W.A.S.P. Blackie Lawless Q & A at the Wiltern Los Angeles Final Night of the 40th Tour 12/11/22 WASP

- On Sunday December 11, 2022 W.A.S.P. played their final show on their 40th Anniversary Tour at the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles, CA. I did the V.I.P. Meet and Greet experience with Blackie Lawless and it was great. We got in before the doors opened and were able to hit the merch stand before the lines were bonkers. Next we got to watch a little bit of Armored Saint's sound check. Once they were finished they took us up on stage to take a photo with Blackie's iconic mic stand. After that they brought us backstage where we met with Blackie. He signed everyone's items (two each), took two photos each with him and were given a set of Blackie's guitar picks. After that he did a private Q & A with the fans where he let everyone ask at least one question. As you may have imagined my question was horror related. The Q & A alone was almost 40 minutes long. I've done several meet and greets over the years and this was one of the best experiences by far that I have had. Not to mention very affordable especially compared to others. To top it all off the concert itself was AMAZING!

Let's be honest, he was a great musician. Now he writes generic Christian rock and mimes 50 to 90% of his vocals. There is nothing great or clever.
@rockenOne He's 67 years old and still performing, writing, singing,etc... incredibly. If you're a musician i challenge you to listen to " the peace " a song released in 2018 by W.A.S.P and see what a treasure and a gym of an artist he is. W.A.S.P has never been a Christian rock band even though he sing about it. he's just soul searching on and off since 1992 😂😂
@yildirimbas a bit of a stretch to say he is singing when he mined up to 90%. A further stretch to say he is searching for meaning when he is stuck in the typical indoctrinated confines of religion. Redoing the crimson idol with that self censored snowflake dubb coupled with the last two albums being mediocre with zero creativity, they are just a WASP cover band.
@rockenOne His voice has always been beautiful and very unique. He's one of the last artists that still does real music today, and i appreciate that. you're still free to assume and think whatever you want from your perspective about music and religion. I love the guy, and I just wanted to thank him for presenting all that kick butt music over the years. 😊
@yildirimbas I am just being honest bud, it is tempting to be a fanboi and ignore it, but the reality is that he does not sing a shows any more (like a pop star) and has limited his ability to think creatively. This is not metal. This is a mediocre karaoke band that occasionally writes some Christian rock songs.

My best time was in smaller venue where every single person know actually the band,the songs and how many albums the band has.

Saw WASP live in 88 at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium. Metal Church was the opening band, great show! I got free tickets and backstage passes. Saw Lita Ford backstage and members Armored Saint who I talked to for a long time. Great nice totally down to earth

Onion Savoya. W.A.S.P. Tribute - The Crimson Covers released in 2010, from Germany, so keep your expectations tempered. Most of the bands don't exist anymore but there are some gems.

Blackie has a good head on his shoulders. I wish they didn’t use the background tracks though... I prefer 100% real performances. His voice has held up pretty well, so he really doesn’t need them.
In one of the last performances, the vocal track of "the flame" was entirely pre-recorded, so he was just lip-synching. What a shame

Saw him in vegas on the tour and it was great ,ticket prices were fair but I heard fans had to pay $350 for meet and greet backstage which is really sad.I know academy award winners who charge hundreds less ,even Ozzy charged $100 for book signing event,Slayer even charged less and these are bigger icons .Just wish he would charge normal prices to fans that still support him after 40 years.
I thought the price was very fair for everything you got. You got early entry where you got to see some of Armored Saint soundcheck. Then a tour of the stage and take pics on the stage with his famous microphone stand. You received a $50 merch voucher and got to hit the merch stand before the doors opened. You then got four of Blackie's guitar picks. A photo op with Blackie and then he signed two items for you. Then he sits down and does an almost hour long Q & A with the fans where everyone gets to ask at least one question. I thought it was a great deal.
@@malfuncsean I’ve met Ozzy for $100 and Slayer for $200 and front row for slayer show .I’m sure some people have no problem paying that much,just seen bigger icons of metal charge less .The tix prices to see wasp perform were excellent -only$40 so that I applaud him for.Just an opinion of mine.
@@MB1BUMPER But meeting Ozzy for $100 and just getting a book signed is different than all you get in the WASP package. If you got all that stuff for Ozzy it would have been at least $1,000 easy.

One guy gives Paul a ridiculous looking shirt he made with Paul and Steven Tyler on stage together for some reason and Paul has to pretend to like it. During Gene's, some kid has a guitar with an amp built in and he just walks up to Gene and starts playing Kiss riffs...then continues doing it while other people are asking questions and he has to he told to stop repeatedly

In the 80s interviews he was really pumped up & really enthusiastic & would say daring things. ...compared to this interview. He doesnt really act like a rockstar imo. he acts nice.
Well, maybe he is nice. Not really an interview, anyway. More of a laid back Q&A with fans. I like this better. Save the rock star persona for the stage.
Not much is known about his personal life...he's kind of mysterious. Is he married or has he ever been? Does he have kids? Siblings?
And why didn't we get the "full show " as initially advertised with torture rack, exploding cod piece, blood from skull, feathers, raw meat etc??
Id also like him to ask him to personally rank his albums from worst to best putting all someplace in order...and justify the rankings
