- "Evelyn Evelyn" are an exciting new songwriting duo comprised of the conjoined twin sisters Evelyn & Evelyn Neville. The girls have recently released their debut record (co-produced by Amanda Palmer of The Dresden Dolls and Jason Webley), toured Europe (despite volcanic-hangups), and are about to embark on a tour of North America, along with Palmer, Webley and their manager/chaperone Sxip Shirey (The Great Sxiphisto).

The story is enjoyable but for those who dont know: the twins are just jason and amanda dressed up and their background is purely fictional but makes a great story! One of the voices is obviously male and the twins arent identical

+Miawolf16 One of them couldn't of been a male because, that would suggest they were fraternal twins and that is not how conjoined twins are made. They are identical and come from the same egg so, they would have the same gender, height, eye color, etc. Identical twins (and conjoined) have the same DNA so there is no way one could've been a male and the other a female. I rest my case.

No. They are not actually conjoined twins. The "twins" are actually just Amanda and Jason wearing the same dress to make it appear as if they are Siamese Twins. Yes, the Neville sisters were real people, but they are both currently dead.

Actually, they weren't real. They're fictional and so is their story. Sorry to pop your bubble. I have, however, heard that they were based off of a graphic novel.

Nope, the Neville twins never existed. If you google "Neville conjoined twins" the only thing that pops up is Evelyn Evelyn (Amanda and Jason). The twins are and never were real. It's all fiction.

Ok, from what I can tell...the Evelyn sisters aren't real, but are BASED on two real conjoined twins. Amanda and Jason dress up as them and perform the music (both the vocals and instrumentals). The whole album is BASED on the lives of the two twins, but isn't actually performed by the twins.
I keep seeing different variations of the story, but this was just my conclusion. I still have no idea what's true or not.

In all honesty it I adore the back story of Evelyn. Of course they aren't real but I still am amazed by it. Maybe one day there will really be two conjoined twin singers.

Ah, the thing about the sisters though is that they're too shy to come out on stage and sing in front of everyone so they get Amanda and Jason to sing for them, but they're the ones who come up with the music. They possibly have this stage fright because they're conjoined and the circus life before that was probably not that nice towards their self confidence.

Anastasia Beaverhausen they're are quite a few conjoined twins including these two, o think their real also for all the ppl that said she drew her eyebrows on if she did it's because she was using something call a Eyebrows pencil! i still in love the fact that they set up this "behind the music" thing as an actual story with amanda and jason refering to themselves as "the twins". As if they actually exist. I just love it so much.

This is a concept project by 2 artists about a pair of conjoined twins.
Not an attempt at pop stardom by a pair of conjoined twins.
Also conjoined twins are always the same sex having split from the same embryo.
If you haven't listened to the title song Evelyn Evelyn it is well worth a listen, as it is haunting and memorizing, as well it really makes you consider the struggle for a sense of self when you share a body and identity.
Edit: there is also a Q and A part and a companion graphic novel.

The amazing thing about this whole Evelyn evelyn thing is that the album ends with them releasing a song on the internet, and then they make it seem as though the twins wrote the songs and go on stage like their careers as musicians took off, it's beautiful story telling, how to bring fiction into real life!

I got to see a teeny sneaky rehearsal on Friday, and it was MARVELOUS! I haven't enjoyed a show on ALL levels like that in ages. Pure beauty, hilarity, and literature.

Okay so for those who seriously want to know PARTYPOOP ALERT the sisters are not real. They're fictional characters but Amanda and Jason just want to keep the fun in it, but it's been 6 years so I feel like I can tell this. Those pictures of "Eva and Lyn" as babies were incorrect, and if you look closer, not even conjoined, and also OBVIOUSLY NOT from the 80s and 90s, so yeah sorry, but it's a beautiful tale and an incredible concept album. I don't think you're stupid and couldn't figure that out yourself, I'm just trying to be helpful cause I honestly doubted if it was real or not.

Ok, so from what I can tell, the twins are not real. They’re played by Amanda and Jason, and the whole story is made up.
Think of it like a movie loosely based on real events. They have created characters that they have a whole backstory for, but Evelyn and Evelyn are not real people.

I was in my favorite Record Store today, I was originally there to pick up my reserved order of the soundtrack to the film One From The Heart by Tom Waits & Crystal Gale. And the film Down By Law, it was expected to be there in two weeks, I got there in four weeks. I thought I was leaving empty-handed, but I spotted this album, on vinyl. I listened to it in the store for a few tries, I didn't like it, sounded like a nightmare. But it grew on me, and it came with the Compact Disc inside, awesome.

This may be a bold statement but I think that Evelyn Evelyn is, hands down, the best set of conjoined twins since Chip and Biff Oblong.
