Stumbled across your vid from watching something else. Anyway, I can relate to alot of your daily routines. I've spent 21yrs in a wheelchair (T-12 Paraplegic) from a 27 foot fall. Life in a chair can be very challenging at times but it's not bad. Just remember to laugh and make jokes about it. We really are not handicap we just can't walk. That's what I tell myself anyway. If I could give any advice (not that you asked haha) it would be to stay busy and active. Participate in adaptive sports and spend time with other para's you would be amazed at what you learn. Keep up with the positive attitude and remember to laugh and joke its what keeps us from going insane on a frustrating para day!!!!
Just like everyone says, you ARE very beautiful however, more than that, you have a great personality! I love your humor, creativity and most importantly, your positivity! Some people are beautiful with a terrible attitude. You have it all girl! I believe that your channel is therapy for yourself, as well as all of us because, even for those of us who are not physically disabled, your positivity brings joy to our day. Now, I know that doesn’t mean you don’t struggle, and we are here for you in those times too, so never be afraid to share a down moment. Many RUclipsrs feel like they always have to create perfect content. I don’t view you that way but, if you ever feel stressed about producing, fear not! We love you as the human you are.
You are not letting what happen to you stop you from living your life. No doubt you are going to have an amazing life. Thank you so much for sharing your story. I am sure it is very inspiring to even people that have use of their legs...but have other issues that are stopping them from living their best life. Sending you lots of hugs & love! Theresa from Florida
I have the same hand controls that beep like that when I crank the car!! The sound was so familiar I didn’t notice it until you said something!!! ☺️ Happy Valentines 🤍
I am a 15-year-old paraplegic I have been a paraplegic for about a year due to cancer that moved from my brain to my spine. It was a drastic change in my life, and I felt like I was lonely and there was no one like me. but watching this video was really inspiring to me, and I was hoping maybe you or someone in the comments could reach out to me about any teenage support groups in the Dallas Texas or Forth Worth Texas area.
So many people have lost hope in their life. You are giving joy by being simple and true to who you are. I love the sky and that at 16 you admire it as well brings joy. Stay happy positive and hopeful. Love your Chanel...
you're so pretty and i love your energy!!! found your video bc i was currently studying SCI and your video made me more inspired to become a physical therapist 🥺🤍 i hope you're well and healthy!!
Great vlog and very positive attitude and outlook. I will say adaptive cross fit is so much fun where I live they have a program which is great the last trainer I had was a T4 Complete but he competes in ironman which is crazy. think I saw that you waterski as well which is awesome. I have tried water skiing but for me it caused alot pain but it was alot of fun. You have a great outlook, keep it up I do wish when I got hurt I had a positive attitude. But I changed & look at life differently now and me personally I try alot of adaptive sports and try to stay positive and do as much as I can(I often tell people let me show you what I can do vs assuming what I can't do) . Not sure if you have checked out disabled sports USA they have various adaptive sports listed by state and places that offer those sports.
I do want to apologize up front if I have overstepped in anyway I am not trying to be disrespectful in anyway. I did reply to a few people because there are a some creepy responses to some of your videos. I do follow a few pages with similar medical conditions that I personally have and some things people ask or comment on are weird and creepy, I personally feel and I maybe wrong and kind of old. school but that something needs to be said to creepy people like the guy that asked for you to demonstrate how you get dressed. I know from my own experience that is something I was taught early on when I was in rehab & I have adapted what they taught me but I wouldn't ask a stranger on the internet that question. Have a great weekend again sorry if I am overstepping, I watch videos like yours because its inspiring to see what others with similar injuries. Also some videos are helpful and give me ideas of things to try.
Thank you! And I definitely will look into more adaptive sports in my area! Also completely agree about the people assuming what you can't do but I guess for now we will just have to prove them wrong:)
Know you posted one of your workouts in a video which I am going to try it, but few things that I enjoy in crossfit, ball slams are a favorite(great stress relief as well) , but a good challenge is box transfers, gym I go to has various height boxes and almost like going up and down stairs but sideways(each rep increase the height), but my favorite cardio and a great workout besides rowing, but requires a slight incline or hill, but I normally start going up the hill twice normally trying to increase speed each time than do it backwards(you may need a spotter so you stay going straight and not hit anything) but in a weird fun way propelling your chair backwards up an incline adds resistance & uses different muscles than pushing forward and it's also a modified crunch and I do increase times per rep or start out with say 3 of each than in gym stuff and end with it. I personally enjoy crossfit because I personally don't feel awkward like I do at a normal gyms.
Yes don't give up. Look at me to I'm Handicap and I Run with my Crutches and do Exerses everyday Because I know it like you if we don't do this our mucles dies. And even at my age of 62 I'm still Strong and Helthy. Go watch me guys. PS I drive like you to with Hands Control
You like going to in person school? I've been at homebound for medical reasons a few years now, it's hard to go to school with a disability. They never did nothing to help me and still don't, I just started letting them know when they're wrong. I'm 16 in high school as well, I'm well ahead hopefully I can graduate early.
Has anyone told you that we are made in God's image after his likeness, meaning spirit. Sydney you are a spirit, you have a soul, which is your intellect, your will and emotions, this make up your personality, and you live inside of a body. As a spirit like God we can speak words, we can speak death to our life or we can speak life to our life it's up to us. Scripture Proverbs 18 : 21st verse. Sydney, speak life to your life.
Hi my name is Jay OSH and I just want to tell you how awesome and great I think you are I am also in the In a wheelchair I have cerebral palsy I just want to tell you I think you’re great and I think you’re very pretty and I just wanted to say thank you for everything that you do
I maybe over stepping and not to be disrespectful but to ask a Teenage Girl to demonstrate how to get dressed sounds creepy. If you are truly disabled and struggling with things like getting dressed and other daily life taeks, which honestly is different for every injury. I would suggest that you contact your doctor and ask for an evaluation by an Occupational Therapist and they can teach you how to get dressed for your needs, disabilities, and abilities. I can tell you from being paralyzed mysepf how I do things can be different from other people. As for shoes their are many options from specialized shoes to elastic laces but me personally I wear braces so how I put on shoes is different from someone that doesn't wear them.
