Thank you! No, I would need 3 or 4 minilogues to play this at the same time. So I used a couple of VST synths to create a background track that I'm playing the Minilogue over.

Hey! Unfortunately not, I'm pretty sure that won't work. But I'm sure it's possible to get a similar sound on the XD with a bit of tweaking.

wow...............feel like it's been a while since I've been immersed in your excellent atmospherics.............nice to return to that vivid lighting and gorgeous tones.....................tell me about your signal path.............those immense effects I'm hearing - right off the top, are some of them from the Minilogue, or are they all external, or in 'the box'?..................just as I've come to expect: a perfect blend of intimate and epic/cinematic........
Hey Will! Nice to have you back! On the Minilogue I used (in order) Valhalla Delay (preset: Drifting Shade) Valhalla Shimmer (Default preset at 50%). You can get some pretty cool effects using that delay.

Yes the OG Minilogue only has a mono delay. The Minilogue XD has a shimmer reverb I'm pretty sure though. But I would probably use my trusty external effects with that synth too.@@willswitchcraft
understood.......now that the Deluge has become Open Source, I'm hoping that someone will start to design some better effects for it. My Virus has incredible internal effects, but the Deluge's are awful......I know we all love our precious little fx boxes.....

Thanks! One quick and easy way to get a nice amibent soundscape out of your Minilogue would be to use a guitar pedal like the Ventris Dual Reverb (example: ruclips.net/video/1f-RY7Wb-To/видео.html ) a Zoom MS-70CDR works too. If you prefer to connect your synth to your computer via a usb audio interface and add similar FX I recommend trying out Valhalla Supermassive, Valhalla Shimmer, Valhalla Delay and Soundtoys Crystallizer.
To get a similar sounding backing track you can record a simple melody with your minilogue, a long droning bassline and then process that with Paul's Extreme Sound Stretch. Best of luck!

Mate, keep at it! The minilogue xd is a fine (if very different to the og) beast. As Remix Sample said, get a decent reverb and you’re all set. I’d also recommend getting a cheap looper to get some layering going on. I used the Zoom g1 Four for my first few months with the XD and it helped immensely.

How did you make the ambient loop?
I think I used a couple of vst synths and played some notes, maybe an arpeggio with some Valhalla Shimmer. Then processed that audio with Paul's Extreme Sound Stretch. Great way to make pads.
