Thank you I purchased same machine and the fuel lines were all apart back there and had a damaged “purge “valve this video helped me see how lines ran and how valve supposed to work and operate , TY
Bobcat 743. Same procedure (thanks to you) bleeder and primer not on same location but exact same process. You are a lifesaver. 5gallons of diesel and 5min work (thanks to you) and we were back in business today.
Perfect! Thank you. My 753 was the same engine setup other than location of filter but once I primed and bled the system it started immediately. I love the help available on RUclips! Kuddos for doing this video.
Thanks, so much! This same process worked on my Bobcat 753. Looks like the same engine. I was able to tell that all the air was out of the system when I could no longer hear the bubbles going into the fuel tank. Note: my tank was full, so if yours isn't, it may not make bubble sounds as the air is put in the fuel tank.
Saved my butt! I filled the filter with fuel to the top and used the primer bulb but it still DIED and would not start. Followed your plan with the purge valved and it fired right up! THANKS
Thanks a bunch Gordon for your advice...what i did was i would blow into the line that comes from the tank and air would go into the tank although it had 3/4 of a tank.....and i would have someone blow from the tank’s filling spout and air would come out of the same line that i blew air in in the first place so maybe a broken hose inside or a safety valve? How i got it to work was i filled the tank ALL the way up and it worked just fine...now what i need to is whats going to happen when it goes low on fuel....thanks again
Big thanks! I never knew that was there when I ran out of fuel due to no fuel gauge and always kept having to reprime it many times and felt like such an idiot and abusing my motor 💁🏼♂️✌🏻
@@57bagre Turns out, my fuel lift pump was broke and needed replacing. I'm thankful for heavy equipment mechanics to help me get this sorted out. I'd be lost without them!
Thanks I change my glo plugs and my filter went out on my machine I thought it had a cracked engine head but found it's probably in need of a fuel filter change and burping the air out priming lol
Hey Gordon I'm in Connecticut and I just found your channel which I'm very pleased about! Question for you I'm having fuel issues I changed the fuel filter I put a new priming bowl bond and yet I also did a new fuel pump however somewhere it's sucking the priming bulb flat which is allowing the machine to starve for fuel any suggestions?
Only thing I can think of at the moment is either the primer bulb is on backwards or a blockage between the fuel tank and the primer bulb. See if you can blow compressed air from the primer hose to out of the tank filler with the fuel cap off of course. Let me know what happens.
The video is for those who didn't know that or are still having trouble because they didn't have a chance to do that out in the field, or maybe replaced some fuel lines or for whatever reason lost the prime. Thanks for watching.
Wow, tremendous HELP!! I have struggled in the past, and now with your video the next time will be much easier. I do have a fuel issue at present. I was thinking the fuel had gelled, I took a 6 gallon tank with fuel and took the tank side of the primer bulb off. I put a line from the 6 gallon tank to the bulb. The bulb was very hard to begin with. I am not getting any fuel to the engine either with the 6 gallon tank or the normal tank. Machine was running great a month prior. I am thinking the fuel pump is not working, any suggestions? thank you Dave in Vermont
If the bulb is too hard, maybe it needs to be replaced. Did you try the bulb with the little purge valve open? is it still too hard? maybe take off the line from the engine side of the bulb and try the bulb just by itself to see if it's still too hard. I had the primer bulb crack and start leaking on a weekend and couldn't buy a new one from the dealer so I went to the fishing dept. in a farm supply store and got a new universal primer bulb for an outboard motor and put it on and it's still on and doing fine after I think 3 years or so. I have been having trouble getting mine started a couple of times lately, I squeezed the bulb and got it to go one time and the next time that didn't work so I opened the drain valve on the fuel filter and it had water in it, I let the water drain out and then it started like normal. Try these steps before blaming the fuel pump. Good luck. Thanks for watching.
Hi Gordon, Love your vidio,my 328 has the same engin, did have a hole in the furl line .i changed the line and follow your advice.hey it worked thanks.i have a little problem .the engin stops after about 5 min work.the primer bulb is completly flat after 5 min run. I leave the engin off for about 10 min and then starts then goes off again. Any idea whats going on?? Thanks
Thanks for watching. I think you have a blockage between the fuel tank and the primer bulb, (kinked fuel line, garbage in the fuel tank stopping up the pickup tube) I would look into that. Let me know what you find.
Hi guys...I’d like some advice from someone that understands this problems my 320 bobcat mini ex has the same system BUT when i try to bleed it it seems that the purge pump is only pulling air from the tank not diesel...it has3/4 of a tank full ...I disconnect the hose that goes from the purge pump tothe tank and i blow air inside and no sign of diesel help anyone?
Are you sure it has fuel in it? did you put some in even though the gauge reads 3/4 if it does then you have a leak in the fuel line or the primer bulb is bad. You can get a cheap primer bulb from the fishing and boat supplies at Wal-Mart or go to a Bobcat dealer, mine has one from the fishing dept. at a farm supply store. You can put a fuel hose from the tank side of your primer bulb into a gas can of diesel and try it that way to see if your problem's in the tank.
Thank you I purchased same machine and the fuel lines were all apart back there and had a damaged “purge “valve this video helped me see how lines ran and how valve supposed to work and operate , TY

Thanks for commenting Terry. Glad to hear the video helped. Check out some of my other videos.
Thank you so much, Gordon...exactly what I needed to get my Bobcat T190 back running after changing the fuel filter.
Thanks! I have the exact same 331 excavator. This video set me straight. I was having trouble getting the air until I watched this.
Thanks, so much! This same process worked on my Bobcat 753. Looks like the same engine. Fuel problems starting
Just did my first and hopefully only running the bob cat dry. Thanks for the walk through
Saved my butt! I filled the filter with fuel to the top and used the primer bulb but it still DIED and would not start. Followed your plan with the purge valved and it fired right up! THANKS
Glad to hear it helped.
Thank you!!! This worked perfectly for my e35 after I change the fuel filter it wouldn't start.
Appreciate this I forgot about that purge valve. Than you great explanation.
thank you I have exact same excavator, ran out of diesel and your video saved the day
Glad it helped.
Thanks for this video. I just changed the fuel filter on my bobcat s130 and could not get to start until watching your video.
I need to do another video on my T300, it has a little different procedure.

Obviously the pickup tube in the tank has a leak at the 3/4 full point, take it out and fix it. Let me know what you find.
You just saved me a lot of time and money. Thank you for the post
Thanks for the video.... shop guy needed this help
Thank you. I got a 2017 t590 and this video was great help .
Glad to hear it helped.
Thanks. I ran the tank dry and have had air in the system for two weeks. I thought i had a leak in the lines letting air in. Did the trick
'Glad to hear it helped. Thanks for watching.

Nice explanation brother thank you
Thank you, this info helped this new Bobcat owner!
Good luck with your Bobcat. Thanks for watching.

What if my bulb won't fill with fuel? I took the line off and it barely is spraying a 3 part mist in the air...
Saved my day. Thank you.
The valve running open? Or closed?
Thank you sir..
Fill the fuel filter with fuel and then put it on and you can avoid priming it, done it about a thousand times :)
The video is for those who didn't know that or are still having trouble because they didn't have a chance to do that out in the field, or maybe replaced some fuel lines or for whatever reason lost the prime. Thanks for watching.
My primer ball got smashed in the door jam. Had to replace & lost prime. Bleeder valve was the trick. Thanks!
I filled it to the top and it still died. This video worked.
awesome video thank you
Thanks for sharing
is that a kubota engine?
Thanks! you saved my ass on this!
That a Boy Gordon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You fuel line could be broken inside the tank. Happened to me before
