You can try to only rake the product through your hair. Don’t use the praying hands method. Just raking until fully absorbed. Use a really strong hold gel. When 85% dry you can gently scrunch it just a bit and then shake your head horizontally. Also diffuse while your hair is hanging down. You can then pick it out just a little bit when it’s 100% dry
