Netflix was so smart to pick up this show. Millions of people wanted it revived. Just imagine how many new subscribers Netflix will get. I also love that they finally have the opportunity to be more mature with the show. I would love to see some proper gore/nudity/swearing on the show. It would bring some much needed realism to the show. Can't wait ^^

Joy Bhowmick absolutely! And I'm glad that the season will be more condensed. Like Tom said, US networks are notorious for stretching stories to fit twenty-something episodes, diluting the story, instead of letting the story drive the episode count.
Netflix picking up Lucifer has to be the best thing for Luifer.. The show is now going to be more dark..mature...and intersting..

I feel like it got cancelled in the first place because they thought not enough people were watching it. But the thing is, people usually watch the show online on other websites. Now that it's on Netflix there will defenitely be more viewers.
Well it's Fox and they are kind of up their own arse, they don't really think outside of their own little domain. Just look at the other great shows they've cancelled over the years.

Being on Netflix doesn't mean more viewers because not everybody has Netflix simply because they don't want to pay or can't spend money on it. But being on Netflix will make sure that ratings are less of a issue. Major channels such as Fox only care about viewership. The moment it dips to low you'll get axed. Just look at Supergirl for example. Her first season ratings on CBS were still better at the end of the season then anything the show gets on The CW but that wasn't good enough for CBS so the show had to change channels to keep it from getting axed.
Yes but what matters to them is if they watch it on fox, because obviously they don't make money if you watch it elsewhere. A billionaire company won't care what people think, they see the stats and they were unhappy about them so they cancelled it.

Well, saying "Bloody hell" is swearing. And I don't know what you've been watching but 'Lucifer' is one of the most mature shows out there. Saying "Fuck", "Fucking" etc. doesn't make you more mature if that's what you're trying to get at.
MysteriousMadness Official I see where you are coming from in saying Lucifer is one of the most mature shows out there which is a pretty “wrong” statement since the rating on Lucifer is tv-14 and on many other shows the rating is tv-ma, I don’t want Lucifer to go aim for a mature audience cause it will probably lose fans, or even gain but the fact that Netflix will most likely make it a little more darker is pretty cooolool

Being mature is partly about being critical to information, meaning that you actually have to question whether or not the information that is being shared is actually true and whether or not it makes sense.

I can't express how HAPPY I am with Netflix bringing the show back!! This show has so much to offer it's not what people think just by the title. Fox screwed up BIG time but hey we aren't gonna look back, no more commercials, all Lucy (I hope for like 45 min) I do hope he gets to keep his wings with his devil face because all the good he does and with as much as he's changed he deserves those as he puts it "blasted wings" 😈😇 most definitely a little devilish with a dash of angel lol. Firefly, gone but not forgotten. Fox doesn't do well with planning great shows. If only Netflix was around for some of the castoffs from Fox early 2000s and late 90s.
I just started the show a week ago (I watch a LOT of tv shows) and the past year I haven’t had many shows that REALLY had me hooked. And I have to say that Brooklyn 99 and Lucifer are really my new addictions! And I am SO glad that it has been picked up!

I really appreciate what he said about the story being more continuous, he was right, season 3 was such a big stretch, I didn't enjoy so much the chapters that took place in the past, I don't feel like we needed all those flashbacks, I just wanted to know what was happening right there in the present moment.

The social media campaigns really helped since that mean the international audience had an equal voice giving them the numbers to get picked up on Netflix. It will be interesting to see how it is a different show on a streaming service with 10 episodes instead of 22.

That's exactly what I think. Chloe has always known, but never admitted it, she's been too afraid, telling herself otherwise. Lucifer will in my opinion be the one to run away because he's also too afraid, to know what life will be like when Chloe knows. He'll lock himself up I his penthouse and go into the same state he did when he killed Uriel. Chloe will make an attempt to reach out to him, but will fail. Eventually, it will dawn on her that her previous roommate, Maze, was indeed a demon. She'll go out of her way to make sure she doesn't see Maze, she'll be flakey for work, due to trying to process everything and reach out to Lucifer. Soon enough, she'll confront Linda who will ultimately be able to talk to Lucifer. Idk what comes next tho lol

I just binged 3 seasons of Lucifer on Netflix, even though I had seen most of the first 2 seasons when they aired live on cable TV. I was perplexed about the final 2 episodes, like "Why are they here?!"... and this interview explains that, so now I understand... thanks for that! I am so happy that Netflix picked up the show, and can't for season 4!

Netflix being a freaking Savior to so many fans. I just started watching it (found it when I was searching for something to watch between the CW show breaks) and fell in love with it.
FOX always produces the greatest shows then cancels then within 3 seasons.
Lucifer has a gang of fans in New Zealand and Australia. A lot of friends and family watch this show. We were gutted about the news of it being dropped, and then happy when Netflix picked it up! It's now the reason so many of my friends and family have now subscribed to Netflix lol

Awesome interview! Thank you. I have a theory as well for Lucifer and Chloe's relationship coming forward would for me be like Chloe actually completely accepts it and from day one she actually gets to use it for her to scare some bad dudes when they do not cooperate.
Now, that would be interesting, if she used him that way to seek justice.
I don't really see that happening, becouse in the past when Lucifer has showed his real face out of the blue like that, the victims have always gone kind of insane. I don't think they would be able to cooperate after that.

The other seasons will be on Netflix in the US probably starting in the fall. As for other countries that depends on the current right holders. And there is no official release date yet. I assume they will release it around spring.
Once Netflix picked the show I actually heard the news that the show would air only in 2019 because Netflix already made the schedule... I hope they can make some change...can't wait that looooonggff
Yes, those seasons will definitely be on Netflix. The episodes were already available on Netflix in some countries where Fox obviously isn't aired, which had helped in them gaining a global following. It's not a surprise really that Netflix picked them up, since they already had syndicated rights for certain countries to begin with, combined with the huge fan outpouring for Lucifer to return.
I don't know how they're doing it because the show was first moved onto hulu not netflix....

I'm a newbie to the show. Saw it listed on Netflix and was intrigued. 1st season episode 6 so far. All the actors are brand new to me and that's a good thing. When I saw the name Jerry Bruckheimer attached I figured it would be a quality show. So far liking it a lot. Tom Ellis brings the right combination of sass and danger. His sidekick reminds me of Hallie Barry. His set -up with the therapist is great. It's lots of fun but also food for thought on the whole biblical conception of hell and the devil. Much like Netflix's series THE GOOD PLACE that does the same thing with Heaven. Or Netflix's Sabrina about witches. Or True Blood with vampires. I loved them all. So Netflix is good for 3 seasons so far. With a fan base like the show has I'm sure there will be more.
