"Three Years!!!???" that is where I fell out of my chair. lol I have been working on my yard for 4 and have 13 trees and half a thyme lawn to show. I need to step it up! lol
Wish here in Massachusetts we had gardens and gardeners like the ones Volunteer Gardener in TN finds for its videos. It is so bleak in this state, with sterile stretches of chemical lawns, and dismal looking shrubs, preened to one-inch of their lives, clinging to concrete foundations. Except my own space -- that started out as a new-construction builder's blitz, and now resplendent 20 years later with a score of majestic trees and native plantings, and wildlife habitats scattered throughout.

Beautiful! I have a sloped hill here in CO and want to terrace it with natural rock as you have. Did you just stack those and then put cement on top to secure? Looks great!

i keep on searching this kind of strategy in a sloping land area and how to harvest rain water land is dry in summer,there is no river or creek near. i don't know where to start . i want to protect the land for soil erosion,so i need a plant that can prevent,a plant that could be use to feed a goat or cow, or to plants fruits or vegetable, and build a strips in every 5 meters line so that i could plant any kind of vegetables. it is rely hard to take action to start to make this land useful & profitable. thank you for this video. I'am from Philippines , sorry not quit good in English..

weeds and leaves and mosquitoes?
Vetiver is a solution. It's also known as Patchouli plant.
My whole property is sloped we've. had problems here and there but what kind of runoff is this hillside catching? I understand that flood was bad but does all her neighborhood drain in her yard. It sounds like there's a friggin river that flows down it when it rains. Lol the flat area in my front yard fills up like a lake from time to time due to being under the street. Lol a street with a ditch on the other side but all the run off comes to us and vdot doesn't care. Our neighbors get it worse than us but the drainage system runs thru there back yard on down to the sinkhole that drains my entire subdivision! Scary lol
