Alco Diesels in S Scale

ALCO stumbled in the diesel-electric market even while producing beautiful locomotives. This is an account of ALCO diesel history and its recovery that came too late, illustrated by S scale locomotives from American Models. AM has produced four of the most famous ALCO diesels, and each appears in this video.

Great video. Thank you. EMD also benefited from being designated by the US government as the only locomotive manufacturer allowed to pursue diesel-electric technology development during WWII. The rest including Alco had to stay focused on steam for war efforts until it was over. As a result, EMD emerged from the war with a leg up on its competition.

My favorite paint scheme on the Alco PA is from the Missouri Kansas Texas railroad.
*To be honest, the M-K-T had a more gorgeous paint scheme on the Alco PAs in comparison to the Santa Fe.*
