Hack that will sometimes fix control box to MC-R3 connection issues

If you are using a SmartGrade Dozer or 3DMC Max machine-
In order to get the custom settings to show up, you need to set the antenna mounting location to middle of blade. If it’s set to cab roof , the software will set your sensor type to 3DMC squared by default.

Any idea what a Blade IMU Electro-mechanical fault would indicate.
It's on the 3d auto grade and keeps it red and will not engage.
Auto blade was fine before, I have so far look at the wiring from the 3dmc box at the blade up to the front all the wiring looks normal and was snug.

I Want to go from 3D to 2D, laser keeps giving me an error message in the lower left hand box.

I’ve got a 700k John Deere with a GX-60 computer and it says 3dmc2 sensor not connected so I did this and ran the diagnostics using the tap the 3dmc logo 3 times like in your other video and all I can come up with is IMU not connected. Any ideas?

Check coil cables to back of sensor from the dozer to the blade.
If connections are good could be a bad cable or sensor

@@MachineControlHackers ok will do. We have 3 cat machines with gps and one John Deere and every time a thumb drive is put in the Deere’s computer it seems to have problems that day none of the others are problematic.

If wouldn't if it was using the mc-i4 receiver or mcx. This only works with a mc-r3 system

What version 3DMC was this? I'm a tech that works on all Topcon equipment here in SoCal and we've come across this issue we all versions of 12.1 and up. There is a known issue with v12.1.420 (GX-60) and v12.1.421 (GX-55) so definitely stay away from that.

I have several customers with the MX3 file named “Drano” saved on the control box. The latest release has been bad about it.

Do you see this more with GX-55's or GX-60's as well? The easiest way to get through it has been to down rev to 12.0.5.135 (GX-55)

About 30/70 split more on the 55 now
Used to be all on the 60 around the time of 10 code
I’m certain now that it’s the new 3dmc because of the boot up code that’s wrote in for the max initializing

Machine Control Hackers did you create the drano file or did it already have it? im running a gx55 and it also says waiting for radio link and on the other box it tells me im out of design area

What if the custom option doesn't come up

To get custom to show up as a option for a Max or Mast-less system you will need to select middle of blade as the antenna mounting position.

God I hate when that happens
