I think that was more aerials on on one fire than we have in the entire county! It's interesting the east coast / west coast difference in perception as to how useful aerial devices are.
Wow thought maybe we going to see someone slip off that roof. That was a crazy climb in perfect conditions, bet he was glad to get down. Not criticizing it takes guts to do that in full gear.
Butch McIntyre That was Northampton’s Chief on the roof. The roof was too slippery and was trying to think of different ways to get on the roof. But they decided that it was too dangerous to continue and got off the roof.
Put a unit in front of the house with onboard water. Vent the two gable end windows off ladders. Pull a pre-connected line up to the third floor and extinguish the fire with the tank water while the hydrant is hooked up. This should have been under control before the hydrant was activated. Getting the job done eventually doesn't cut it. Absolutely NO REASON to put people on This roof unless it was a chimney fire. Let the childish responses begin!
JB91710 And absolutely no one should listen to you. Haven’t you figured out yet that you really don’t add anything any fire dept would want. It must be a wonderful delusional life you live. Your a legend in your own mind.
D Colby you are right that’s DCFD SOP the wagon should always leave room for the truck company so they can properly ladder the roof to do vertical ventilation on the structure.
LOL! Yes, JB, because the best way to put out a fire in a chimney is to put up a ladder and climb up onto the roof with a saw instead of just walking up to the fireplace inside the house and firing a hose straight up the flue. Seriously, JB, that's a stupid thing to say, even for you.
