Ive been using elixirs for 14 years. I just put a set of these on my J15, and they sound incredible. I've always said elixir makes a 7/10 sound and a 10/10 durability... these are a 9/10 sound, and tine will tell how long they last

The link disappeared. Sweet water has them. Daddario xt electric. They are in a black package similar to the nyxl’s but they say xt. Coated electrics. The acoustic versions are in a white package and the electrics are in the black package. If you want a great acoustic guitar for not crazy money go with Eastman. They make great lower end acoustics and really amazing high end stuff. If you spend 1000 bucks you’ll get a all solid wood acoustic with nitro finish and fish man preamp. I have one and I love it. I have a lp too by Eastman.
@@jimmyfranklin China. But they are made to a custom shop level of quality. I’ve owned a lot of production USA made Gibsons and the eastmans are a step above. Idk how they actually compare to the Gibson custom shop but I would imagine it can’t get much better. Eastman was a orchestral musical instrument company and then moved over to acoustics and then semi hollow and arch tops and a couple years ago they started making solid body lp style guitars. I’m hoping they do a strat style guitar soon.
Do you know if anyone has done an ELECTRIC comparison between XT and XS? If not, can you make such a video? When I compared the accoustic XT and XS, I was deeply disappointed with the XS because I heard such great stuff. 1) First off, the XT’s are more totally balanced and the XS leans toward treble tones, so there was less bass. I prefer balanced strings, so I’m not sure what’s accounting for the difference - maybe it’s the different cores, coating process, or both? 2) The XS was WAY too slick. My fingers were sliding off the sides while playing. I never had that problem with the XT’s. 3) I do like the tighter response that sounds a bit less muddy on the XS. I wish they could do that with the XT and they’d be perfect for me. So that bummed me ever so slightly about my beloved XT’s because now I feel like I’m missing out on a great XS feature, lol. 4) The XS had to be changed much sooner than my XT’s. The XT’s can make it 2-3 months no problem. The XS barely made it to 6 weeks. I thought they were supposed to last even long than the XT, but apparently not. I don’t have sweaty/dirty hands and the conditions were identical - guitar on my stand in my apartment’s bedroom. The XS coating was coming off faster, which meant they started corroding sooner. The strings just gave out and started to sound nearly dead around week 4. I’m probably missing something, but those were my main takeaways. So I went back to using the XT’s. The big bummer about being a little muddier sounding is a trade off I’m okay with. They were just too slick and too treble-leaning, among the other issues. I’m hoping D’addario will take what they’ve learned with the XS and figure out how to tighten the string response so they’ll also sound as clear as the XS while retaining everything else I love about them. That being said, I’m now looking for similar comparisons with the electric XT/XS counterparts. I can’t seem to find ANY side-by-side video demos and longevity tests. Do you think that’s something you can do for a future video? Thanks!
I loved these XS strings for the 4 months they lasted. I broke the high E string in January (100% my fault, I turned up and down too much) and I'm replacing them with another pack. I currently have the medium set but i ordered the custom light set to replace them this time. These are far better than elixirs imo, the elixir sound dead within a month and they really start stinkin' fast.

Why would you not own an acoustic guitar? Jimmy Page said he wrote the first 4 Zep albums on an acoustic then transferred it over to electric. Strings sound great.
I will put this as nicely as i can.. I AM NOT JIMMY PAGE HAHA... no but for real, I just never enjoyed playing acoustic guitars... I'm trying to find one that gets me excited and inspires me but i've yet to find that. and above all, my influences never played acoustic guitars... I like big loud distorted guitars. as a kids I never saw AC/DC or Twisted Sister or The Ramones do acoustic albums so I was just never inspired to play one!
Elixir acoustic strings are certainly pretty decent sounding, definitely last the longest, noone's beat it yet, I'm doing some research on whether or not this daddario beats it's longevity.
So disappointed in these as I was a victim of the marketing hype. D'Addario strings are on all my guitars, but these are by far the deadest strings I have wound to date. Will continue to use the NB and XT.

I use EJ16's on my acoustics, I hated the muffled sound of the EXP's, but these sound great!
I run pairs on my 12 string Takamine and bought 2 pairs of XS and 2 pairs of XT and these are amazing!

D'Addario has some balls to price these HIGHER than Elixir. People bought D'Addario's coated strings before because they were cheaper than Elixir...
