Mice on Venus always managed to make me cry. Not sure why, but the piano and the overall feeling of the piece makes me so emotional. I never really got to experience the “good old days” of Minecraft, as I didn’t start playing until 2016, but the song still makes me feel some sort of nostalgia. I remember playing Minecraft with my brother, making the ugliest birch wood house with an uneven roof, getting scared of creepers and zombies, and having the best time in the world. Minecraft helped create so many good memories and I’m happy I decided to start playing. Mice on Venus will always be my favorite.

Beginning is the song that plays when you look back at the first time you saw the Minecraft menu screen.
Confronting Memories is the song that plays at a cool dark night beside a campfire
Sweden is the song that plays while you explore the wonderful terrain of this small little blocky world.
Dry Hands is the song that plays when you ask, "Why am I playing this blocky game anyway?".
Wet Hands is the song that plays when you finally stop and take a moment to look around at your digital landscape for once.
Axolotl is the song that plays while you slowly swim around a colorful and lively coral reef.
Oxygène is the song that plays as you stare into the skies.
Subwoofer Lullaby is the song that plays as you drift off into sleep after a long day trying to find diamonds.
Équinoxe is the song that plays when you look back at how far you've come in your small, but meaningful blocky world.
Left to Bloom is the song that plays as you explore the dark, but somehow comforting caves.
Aphrodite is the song that plays as you look back on the ancient civilizations of our world.
Aria Math is the song that sets the Minecraft mood for you while you're casually working on a building project in Creative Mode.
Floating Dream is the song that plays as you forget about the world from outside the screen, and are instead enveloped by the world inside the screen.
Floating Trees is the song that plays when you randomly decided to boot up Minecraft again after a while, and then you actually realize what game you are playing.
Far is the song that plays when you are far. Far from your Minecraft home, exploring the caves, the jungles, forests, or maybe the mountains.
Danny is the song that plays when you are just starting out a new survival world.
An Ordinary Day is the song the plays while you are just playing Minecraft on an ordinary day, just to get away from reality. Then you look at the clock and realize you have been playing the game for over 10 hours straight now.
Intro is the song that plays while you get lost. Lost both in the game and the outside world. Its like isolation.
Key is the song that plays when you don't really know what you are doing. You could be chopping, mining, walking, jumping, or swimming, it doesn't matter. The only thing that you are truly certain of, is that you are playing Minecraft.
Moog City is the song that plays when your friend finally agrees to try playing Minecraft again with you.
Biome Fest is the song as you fly over your blocky world during midnight, with only the moon and stars illumining where you are going.
Living Mice is the song that plays on a normal survival world. Just gathering planks, making a crafting table, getting cobblestone. It's just the beginning of a long journey.
Kyoto is the song that plays as you make a journey across the landscape, conflicted on whenever you'll survive, or it'll all be fine.
Taswell is the song that plays as you are building a nice lovely house in Creative mode.
Mutation is the song that plays when you start to think that sure, maybe Minecraft might have changed a lot on the outside. But the core, the things that make the game special, they are still there. In fact, they are the same way they always were.
Dragon Fish is the song that plays when you are able to see both the good and bad things of the ocean at the exact same time. Both the darkness and the dangerous things. But also the curiosity and amazingness that it has to offer.
Blind Spots is the song that plays as you are just minding your business in Creative mode.
Hanging Monastery is the song that plays as you look back on Ancient China, and how different it was from the modern world we know today.
Minecraft is the song that you can't, and will never forget. It's stuck there like superglue in your mind, and the moment you hear it, you'll smile.
Stand Tall is the song that plays as you walk through a mysterious cave, your doubts fighting you along the way.
Haunt Muskie is the song that plays in a dark, but yet not too dark, Minecraft world. It's lonely, but yet relaxing.
Clark is the song that plays when you are sad. It plays during the rain, or after a creeper blows up your house. But it gives you the hope and determination to keep going.
Dreiton is the song that plays while you watch a warm sun set on a quiet beach.
Eleven is the song that plays after something happened you were never expecting. Like losing a pet. It goes deep in the moment, but then quickly ends to let you continue on forward.
Excuse is the song that plays when you are exploring a weird, bizarre, yet interesting place.
Mice on Venus is the song that plays when you need hope. In any form.
Wending is the song that plays when you are exploring a dark and mysterious cave, trying to find something, but not quite sure what exactly it is.
Haggstrom is the song that plays when you are satisfied. Either starting up a new exciting day on your Minecraft world, or maybe looking at your entire world from up above on a mountain and seeing how far you have come.
Door is the song to show the difference between old day Minecraft and new day Minecraft. They may be different, but they are also the same.
Infinite Amethyst is the song that plays as you are exploring a lush cave, or find your first ever amethyst geode.
Alpha is the song that gives ultimate sadness. It gives sadness that they will be an end to Minecraft, and to everything that has existed. But then it brightens up, and helps the listener realize that even though these things will end, that doesn't mean it is completely pointless to do them.
Ballad of the Cats is the song that plays while you are in the nether, not sure where to go, not sure where what to do.
Beginning 2 is the song that you are waiting to be played when you visit the Minecraft menu screen.
One More Day is the song that plays when you are determined, motivated, and ready to slay more threats, conquer more fears, and ready to pursue anything into the unknown.
*To be honest, I haven't really realized how nostalgic Minecraft's music can be sometimes. Some of these songs, especially the Alpha ones, give me strong flashbacks to good old days of Minecraft. Minecraft is a wonderful game, and I'd not be the person I am today without it. Thank you...*

Wether or not we are happy, we all know that one point of our lives, Minecraft was our soul. It wasn't part, it was. Each day many people of the old die, and many people of the new are born. We will all burn to the ground. The souls will remain. The Minecraft will tear it apart. With each stone set apart, we will be more separate and less like the ambigious being we began as. Bacteria. That's it. That's the origin of life. And yet, with each step, it feels more like we are the aliens, and not the humans. Flood the forest of wisdom, for all will be gone.

Every time I hear this is reminds me of an old friend. We used to play Minecraft on my old Xbox together all the time. We had this one world we would play on everyday. We had so much fun together. We made a big, big, treehouse and we connected everything. We had a lot of animals and hidden places to just hangout. One time I remember we lost our dogs and got really sad, but we suddenly found them in a cave and brought them back and never let them leave us again. We filled up an entire wall with paintings and hid one of our secret houses behind it. We also hid one in a waterfall. We kept upgrading everything and adding more stuff. We did all this on the candy pack in Minecraft. But we had so much fun. We did other things too. We played many other games together and went so many places together. Then, I remember that one year I was so sad. I just didn’t want to talk to anyone but one person. My best friend (the girl I was friend with for so long) asked me so many times if she could come over. I was so sad and frustrated with life that I only talked to that one other person. I decided one day, that I wanted to have her over again. I wanted to have fun like we used to. We went to an amusement park, but we’d both changed. It was hard to talk to each other, since we’re both shy. I know that we both missed each other, but we just couldn’t find something to talk about the entire day at the amusement park. We just went on rides and just hoped someone would say something. I regret not saying anything so much. That was my last day ever spent with her. She found other friends, and just felt awkward talking to me. It was like everyone else was moving on without me. I felt so disconnected from life. I still had that other person though. The one that I had spoken to throughout the entire time I hadn’t been wanting to talk to anyone. I didn’t notice at the time, since I thought we were friends, but she was very toxic. She would hit me daily, and call me mean names. I felt like I couldn’t be myself around her. I wanted to go back so badly and get my old friend back. I wanted my old best friend. I cried every night hoping that maybe she’d come back to me. But, it never happened. I kept getting abused by this other “friend”. I felt like I had no one, and if I left this toxic friend, I’d be alone. It had been 3 years and I was still being abused by this toxic friend. I was just completely disconnected and thought it was ok for people to do this stuff to me. I thought that as long as they were happy, I would be ok. So, I let her abuse me. But, I had finally found other people who thought I was a good person and wanted to be friends with me. I started talking to them a lot more, and shortly after letting them come over to my house to play games with me and do the things my old best friend and I did, I finally realized what friendship was again. I had finally started to connect with reality again. I was starting to feel control over myself. I was realizing that it isn’t ok for someone to hurt me for their satisfaction. A week later, I just gave up on the toxic friend. I left them. I spent so much time with my new friend. They were true. I felt comfortable to be myself again. But, I still missed that old best friend. She was still the best person I’ve ever met in my life, and I couldn’t ever replace her, even if she replaced me. Though I could still maybe talk to her, I was scared. I felt that maybe she wouldn’t care about me anymore. Maybe she’s changed so much that I’m just nothing to her anymore. We never talked again. I still have that new friend, but I don’t have my old best friend. I regret not just talking to her again. Im praying that maybe, just maybe, she’ll see this and find me again. I miss you so much, and to this day I still cry about how I missed my chance to see you again. Im sorry.

Comforting Memories and Infinite Amethyst will always bring back memories of a base I had a bit ago where I grouped with a lot of people in a isolated valley on my vanilla server. We called it "The Valley". My little brother lived on the East mountain with his friends and I lived on the West with my friends. The Valley prospered for a few months and was one of the bigger economic powers on the server, but eventually most of the people moved away due to growing politics, thievery from someone from the East mountain, or just a loss of interest. Eventually, I was really the only one who still lived in the valley. A few people still came through occasionally to use one of the small farms that were built or to take something from an old storage system, but I was alone for the most part with my dog and iron golem. I developed a water elevator up the West mountain, an ice boat highway between the mountains, and a tavern in the town in the valley where I had my house on a pleasant lot overlooking downtown and the river. These songs, Comforting Memories and Infinite Amethyst, make me remember the hours I spent walking alone through the city, seeing all the beautiful but empty and quiet builds that covered the valley and both mountains. Such a bittersweet place to see screenshots of.

It's been 13 years since I played Minecraft for the first time. Coincidentally or not, it was a mark in my life and with Minecraft, a lot of things came, good and bad. I haven't played it in a few years, but playing this soundtrack after so much time while working, makes me look back to all those years and reminisce all that came and went from my life. All the friends that I shared experiences I will cherish for the rest of my life, but unfortunately lost due to my poor judgement. Everything that I suffered years ago due to other causalities of life, that today, feel like nothing compared to my current struggles. It's insane. And while all that has passed, Minecraft is still here, slowly but surely growing. And even though it's not a plot driven game, but a contemplative creative experience, it touches me in ways I will never be able to describe, and part of that is still due to this marvellous soundtrack. This game is an experience I will cherish for the rest of my days, an experience I hope to one day share with my future kids. And it's a game I come back to from time to time, even if it takes years for me to do so.

I remember being like 10-12 years old, I am 22 now and had played a lot in this server, it had portals for different game modes and what not, I don't even remember how they really looked, the music stuck with me though. In the same server, I think it was called Dragoncraft or something, me and my friend at the time had a small shop in the server, we were just selling wood, iron, gold, the essentials as a whole. It just felt right to play this game every day, it was not even enjoyable the same way League or any shooter felt, it just felt right. I remember how much I also loved hunger games, I was amazed and thrilled about the fact that I could run around and loot and that I had to fight to win. I also remember how much I loved gold, I knew that it was nothing special when it was used for swords and armour but I watched every video of SkyDoesMinecraft and I was even calling it butter and what-not. I almost can't believe that this time has passed. My concern back then was will I be able to play Minecraft after I study and do my homework, now I have to think why are cigarettes getting more expensive and how will I finish university.

This will always make me go into some tears, i remember me and my three siblings all playing in the same Xbox, it was always split into four screens and i could barely see the blocks but it was so nice and comforting.. after my dad died it all changed now all they do is fight for my dad's place everybody is forcing themselves to be an "adult" but in reality I miss just this, simplicity

i love the entire minecraft soundtrack so much it makes me feel bittersweet, however subwoofer lullaby will always hold a huge place in my heart. it gives me an unexplainable gentle peace, that makes me overwhelmed as if i want to break down into tears each time.
ive been struggling to move on from nostalgia from my childhood for ages, as my grandparents died and i moved away from my childhood home and left everyone and everything behind, all in the same year, forcing me to move on and grow up, never really giving myself the opportunity to recover from all the loss. However, now i feel like im finally at peace with myself and i can listen to these songs and instead of crying about how much i desperately miss it, i can feel glad and embrace that it happened.
C418 made such beautiful songs im amazed such simple mellow songs like this can make me feel so emotionally connected to them and at ease.

Just finished reading through Julian Gough's post on the End Poem, while playing this in the background for some noise, and... i feel utterly destroyed, and consoled. I don't think I can describe in words the importance of this game in my life anymore than anybody else already has. Days you can't go back to, memories made old and new. Playing minecraft on mine and my brothers shared computer, and playing through pixelmon with my old highschool friends. I am just glad to say that the experience of this game always brought joy and love, i think. Mice and on Venus has always stuck as a core memory, and moves me every time I listen. Gosh.

1:33 this sound always makes me cry. it reminds me of winter 2020 and spring 2021 when I played minecraft with my best friend and my crush. I remember when we had a big house, but we kept rebuilding it. we had a lot of pets and there were a lot of adventures. it was my safe place, covid did a lot. my crush is no longer in my life and I'm already losing my best friend. if you want to go back to that time? I do not even know. it was a big step in my life that I don't regret, but I cry every time I hear that sound.

Thank you for this, I fall asleep to it every single night.
Unlike all the videos that claim to have soothing music, this actually calms me. This or studio ghibli vids. The difference is most of the “listen to this to fall asleep” is a similar or looping musical sound, and instead of falling asleep I pinpoint every time it loops and it just drives me nuts. But videos like this that have a collection of songs are so helpful…so thank you

    • @somerandomperson111
      @somerandomperson111 2 года назад

Exactly!! I always fall asleep to this, it calms me down, and it has the most magical and nostalgic sounds. And like you said, either this or ghibli music, they are both so soothing.

I remember the first time me and my fam joined minecraft and we were all so confused by it. it makes me laugh how we all learned together, we even thought the main weapon of minecraft was the stick! it brings me back and we still play constantly with eachother.

I've been playing Minecraft for six years.
listening to this made me, sad.
But then, there was, nostalgia, for when you never finished that home.
When you activated creative mode for the first time.
    Played with your dearest friend.
Completed the game, and freed the end.
I wish to not be sad anymore, I wish to be *happy.*

Anyone ever got small reminders of the old minecraft days when you first started playing the game? I know nobody cares that much but I wanna tell my story, maybe we could share stories? lol
I cant remember much but I remember playing on a superflat world for the first time in creative, building a brick house and having a strange love for the brewing stand, I was obsessed with making sure my house looked detailed, but it ended up just being a square with a stone roof- I remember trying and failing to recreate the builds in the old minecraft books, always messing up by a block or two. One memory I wont forget was joining a world with people I had never met before, and having a blast in a city they had made, aswell as playing the old Xbox minigames with them aswell, hiding in the water for the entire match and jumping them at the last second.
    Good times.

One of the worlds I remember fondly, it must have been ten years ago at least.
It had this massive treehouse, bulbous with probably 10 different rooms. The only way you could get into it was a wooden slab walkway around the sides and a hole in the roof. The walls were covered in paintings, and I can distinctly recall the flaming skull being opposite my bed. I remember the forest burning down because I tried to build a fireplace in my house.
Another one that lies deep in my memories, it must've been when I first got the game in 2009. I built my house on the edge of a desert and plains. There was a big mountain nearby, that I created a waterfall on. My house was small, around 6x6? I had windows at eye level, and the second storey was entirely glass. I tried to make two columns of trees that ran parallel, leading to the door. I placed one of the saplings too close to my house and the leaves broke the glass when they grew. In the same world, I had a farm of some sort. I had it boxed in by glass and one morning I woke up to a spider in the corner bouncing on my wheat.
I'm not sure why I remember these moments so specifically, but I'm glad I do.

both are lovely memories. I remember having a superflat world too where I built everything that came up to my mind. The second memory is pretty fresh, it happened couple months ago. I used to talk with my online friend while I was playing minecraft in my new world. I already miss those times a lot : ) I also remember one time when my uncle showed me his and his friend's minecraft world. It was very fun to explore their world. What lovely memories indeed.
