I like how in the first Dying Light, the highlight in the OST was the fear, loneliness and despair because it was the beginning of the Outbreak. In Dying light 2, the outbreak happened 15-20 years ago so people had time to adapt and now the OST are more on the Adrenaline of parkour, intensity and aggressivity.
I recently climbed an old tower. The sound of the metal creaking instantly made me think of dying light. I listened to horizon on my phone when I got to the top.
@UNKLEMACKHATESTAXES why are you on this app. But besides that I'm pretty sure that we had very different experiences when playing the game. I doubt you were even playing the same way I was
@DiabolicalMeek I just end up trying to fight the volatiles, killing a few. But I can still die ofc, if there's no safe zone nearby, or if I just feel like having a long chase, which I end up losing them just for using flares and all that. Average night experience, unless I'm actually trying to do something like kill a bolter

It is not yet clear what has caused this gruesome affliction. The local government's Ministry of Defense erected a quarantine wall shortly after the outbreak. The Ministry of Defense believes more radical action should be taken to stem the tide of this virus. The question is, are there still noninfected survivors in the city as the GRE maintains, and if so, will the Ministry still go through with the stated plan to annihilate the city in an attempt to wipe out the Harran virus once and for all. Whether by way of the virus, or the Ministry's proposed plan, one thing is certain - Harran's days are numbered."

@@ewblakey7370 Nothing is without flaws. So that goes without saying. But even something like Dark Souls, which has the WORST boss in all of gaming (The bed of chaos), is still a masterpiece to me. There's no difficulty, it's just spamming dodge then snap neck or kick then stomp head for the insta kills. Then the big zombies you just waste all your ammo on. Still, when played on normal difficulty, I think it's a masterpiece.
I have to disagree on that aspect, while DL1 was more memorable overall, DL2 had way more of a range and experimentation with different tracks and the best DL2 tracks do bet the best DL1 ones but in general DL1 is better IMO

Escape feels like It should: Crane fucking giving his all to survive the night. Loose ends feels like beyond that it should: Crane going on night missions on purpose.

Contrary to that other comment Dying light 1s soundtrack has hope of something somewhere that can stop the apocalypse, a chance, a possibility to stop this catastrophe before it gets out, a glimmer of hope through the beginning to dim light, In dying light 2 this light is gone, there’s no hope, no hero, no crane and no cure, humanity lost and they all know it, the hope is still there but the music echoes the sorrow of what was lost while dying light one seems to be trying to echo what is to lose In love with their merging at the beginning of two
