In all seriousness, I feel like Charlie and Pyro are one of the few content creators who actually make transformative react vids. Charlie actually give opinions and statements to the vid he's reacting and Pyro sometimes paused the vid he's reacting to every 5 seconds or he watched a full 1 minute of the video he's reacting to and have a 5 minute commentary on the content he's reacting to. Edit: For those who wants to mention Asmongold or other streamers, it’s not that I ignore them. I just use Charlie and Pyro as the example because they’re the ones that I’m most familiar with. Hence why I said “one of the few”, not the only ones.
hasan does this too. it’s literally a massive joke in his community or twitch in general that he turns a 20 minute video into a 1 and a half hour reaction. the chair clips are taken out of context and are like 5 minutes out of 8 hour streams.
@@zaxbysmindvirus Yeah I know. And I do know he doesn't do it as often but I do know that he often did leave the video on while he goes away for 3 minutes max. It's still part of the problem but hope he doesn't do it again. I don't want a situation where one day if I made a 10 minute vid and Hassan left and leaves the video on for 3 minutes.
I agree, not to mention there are many 'professional reacts' video out there that usually expands upon the video their covering. Hell, there's even a historical youtuber I watch who turn LEMMINO's recent video on the Kennedy assassination and turned it into a four-part series.
@@hihowrya370 I agree but I also think that a twitch reaction is still very different than an uploaded youtube video. It's especially bad when someone like xqc uploads a "reaction" to youtube because he's directly taking views away from the original video because it's on the same website. I do still agree that leaving the video on is bad, but i know hasan specifically will cast the video back to his phone when he gets up, and then pauses and commentates on what was just shown as soon as he gets back.
The cycle isn't people suddenly realizing reaction content is bad. People call it out when reaction streamers get lazy, and then a new group of people goes "hey I react but I actually add to the conversation!" and then people are cool with it until that person gets lazy and stops doing the thing that made them "escape" controversy in the first place.
And I think a BIG issue with streamer reactors is when they reupload their reaction to youtube unedited. There you have the opportunity to edit it down and add stuff (graphics or something if the streamer goes on a tangent). I've seen Hasan's videos on youtube and it seems like he does that. It shouldn't be too hard if they have an editor, imo
Pyro is the best reaction streamer I've seen. He actually reacts to things. He rarely lets the video go for more than a minute without saying something, unless its a longer point of the video or something
Big agree, his adhd helps him so much that he provides a lot of context and offers insight to the video. And tho we do make fun of him when he leaves, he comes back very quick.
Ever since the reaction commentary era he's always been the best. His sense of humor is chef's kiss. Bro was droppin straight bars at the playground insult match vs Leafy
@@KiingBiingCould you expand on how his adhd helps him, has he talked about it before? I’m genuinely curious, I have adhd myself. But each person is different of course
XQC doesn't seem fully aware that there should be precautions that come along with his actions. Now he'd have to pay for the consequences as a result of his actions.
Its not that he isn't aware, its just that he doesn't care. He mentioned on a podcast how in the past as a smaller creator,he would make drama so bad that he'd be kicked out of discord servers and then said that its become part of him as a person now( he also said that the kind of art he wanted to make as a creator was "consensual drama" btw). He didn't care before and I doubt he'd start to care now.
One thing I like about Pyro’s reactions is that he’ll upload an edited version of the stream. It doesn’t show the reacted video in its entirety. And he actually edits some funny stuff himself. Therefore, making transformative content
Also he credits people and doesn't leave out watermarks. And he makes actual content besides reactions on stream, his deep dives and long format videos are great. Ik the gaming streams aren't as popular but he does them anyway
I like how Pyro's motivation to stay on his toes and ensure that he's not just blankly reacting to video without any inputs, is his fear of becoming Hassan 💀
to be fair yeah pyro does reaction video but he doesn't just sit in silence like other channels, he actually pauses the videos, gives his thoughts and opinions and it's like a legit joy to watch the interaction he has with fans and the opinions he gives.
I honestly think you're one of the best people to watch a reaction of a video with. You actually put valuable/entertaining input on the video you're watching. I would also put you in an 'S' rank, as far as reaction based content goes.
I agree completely. It gets annoying when everyone calls his react videos bad and lazy when he is one of the only react youtubers that actually does his job and engages with the content and be entertaining.

At no point during that debate did ethan come off "child-like" or "petty" He showed very natural frustrations when XQC went into delusional rants and even showed a lot of restraint just to get the debate back on track. Ethen looked incredibly strong here.
I mean Ethan knew what he was getting into. I believe he had another agenda with this that people don't understand is that he's also defending youtube copyright and fair use laws. But also making XQC look utterly immature and stupid infront of the entire internet
At one point, xQc tried to challenge DarkViperAU to a Debate and talked mad crap about him, ViperAU accepted the Debate but xQc then backtracked and made every excuse on the planet to not debate. It's like he knows he's in the wrong against a guy that made mountains of proof and informative information against reaction streamers, so xQc cowers out.
The reason Pyro isn't being called out is 1) he's entirely self-aware about what he's doing 2) part of that self-awareness is because he isn't a react youtuber - he's a deep dive/commentary youtuber who is forced to put out slop so he can remain relevant (and financially stable enough) to make what he wants to. Yeah, 99% of the stuff Pyro puts out is slop for the piggies. Yes that includes me. Yes the piggies eat it up. But that 1% is platinum-tier, and he's fully aware that's the real reason most of us are here.

a less smelly turd is still a turd. reaction youtubers need a massive new youtube/twitch rule.. it should be like playing copywritten music IMO. you're basically getting free content from someone who actually made original content. i think if u cant work out a way to pay the OG creator 50% of whatever income u make from the react, then there should be no "fair use".
This whole resurgence of the react drama has made me come to gauge good vs bad react channels on the basis of "Do people go to them to watch them watch something or to just watch something with them." If you go to a creator to watch them react to something then it is their reactions and commentary you've come to see and less so the video they are watching. If you go to a reactor and are just kind of watching the video with them and treating them as someone who curates videos for you so you don't have to find them yourself. They might not be a very good react channel. Or at least one that could be counted as "harming the creator ecosystem."
Any little respect for X I have is lost when he's fighting a battle for a world where Big Streamers can just leech off of small content creators and get away with it.
@@tvh369actually only companies can claim revenue. RUclipsrs can only send copyright strike through RUclips itself. But that's exactly what they SHOULD be able to do.
@@tvh369to an extent yes. But with big streamers and especially reactive communities there's also an issue of if small creators being scared of retribution if big streamers complain about copyright claiming them.
@mordecaiissad8529 doesn't matter, they'll have to either comply with the guidelines and laws of said copyright and fair use also the owners explanation. Again if said small content creators have strong arguments and evidences to use against the big streamer that's as dumb as XQC they'd win a large sum of compensation along side youtube would take extra sum from XQC as further compensation for stealing other people's content and for breaking said rules/laws
@@koreancowboy42 sure. But we can surely agree there's some nuance to that. If you want to go for damages you need to be able to afford going to court and a legal team and it probably won't be as good as X's just cause the money he has, he's estimated at 10mil networth. X won't be his own lawyer he'll just throw money at people who will do the arguing for him, and no small creator will be able to match legal fees he can afford without blinking. Secondly, if they simply go for a copyright claim and be done with the videos being taken down (assuming RUclips complies), you're most likely going to get harassed to oblivion by X's millions of fans. And there's even an option of X being petty enough to complain and say crap himself as he famously refuses to take any responsibility for how he talks to his audience that results in them harassing others. A random small creator most likely doesn't want to get harassed and doxxed to oblivion over a copyright dispute with X. There was that case recently of the 2 girls that were "rude" to a random small influencer for recording them and the internet doxxed them, their families ,their boyfriends and their families, harassed and sent them death threats. I don't think it's unreasonable for small creators that would like to continue doing their work to fear that and want to avoid it. There's a question of power in the mix for sure, especially when the person and their fanbase are known to be reactive and toxic as hell.
he put the work before , besides if hes making people laugh then hes putting the work in just because hes where hes at now doesnt mean he didnt work at all for it , u cant simply open twitch and get 50k viewers lmao
Pyro is my fav slop chef/reaction streamer. It feels like sitting down to watch a video with someone and chat about it (although one-sidedly) rather than a video with a guys facecam in the corner. Pyros fanbase is so merciless but I hope he knows a lot of people enjoy his content. Not every video can be one of his 3 hour video essays, often it's nice to have some 'youtube you can eat your dinner to' content.
XQC really thought he could use the same tactic he uses on his viewers on H3 😂"Just explain in a really confusing and convoluted way so they give up trying to question you"
If someone starts a "reaction" and leaves the room he doesn't react and all he cares about is not to lose viewers. If he had a brb screen they would just switch to another stream (if they aren't afk too) but Ethans point of playing a video of himself is actually a good idea.
tbh h3h3 isn't that much good either, Hasan does the same but he is not as critical towards him but only targets xqc since people liked hasan more than xqc. but he also does reaction videos but is much worse by just laughing at the video and not talking at all, aka, his meatcanyon vid
@@cloud-homestudio8128 I'm heard about about Hasan and H3H3's problematic behaviour before, I just wasn't expecting X to ALSO be bad, aside from the whole "reupload other creator's videos with your face on the corner pogging and adding nothing", which definitely means a noticeable damage for the views of the original videos' creators.
just a quick note the graph ethan brings up at 14:57 actually negates the point that reaction content is harmful as you can see in the graph before the xqc uploads his reaction video the line is going down and has a steep curve however after X's reaction video the line shifts and while it still goes down it goes down less then it would have, meaning that xqc's reaction positively affected the performance of the video
tbf if u look at majority of hasan's vods, yes he may go for minutes without talking, but that's usually interrupted with long tangents which end up making the reaction vods up to twice as long (sometimes even more) as the original video, further elaborating on some of the stuff that's mentioned in the content, his views, etc

Ethan’s expression reacting to the time machine question was incredible.
I do still agree that leaving the video on is bad, but i know hasan specifically will cast the video back to his phone when he gets up, and then pauses and commentates on what was just shown as soon as he gets back.
right? if anything he has the most transformative content out there... he adds honestly TOO MUCH into his reactions
It shouldn't be too hard if they have an editor, imo
thats why i hate f*ckers who stop the video every few seconds
Pyro is the best reaction streamer I've seen. He actually reacts to things. He rarely lets the video go for more than a minute without saying something, unless its a longer point of the video or something
