To be fair I understand both sides. It is natural to eat meat and I would say in actually hunting for your prey, nothing is wrong with it at all should you succeed, but your prey has the right to take your life in return. With this commercialized crap though, living things are killed en mass in brutal ways and it isn't really fair. It is fine to do it to a cow but if you do it to a human, people call you a monster despite in really, they are both just animals that have as much right to exist as each other, it is just that humans are incredibly biased towards themselves and think themselves better than all living things when they aren't. There is no such thing as a lifeform "more deserving to live" than another, that is crap humans made up for their own convenience.
In reality, there is no reason why the life of a human for instance is any more "important" than a bacterium. Value in terms of rarity or some kind of super special gene, yes, but humans aren't rare and thus aren't really special or particularly valuable aside from what you can actually get out of them like labor, sex or body parts. THOSE are what technically provide the value.
So yeah... life isn't really all that special anyway but what I don't like is the hypocrisy of everything. Humans doing as they please and then complaining about everything else. At least just admit that because you are a powerful species you have the power to do as you please and I would be fine with that, but should any organism more capable than a human come along and decide to use us as food or something, we have NO right to complain about it or call it "evil" or something ridiculous like that. We only have the right to try and get out of the situation.
