Enjoy the bonus episode! I know it's the not the typical thing I would do, but I had a little spare time, and thought it'd be fun. Tune in next Thursday for a rare Mac retrospective for #MARCHintosh, and of course… more scam-busting / knock-off stuff is on the way. Turn the bell on! 🔔
you should speak/do a video with the developer of that who is also on RUclips aka. @Dave's Garage he also did a really cool video on the Windows task manager source code
If you’re interested, you might wanna check out a channel called “Dave’s Garage”, former developer for Microsoft, ported pinball to Windows. Here’s a short vid of his, but he has plenty more on his channel exploring plenty of Microsoft shenanigans in-depth. Guy is an absolute boss, he wrote task manager from scratch, his idea as a development tool, and enough people thought it was so good they decided to ship it with windows. Here’s a brief vid on pinball from one of his streams, highly recommend checking out the rest of his channel: ruclips.net/video/EvCgpRs5BtA/видео.html
This channel is so clean in all the ways! When I saw the viewer discretion warning I expected something "heavy" to come up, but it just the pee joke! Hahaha Thank goodness, I am trying to get rid of cursing on the content I watch an this was really refreshing in the middle of the cesspool the internet has become.
Windows XP was the first operating system I've ever used and 3D Pinball was the first game I ever played on it. It holds a special place in my heart, I'm sure it's also the same for many people of the 1990-2000s era. Glad you covered the game and uncovered the cheat codes; time to bust my XP VM because I don't have a XP PC at the moment :(
The guy who ported this game to Windows actually has a RUclips channel. His name is Dave Plummer and he also wrote the first incarnation of Task Manager as well as a few other Windows components.
you saying Lazy Game Reviews instead of just LGR made me laugh :P also yes the "professionel" is intended. You're using the Vista Inspirat theme / "bricopack" which was from CrystalXP, a French community, and "professionel" is how you spell the word in French :D (btw seeing that Vista Inspirat theme brought maaaany memories from back in the day!!)
How is it possible that I learned this now, instead finding out back in the early 2000s that there was a cheat code in a pinball game of all things?! Oh god, that's one part of my childhood, that I'm never going to get back...
I like how I used all of these cheats when I was like 10 and there were still PCs running XP and now I am here in 2021 watching a random guy on RUclips talking about these cheats again, while running XP on an old iMac! 😂
if you press [Y] it will change the title bar text to *Pinball* and then display frame rate information if you press [M] it will display memory info there are other commands but i can't recall what were those
I recall a story from around 20 years ago whereby Microsoft paid a bug bounty to a kid for a problem him found in this game. Unfortunately I can't find a link to the story.
The Amiga had Pinball Dreams and Pinball Fantasies, those were awesome back in the day and had the exact same sounds like this, so I wonder if the makers are the same or it was a nice ripoff.
Nope, I had no idea it was originally a Windows 95 game. I wonder what the other two tables were like. ...I do however remember that there was another cheat for limitless balls.
The highscore chart was a txt file which you simply could edit. I claimed #1 with the value of Pi for many years until my younger brother called it out because he was paying attention in school. :-D
That is too funny. I still use xp on some of my PCs but sadly I took the games off because they are for working not playing. The one home xp I left the games on and I loved killing time with this game. Recently I got a PC for my TV so I can stream videos and play a few games. My question is where can I get the 3d pinball game to install? I found one on e bay but it does not look the same. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you for the video, I have a few laughs the way you made the xp sound.
Without cheating, I've met nobody ever beat my score. All you have to do is hit the ball with the left stick so it goes into the loop with the 3 pins at the left. With some right timing, the ball will bounce up and down between the top and the left pins a few times. At that moment you'll need to tilt the machine slightly left or right to adjust it, don't tilt too much. It will ended up bouncing up and down never stopping. Then you can go do whatever you want and leave the game running. If you want it to accumulate score faster, just hit all 3 of the flips at the top so the color changes, that way you'll score more with each bounce. They go from blue, to green then red I think. Maybe yellow somewhere. It's been so many years I don't really remember. But my friends all hate me for betting stuff on it that I will always win without cheating.
I was staring at the .exe file on my Linux System through the whole video and I opened it with my Archive Manager to see if I had all the dependencies along with the Game file - I do!
Am I the only one who heard the sound of the points ticking up from ProgressBar95 when his "Scambusters" episode thumbnails showed up and disappearing?
Does anyone know how long it will take to reach the maximum 999,999,999 points mark without the hidden test? My guess was 12 hours. But is it longer than that?
I remember in school we used to have XP computers, with the XP games on them. I was pretty good at the game so when it was a computer lab period I played 3D Pinball Space Cadet. Easy to say that everybody near me was amazed at my skill lmao Edit: I didn't use any forums or anything like that (i was 8 or 9) and nobody in my class knew the cheat codes existed, and some didn't even hear of the game.
there is no point in doing any tricks in 3D Pinball Space Cadet when you can just edit the registry and write down as much points as you want in the leaderboard (its not straight forward just editing, they are a bit encrypted) ;) i did this back in 2004 when my sister boyfriend broke my record LOL

It _was_ fun!
Second one to reply :)

You have a french version of Windows and someone has changed the language after installation, that's why you have the French word of professional.

You’ve been trustworthy with Cheat Codes for the past 14 years
Yez
@Xienna God, I remember trying to run Marble Blast when I was younger to try and join a stream game.
Still a bit sad my PC just couldn't.
Pinball....the only game I knew how to play on windows XP as a kid, damn this is nostalgic.
I'll show you how to cheat at it, "responsibly." Well, that's all you had to say!

Ken: I have a mac with windows XP on it
"PEE ON IT?"
Me: lol

I wouldn't imagined that a cheat code has so simple. Just typing two words.
Lgr and michael mjd both have done episodes on space cadet. And I'm glad you are covering it.
Wow a short video that's straight to the point. Rare
Absolutely LOVED the format you chose for this bonus episode. Quick and fun
Thank you : )

i miss that game.
wish windows 10 had that game for nostalgia purposes
Nothing feels more nostalgic than CC old intro ❤️❤️😭😭
This was hilarious! Thanks Ken!
Wow I didn’t know about this cheat code
Have the same thing for windows 10!!!!!! (Windows updated and it's still there)
Now I've got 'Pinball Wizard' stuck in my head. Thanks. 🙃
That's how you spell professional in French! Do you have a French copy of Windows XP?
I remember first reading about this in an outdated Windows XP magazine in about 2013. Great times.
Secret About Box
Have you played the other two versions? There's a pirate and dragon one too!
Space pinball was the first game I ever played- love it!
I like how I used all of these cheats when I was like 10 and there were still PCs running XP and now I am here in 2021 watching a random guy on RUclips talking about these cheats again, while running XP on an old iMac! 😂
how amazing can you be at this
you know what , I think your the best computer channel I ever watched
Thank you : )
I like this intro a lot better than the old one!
Have you tried to test Gan tech bricks?
if you press [Y] it will change the title bar text to *Pinball* and then display frame rate information
if you press [M] it will display memory info
there are other commands but i can't recall what were those

Worms Pinball is where it's at. Should still be available on Steam for anyone after some classic worms sounds bundled in a different wrapper!
Nope, I had no idea it was originally a Windows 95 game. I wonder what the other two tables were like. ...I do however remember that there was another cheat for limitless balls.
I see the intro is updated
I actually read about this on Wikipedia yesterday! It’s pretty cool!
The highscore chart was a txt file which you simply could edit. I claimed #1 with the value of Pi for many years until my younger brother called it out because he was paying attention in school. :-D

I wish someone would make this table for real. Such a missed opportunity for that nostalgia
Can you do a similar video about Skifree?
Without cheating, I've met nobody ever beat my score.

Honest cheaters? What‘s next? Honest scammers? 😂
I love this game, when I have my first Mac I made a Wine "port" and I play Pinball in my Mac just like another app (and still) I love it
Am I the only one who heard the sound of the points ticking up from ProgressBar95 when his "Scambusters" episode thumbnails showed up and disappearing?
My whole family loved this game!
3D Pinball still works on Windows 10. You can download and install it
HEY IM PLAYED THAT GAME! AND there is a app version but not 100% the original and it always ends up falling in the middle.
Bumper go brrrrrrrrrr
There was even GMAXBMAX but I can't remember what that did
Just realized this is a new video because i tought you uploaded this already
Does anyone know how long it will take to reach the maximum 999,999,999 points mark without the hidden test? My guess was 12 hours. But is it longer than that?
i remember that cheat had so much fun using it
He's a true Pinball Wiz... ;-)
I will use this on my school's computer's virtual machine
Just to confirm yes this does work
I remember playing this game on my light navy blue viveo tower computer!
i wish that cheat would work on the full tilt version
I got it to work on mac using WineBottler
I wish they made this game in real life. I would buy it
PRO TIP: Typing in bmax will give you unlimited plays.
Nostalgic!

I used this a few times after I discovered it.
Well, that IS how you spell professional, in French, that is.
Well.. we now know what Ken does with his old computers.... xD 1:01
I don't know the cheat code for this.
Fun fact space cadet works on windows 10
Aight then.
It was great
you should speak/do a video with the developer of that who is also on RUclips aka. @Dave's Garage
