Dragonetti's Basse de Violon

This basse de violon was bequeathed in 1846 to Prince Albert by Domenico Dragonetti, the great virtuosi of the double bass who knew both Haydn and Beethoven. It was later put at the disposal of Queen Victoria's Private Band where it was played to entertain the queen and her guests.
