Thanks for this video and for showing your extreme professionalism and top notch job quality! Please explain me why is this happening, I have a gold top from 2022 and the frets are too small, I unfortunately miss this when I bought the guitar in the shop. now its affecting my playing and I probably need to to a refret, unfortunately I live in Europe and can't take my guitar too you! But can you explain me what is the thing behind these small frets? I appreciate thanks!
Gibson has used multiple fret sizes in their history. The fret size on your guitar may have been chosen to replicate an era when that size fret was used. Beyond that I would not know their reasons.
Yea, I wish I was able to put a radius into my saddles. Unfortunately, that's not an option since all of my fretboards are 14 inch(or whatever 350mm is) radius or more. It also makes it difficult to find an ABR1. So far, I know of the Gotoh GE104B, IIRC, and that's it. It has like 14.78"(or whatever 400mm is) radius or something and it's the only one I know of thats not overly expensive. I never even thought about getting something like a Faber with saddles that have no notches. Lol. That just crossed my mind as I was typing this out. Duhhhh. I'd have bought those had I realized this sooner lol. Already have Faber aluminum tailpieces and tone lock studs on them all, with Gotoh abr1's Man I'm such a dunce lol. I wish I would have thought of that before now. That would solve my intonation issues, also, because you can't flip gotoh saddles around easily without potentially wrecking the bridge. Whereas a Faber is very simple. Guess I'm buying a Faber bridge soon lol. If it works out, I'll be buying 3 more.
This guitar came in with the hardware already on it. I usually recommend TonePros and then I slot it due to Gibson being sloppy with lining the bridges and necks up. If you DIY and are not able then pre slotted is the option.
Loved that. Happy New Year!
Another job 'well done' ! With the 'Gogo Stamp of Approval' ! 😃
