Yeah Shae in the show is so different from how she was in the books, and I think the show actress did a great job especially with the route the show took. In the books, its 100% obvious she's just a whore in it for the money, and all her "warmth" is just an act bc her client is paying. In the show there is a bit more gray area, you can see why Tyrion got fooled into thinking it was more than what it was. She wasn't this sweet perfect person all the time, which is not what you'd expect from a sex worker. So you could more see how Tyrion fooled himself into thinking love was there
Even Indira Varma can't act her way out of bad writing. Ironically, they kept her on screen coz of her acting skills, Ellaria would have already been out after the trial. Also, the Shae actress actually made the character more human, she was COLD in the books. I dunno what they were thinking when they wanted Shae to be warm.
Also keep in mind that Sibel who played Shae couldn’t really communicate in English when she stared shooting. She is a German native speaker and her English skills were really limited. I think she did a terrific job when you take into consideration that she had a hard time understanding her co stars and the directors
i think it’s clear the list was written by men. shae is supposed to be cold, but attractive to keep tyrion’s interest. i don’t think men can rationalize being deeply, romantically interested in cold women. also the addition of an incredible actress like gwendolyn christie felt a little off
The list is a bit ridiculous. All the Dorn character actors were great, their roles were pointless and their lines were garbage but that's got nothing to do with their acting. Tommen was absolutely perfect. The role is a sweet, innocent child that's used as a tool by everyone and he played the role perfectly. The first mountain had what, one scene with no dialogue and I still think he played it well. You got a feeling for his size and his temper which is exactly what the scene was supposed to do. Shae was clearly written differently than she was in the books, more a co conspirator, which I would say is actually better given that the books basically tell us Tyrion somehow believed the innocent girl spiel performed by a camp follower and was absolutely shocked when it turned out the prostitute who's loyalty and affection he was buying would turn on him for money. By having her be more honest and open you can see why his guard would be down. He knows all the tricks and the playacting, he knows how prostitutes try to separate him from his money, but she wasn't treating him like a client. It was a mutually beneficial arrangement but one that seemed based on more than just money. So finding out that there was in fact no honor among thieves actually hurt, because he knew she didn't love him, but testifying against him? For money? That hurt. And the actress played that role extremely well especially when you consider she barely spoke English.
Eh Shae in the books was literally a prostitute. She never said she loved Tyrion neither did she ever act like she loved him. In fact she was extremely nonchalant about Tyrion marrying Sansa. Most of my complaints come from the changes made when adapting the material from literature to the big screen.
I feel like anyone mentioned in the later seasons doesn't count. When you think about what kind of dialogue the actors had to work with later seasons uhhhh. Yeah I don't care how good an actor you are. There's no way you can say the line "You want the good girl but you need the bad hooha." and have people take you seriously after that.
@jerraddennis2225 funny, you could've easily looked it up and seen that it's actually true, but instead you decided to be lazy and just call someone a liar. Great decisions 👏🏽
Whoa! Daario mk1 Ed Skrein was FAR BETTER that the Plank of Wood that replaced him Ed Skrein's daario could clearly get the ladies wet, plank boy not so much
@RoonMian it seems the website is talking about actors since their only complaint about Shae was with the talent of the actress (which is bullshit in my opinion because that actress made me care about a charecter who in the books is nothing more than a teenager in way over her head)
Personally I absolutely love Ed Skrein as Daario Naharis. I haven't read the books, but a leader for a band of bad ass mercenaries should be someone who makes you feel uneasy. Ed made me feel uneasy. Apparently Daario fancied Daenerys, but you never knew for certain if it would all change in an instant and would kill everyone. There was a threatening aura around that guy. Then suddenly we got the Patrick Dempsey simp version, who just felt like the most supportive lapdog ever. That guy was not a leader of the Seven Sons, I can tell you that
Once they changed Daario I stopped paying attention to the character. They literally changed him to a guy that looked nothing like the first guy, acted nothing like him either. You literally couldn't have two people be so different in their look and portrayal of the same character.
@@nostalgicbliss5547 Strange choice. They often introduced new characters this way, so I just assumed it was a completely different character for a long time, until I realized
@@samsamsam446 Haha, good point! A fan of Patrick Dempsey, I see. I do think both of them have some hotness about them, but I definitely can understand why Dempsey would have wider appeal

The list is irrelevant to anyone from seasons 5 thru 8. The characters were poorly written and the actors had no real motivation as even the writers changed from episode to episode. I actually like the first Dario. He had the confidence to play the role as it was meant to. Loras was great. The actor who played Xaro was also good. What more does one need from him?
I disagree! The first actor playing Dario was rather fascinating & highly convincing. Pity that he had other engagements & opportunities. He held his own quite well.
The first Dario was definitely more intimidating and off putting, which is how he is the books. He also just looks like he would be a leader of the second sons. Second Dario does not, he's just generic hot guy #3407 who likes Dany. First Dario could have been so good, it's too bad they scrapped him

Ellaria’s actress was never bad tbh. She just had terrible material, but she delivered it the way it was supposed to be delivered, in a Disney villain-esque way. Her last scene displayed great acting, and she wasn’t even talking
You can't blame the actors for poor writing. Look at Jon Snow's lines from the last season. It was a disaster, and I'm glad those idiots aren't writing House of the Dragon.
And yet it is still terrible. Martin has allowed the show runners and writers to change important storylines, drop/combine characters and to cast boring, unattractive actors.
@@livingincaptivityIII you have a contradiction in your own reply, but I’ll let you re-read your comment to figure that out (Hint: Look at your last sentence again) As for HOTD, it’s based on a fantasy book, not historical facts (For example, the Last Kingdom and Vikings had great reviews, but were historically inaccurate)…it doesn’t matter. Now if you want to go non-historical, very few TV shows of all time have copied straight from a book. Also keep in mind that Sibel who played Shae couldn’t really communicate in English when she stared shooting. She is a German native speaker and her English skills were really limited. I think she did a terrific job when you take into consideration that she had a hard time understanding her co stars and the directors
- what accent is that?
- ...foreign...
😅😅😅
i think it’s clear the list was written by men. shae is supposed to be cold, but attractive to keep tyrion’s interest. i don’t think men can rationalize being deeply, romantically interested in cold women. also the addition of an incredible actress like gwendolyn christie felt a little off
I'm Shae da funny whore!!!!!!
I don't think anyone who did well in seasons 1 - 5 should be faulted for bad performances in later seasons. They had little to nothing to work with.
I think Tommen was actually acted well.
Tommen tomatoes 🍅🍅🍅
Tommen was very believable in that role for sure
Only good scene with the Sand Snakes was the Queen of Thorns roasting them into silence.
I liked the first Daario, he's more in line with his book counter part. 2nd Daario was boring.
Okay, you can’t blame the sand snakes when their most iconic line is “You want a good girl, but you need the bad 🐱”
The sand snakes were victims of bad writing, not bad acting.
they dont look like real wariors. Too much comedy.
Nah, Tyene’s actress was atrocious. She can’t act for shit
I agree
It was a bit of both. The Sand Snakes were given shit to work with but none of them are good actors either.
@@Ronfost89 1 of them is keisha castle hughs nominated for an emmy at 13 years of age
The worst casting was the second Daario. He reminded me of nothing the book described.
Eh Shae in the books was literally a prostitute. She never said she loved Tyrion neither did she ever act like she loved him. In fact she was extremely nonchalant about Tyrion marrying Sansa. Most of my complaints come from the changes made when adapting the material from literature to the big screen.
Woooooow, wtf!? The First Dario was just perfect for the role and the second Just.......
It’s more of a writing problem D and D gave up after season 4 when GRRM left
The first Dario was leaps and bounds better than the second one.
like he was incredibly good, the second one was sooo boring and generic
Fr i don't understand the take, first Daario had so much personality and mastered the art of the smirk
Second Dario was a skinny handsome guy who wasn't the perfect guy for the role
And he was great in DEADPOOL TOO! The creator of this video is nuts to say he was terrible!! 🤨 NUTS.
Second Dario was a good actor just a bad casting
Blaming actors for bad scripts is so stupid
I feel like anyone mentioned in the later seasons doesn't count. When you think about what kind of dialogue the actors had to work with later seasons uhhhh. Yeah I don't care how good an actor you are. There's no way you can say the line "You want the good girl but you need the bad hooha." and have people take you seriously after that.
That’s a good point but Euron had terrible writing and also was not a good actor to play Euron Crow’s Eye.
I searched for someone mentioning that line, thanks.
The middle school lines were awful. Trion can't get enough dick jokes and I recall there was even some fart humor. Just terrible what they did
The first Dario was so fine. The second one was so bland
Funny that Shea was on the list when Martin said that was his favorite character of the show.
no tf he didn’t 😂😂 you just completely made that up
no, that's true. he did say that.
@jerraddennis2225 funny, you could've easily looked it up and seen that it's actually true, but instead you decided to be lazy and just call someone a liar. Great decisions 👏🏽
@@thechosenonetim7738 shut up. you’re a weirdo.
Ive dated women like Shae. I thought she played the role very well
Thats conan Stevens not ian white.. conan was the first mountain and white was the 2nd
Whoa!
Daario mk1 Ed Skrein was FAR BETTER that the Plank of Wood that replaced him
Ed Skrein's daario could clearly get the ladies wet, plank boy not so much
How is Grey Worm not on this list? Easily the worst performance in the show.
But i loved gwendoline as Brianne she was awesome. And the scene with elaria, her daughter with cersei broke my heart
IMO good choice, only reasonable complaint that she is not ugly (but Tyrion also is too handsome compared to books)
“Also terrible in Deadpool”? Fuck that, Ed Skrein fucking kills it as Francis
We forgot Ed Sheeran and his soldier buddies.
OMG I really really have forgotten about that!!!!😅
I haven't heard that one before
Its the new one
Great line for the fans imo
wtf you smoking? The first Dario was so much better than the second. They actually had chemistry.
Worst characters or actors?
Performancea
Worst characters. Sibel Kekili is an amazing actress. She can play "warmth", she obviously wasn't directed to.
@RoonMian it seems the website is talking about actors since their only complaint about Shae was with the talent of the actress (which is bullshit in my opinion because that actress made me care about a charecter who in the books is nothing more than a teenager in way over her head)
The sand snake actresses were terrible.
The sandsnakes 😭 "You want a good girl, but you need..." I'll never forgive D&D for this bs
Omfg ikr! WTF kinda writing is that 😭😭
that line makes me physically ill every time i hear it 😂😂
I wouldn't count anything from the last few seasons. Not fair to the actor.
The first Dario was MILES better than that bum they replaced him with who looked NOTHING like the first guy. Didn’t even try with the recasting
Nr 1 Should be the second Dario, he was a downgrade form the first one and all his scenes were boring
I liked the first Dario!!
My jaw went to the floor when he appeared he was fantastic! It was like they killed off a character when they replaced him!
Nah Ellaria’s acting in S4 and her reaction seeing Oberyn’s head explode was perfect
The second guy to play Daario is the hottest man on the entire show so idc if he sucks lol
@@samsamsam446 Haha, good point! A fan of Patrick Dempsey, I see. I do think both of them have some hotness about them, but I definitely can understand why Dempsey would have wider appeal
@@samsamsam446well I’ll respect your opinion but first Dario was smokin hot! But I have a thing for men with long hair!
The first Daario was lovely. I was most disappointed when he was replaced!
I personally think loras and Shae were perfectly cast. Even the actor who plays loras looks like loras from the books. I also don't know why Euron isn't number one on this list. The sand snakes could each be on the list. Also Brianne shouldn't be on this list at all.
Agree with everything you said.
The problem with Euron was not the actor it was the terrible script writing. They changed him from a badass pirate to a biker dude
A few people here are just there because of the writing, but I'll say Lancel was written well and played well. Loras sucked as Iron Fist though
Agreed justice for Lancel! I really enjoyed his performance!
I thought Loras did an excellent job, honestly.
Nah ed skiern was great in deadpool
Second most fun character in that movie idk what kinda of garbage “bad in Deadpool” is
@@starvvoythat was a bizarre little shot they threw in. Never heard anyone complain about Francis.
The first Mountain was the best. The third one was very young for that role.
I disagree!
The first actor playing Dario was rather fascinating & highly
convincing. Pity that he had other
engagements & opportunities.
He held his own quite well.
The first Dario was definitely more intimidating and off putting, which is how he is the books. He also just looks like he would be a leader of the second sons. Second Dario does not, he's just generic hot guy #3407 who likes Dany. First Dario could have been so good, it's too bad they scrapped him
Your #4 is WRONG!! his replacement was a boring hippie tall goofy man.
Ian Whyte was the second Gregor in season two at Harrenhall.
Conan Stevens was the first Gregor. 7 ft tall and built like a pro wrestler. Best Gregor physically, I say.
The 3rd mountain was 6'9" 430 lbs and played by literally the World's Strongest Man lol I go with him
“Also wasn’t good in Deadpool” is a savage statement.
What Culture is pretty terrible now tbh, so they cannot call anyone out lately.
First Daario was miles better than the trash they had to settle with when he couldn't make the next season.
Loras, Elaria, Brienne and Lancel? ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?! I’m blocking this channel. Lancel was given sh*t in season fine and was brilliant before that point and I won’t even bother to comment on the other 3 because you guys are clearly insane and wouldn’t understand anyway.
Ellaria’s actress was never bad tbh. She just had terrible material, but she delivered it the way it was supposed to be delivered, in a Disney villain-esque way.
Her last scene displayed great acting, and she wasn’t even talking
Wtf Brienne was great in season 2
Tommen? Definitely don’t agree at all!
@@livingincaptivityIII you have a contradiction in your own reply, but I’ll let you re-read your comment to figure that out (Hint: Look at your last sentence again)
As for HOTD, it’s based on a fantasy book, not historical facts (For example, the Last Kingdom and Vikings had great reviews, but were historically inaccurate)…it doesn’t matter.
Now if you want to go non-historical, very few TV shows of all time have copied straight from a book. Because creatively, you’re allowed to do more in a book compared to a TV show (more complex characters, more minor characters, more detail when describing settings, more taboo events, etc…. GRRM mentioned that before.
But if you want to write a book similar to HOTD or write your own TV show to submit to HBO, then I’ll be happy to see that.
I preferred the first Dario Naharris. We never got to see what he could’ve done with that roll cos they replaced him instantly
The worst was the 2nd Mountain
He looked like just a random soldier of Lannister's army with zero evil vibe 😅
Better than Haffnor if you ask me, he just had very low screen time. He was also played the giants.
@@furkans.9749 No he wasn't. He had the voice, but nothing else. The third mountain at least had the frame.
@@nostalgicbliss5547 Ian Whyte doesnt have frame? He is bigger than Haffnor (not thicker but considerably taller), check out his pictures on google.
Brienne being included here is WILD. Also, people just didn't like Ellaria as a character itself. The actress did the best she could with what she was given.
1st Dario > 2nd Dario tbh
Grey Worm was also terrible
I genuinely think this list was created to trigger fans because what the hell! I don’t even know where to begin so I won’t.
The Shae actor is amazing. She’s actually friends with George Martin now and Georgia. Martin is on record saying that she elevated the character beyond what it was in the books.
He's her "friend" because she's a p0rn star
The Elaria Sand actress Imara Varma is very good - she just didn't have the script - ditto the Sand snakes I think.
Make your own list of weakest performances based on acting ability instead of the dialogue they were given
The sand actress with the short hair? Bro you should check out the jail cell scene where bronn is dying from poison.
I definitely was thinking that while watching this. She’s far and away the best Sand Snake. Ha even if that’s faint praise.
What about it it was trash
@@veeyan6882and you are the garbage can
@@veeyan6882 T*ts are trash?
You have to admit, that “bad pussy” line was hilarious. 😂😂😂
Worst actor is the one who played Urine Greyjoy
Really weird he wasn’t mentioned, right? Some of these were bad writing more than bad actors. He was terrible for both.
@@TheAbominableDrFaustushe wasn't terrible for both,
@@zherean42069 I’m open to hearing other people out but what specifically about his writing or delivery did you enjoy? He’s basically not even the same character as the books. Yeah, that guy was a real pisser.
@@tedwojtasik8781😂😂
Ed skrein as dario always looked smug, his face drove me nuts
that was Conan Stevens not Ian white..
Well that is kinda bound to happen when your show have like 200 characters for season. If there was so much talent in the industry to fill all these roles perfectly we wouldnt have all the crappy movies and tv shows we do today.
