operating it, it appears that it is not a dual ring but just a single ring. Is that correct?

    Hi thanks for your Vedic .....I considered the trim wheel on the multi panel to be the wheel found on some auto pilots for adj climb and decent rates not the elevator trim which normally is on your yoke in higher performance aircraft

    I cant seem to find any good instruction how to assign Encoders to stuff using SPAD, like a Knobster works. I have the OCTAVI and an Arduino box with encoders, Thanks so much !

      Yeah that's why I'm here too. I have my multi panel working with an add on. However, I cannot get any of the LCD displays to work. Which isn't that big of a deal because I can see the information on screen, but it would be nice to see my information via my LCD screen when making course corrections.

    How did you connect all those panels etc and not run out of USB ports. Did you use a USB hub? I have problem when doing that and I have the Multi-Panel, Switch-Panel and Radi-Panel. Then Thrustmaster Hotax, X-Box Controller for Drone and finally Mouse. I would like to add some smaller 'round' meters that you have, Vertical Speed etc. I see problems with USB ports.

    At first, I only had one radio unit operational. the radio 2 unit, Multi switch, and Pro switch were dead, windows said all ok.
    spad next could communicate with radio 1 only.
    FYI:
    Fix turned out to be downloading the current driver from saitek (it is a single driver for all of them)

    hello, what is the name of the gauge you have on the right of multipanel ? I mean the RPM with trim and flaps indicator!

    • @vadermike7772
      @vadermike7772  6 лет назад

      That gauge is actually a custom gauge that I had Tom Tsui of fsxtimes design for me. it is much like his Cessna C172SP VSADF guage, with the exception that I wanted a "tachometer" displayed, instead of the vsi. Here is a link if you want to check out his stuff. I highly recommend his guages. store.fsxtimes.com/index.php?s=aircraft&sid_04=5&sid_01=1&sid_03=14

So far, I have set up USB hubs with switchable (on/off) ports to have either yoke 1 or yoke 2, or joy stick operational. did you do something different in your set up for the 2 seat controls?

    • @vadermike7772
      @vadermike7772  3 года назад

      Yes I did. It works great for twins, having 2 throttle, two mixture, and two prop levers. In heavies, I use 2 throttles, (or 4 if it is a 4 engine aircraft) and one axis for spoilers, and one axis for flaps.

    Hey vadermike How about how to set up your Fig panel how did you get then so bright . vadermike i have every panel and gadget just like you plus jetmax 737 panels i just need help with the fig panels and every panel from saitek to set up with Spad next

      There is a brightness setting for fip's in spad, but also keep in mind, i don't use any default gauges in any of my fip's. So unless you are using the same gauges as me, it will look different on your displays. I will make a video on this soon, be sure to check it out!

    Hi Vadermike, excellent videos and thanks for sharing your configurations (ie snippets) with Spad.Next. I'm trying to set up my own configurations (similar to yours) but I can't create the action "increment NAV OBS:1 by 90" in Spad.next. The variable doesn't appear in the action list. This is one example of many that work in your snippets, but can't be made manually. Did this work only in older versions of Spad.next perhaps?

    • @biggy5567
      @biggy5567 6 лет назад

      Did you create the condition first? The condition needs to be created before you can specify an "action". Follow this process, select the dial you want to modify, click "add event", then choose short/ long click (if it is a lever you are configuring), or clockwise/counterclockwise (if it is a dial you are configuring). Then click on "add condition", and then select data. Make sure either FSUIPC or SIMMCONNECT has a checkmark in the top left corner, then in the search box do a search for "OBS". Select the condition you want, then click ok. then you can add an "action" and specify what you want it to do. (for example decrement the OBS by 90 degrees)

    • @stephencorcoran9070
      @stephencorcoran9070 6 лет назад

      Thanks for the reply biggy5567 but this hasn't been successful.
      My scenario: for the MultiPanel--Pitch Trim wheel
      Event: On Nose Dn
      Condition: If Multipanel Selector Device = 16 , (CRS selected )
      Action: Increment NAV OBS:1 by 15 degrees.
      Unfortunately NAV OBS:1 still does not appear in the action list.
      The result is the same even if I choose Flaps Down as the event (similar to VaderMike777's configuration)

    • @vadermike7772
      @vadermike7772  6 лет назад

      Hi there, I tried on my setup. The Nav obs:1 value does exist for the pitch trim (go to add action, change data value, and search for OBS, change operation to increment or decrement to your preffered value, in this case 15), however, I cant seem to get it to work on the trim wheel for the multipanel. It works on the flaps, and on the dials, and on my fips, but not the trim wheel for some reason, even though the option exists. In this case you might want to ask the designer of spad for the solution. And please repost back here once you find out,( I am curious myself)

    • @stephencorcoran9070
      @stephencorcoran9070 6 лет назад

      In all instances (FIP buttons/flap switch/pitch wheel) I do not get the SIMCONNECT:NAV OBS:1 variable. I do get the NAV 1 OBS (FSUIPC) variable, however that has it's own problems. I have SIMCONNECT, FSUIPC and LOCAL selected in the checkboxes. I'm using Spad.next 0.9.6.25 (registered for FSX/P3D).
      I created a topic on the Spad.Next forum with no response yet. Next step is to open a ticket and hopefully Connex can help. Thanks for the quick reply!

    • @stephencorcoran9070
      @stephencorcoran9070 6 лет назад +1

      I've found a quick solution: Create the action using a different known variable, in Explorer go to the Profiles Directory (as displayed in Spad.next settings) and open your profile XML. Find the associated EventActionChangeValue tag and replace with "SIMCONNECT:NAV OBS:1". Save the text file and restart Spad.next. All this worked for me and I'm now able to use my pitch trim as intended. Hope this helps!

    So im struggling with getting the commands to work. Im flying Xplane 11 and while I can see the panels in SPAD.Next and they move when I use the switches, it does nothing in the simulator. Its like the commands really never make the connection to the sim. I should also say that the “Simconnect” function is not working either, but I’m not sure if that has something to do with the fact I’m using Plane. Do you have any suggestions? Ive sent in a ticket to SPAD.Next but they are not responding. You seem to have this stuff figured out so I thought I would try you.

    • @vadermike7772
      @vadermike7772  6 лет назад

      Stacey Dreyer hi Stacey. I don't use xplane 11, so i have no way of answering your questions. You did the right thing by opening a spad ticket. You Might need to wait a bit more for the designer to reply though. when you get your answer, maybe you can reply to this post with the solution, as that might help other people with X-Plane 11. Best of luck!

    Hiya Mike, I appreciate you made these 'excellent' videos a few years ago but they are still 'very' relevant to people (like me) that have just caught up with these panels and SPAD.next. I wouldn't have had anywhere near as much success without learning from your experience.
    I am referring to the multi-panel and hoping you can recall how to switch the preset off (e.g. ALT / VS) ... I believe you can do this for the presets, but the complete display cannot be switched off?

    Thanks vadermike i got my fip gauges from www.fipgauges.com how about A2A 180 cherokee and 250 comanche you think you could help with setting does planes if you have them but i can wait on setting up the Gauges thank you again

    • @vadermike7772
      @vadermike7772  8 лет назад

      Good choice, Daz makes some excellent gauges at fipguages.com. As for your question, I don't own any A2A aircraft, (although I have been eyeing their C172 for some time now), so I cant really help you with the config setup for them. But I do believe A2A uses LVAR variables, as opposed to Simconnect or FSUIPC variables. Luckily, Spad.next does offer LVAR functionallity.
      So as a start, I would recommend you "enable LVAR" in spad, and then check out some of Connex's Snippets. I would imagine he has probably posted some of the more common items. Also, check out the spad.next forum, and check out the profile threads. A2A are very popular Aircraft, and I am sure there are other A2A owners on the forum that can provide you with some pointers.
      Good luck and happy flying!
