👁 About this video : Today I drive the 2004 Dodge Viper SRT 10 Convertible and see what it's all about! The Dodge Viper is as old school as it gets! 8.4 liter naturally aspirated V10 paired only to the manual transmission and rear wheel drive! The Viper helps you with nothing! There is no traction control or driver aids. So you need to be on your toes. The Viper isn't that fast in slow speeds, but once you rev out the engine towards the top, it really feels fast! The handling was surprisingly nimble and good in the corners. The interior is super basic like any older car from Chrysler. But the manual tranmission is all you need! You have to muscle each gear with the short shifter and be alert while driving. For mid $40k range the Viper is a pretty cool car. You get an old school American car that is sort of a muscle car but also a sportscar. And sine we don't see to many of the Vipers around, this is pretty exotic! Dodge Viper is a great choice if you want something very different to drive and isn't just another Corvette!

Vipers are so under loved! Such a special car that will only get better over time.
I think they’ll keep aging well!
Even with old tech it just works. This car is gonna be an American classic one day. I love the simplicity of the top as well. Dodge should bring back the Viper!
I agree! Unlike anything I’ve driven. Would be sweet to see a new one!
Great video Brian. Thanks for taking viewers back 17 years. The Viper is such a special car. I remember back in the day, if you were cruising with friends and you saw one, everyone would shout “There’s a. Viper!” They were just that unique. Watching the video, it looked like a lot of work shifting. A unique driving machine for sure. Fun video man! 👍😎
Yeah these are very striking on the road! Still look really good. That was a tough shifter for sure. Had to muscle it a bit 😅
I purchased my 2004 Viper this winter and it was the best decision. A joy to drive every day and a huge hit and attention grabber everywhere I go. Can't wait to get a gen 2 in the future.
That's cool! It's a striking car to look at for sure! Really good looks that have aged well. I'd love to see what the newer car is like to drive. Probably pretty awesome!
Awesome Video As Always Bro, Also I Totally Love This Car.
Thanks man! Super cool driving a Viper!
Dang it will never be a Shelby but it's definitely a classic of a different time. Great review. I thought it was gonna be louder when you started it but I'm sure that v10 sings pretty good. Thanks for sharing man!
Definitely a lot different then a Shelby. I think this was bone stock, so not crazy loud. Very unique driving experience!
I had a 99 GTS many years ago, one year before anti lock brakes. Was red with silver stripes. Was a cool car, had its issues. That 3rd gen car wasn’t bad looking, it’s nice. But wasn’t that wild for the time. After the crazy looking Gen 2.
Oh cool! The Viper is a very unique car to drive for sure!
Vipers are definitely cool, the 5th gen is one of my 3 favorite supercars
Yeah they are all pretty cool! Very unique car!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed my 3 favorites are gated R8, 5th gen Viper and the gated LP640/SV Murcielago
That would be a great garage setup!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Viper is the coolest Exotic America made in my opinion
@@mileslynch Yeah it’s much more exotic then a Corvette!
Video presentation is lit🔥
well done
Appreciate that! Viper was really cool!
Very well done! I regret not buying an 03 black convertible a few years back! It had 17k miles and was up for sale for 42k!!! They dropped the price to 39k and I stupidly did not buy it!!! The same viper is worth close to 60k now!!!!!
Dang! Yeah I'm sure like everything else they shot up in price! Maybe they'll get back down soon!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed yeah man i feel so stupid for not getting it. And there was a 2008 black SRT 10 convertible for sale by private owner in Oklahoma City for 59K, it only had 5000 miles… Now the same Viper is probably asking at least 80. You can forget about the GEN five altogether, it’s a six-figure sports car no matter how many miles they have.
I have this exact same car. 2004 in silver with 20k miles. This one definitely has a short shifter and looks like the wheels have been coated with something as they were Chrome from the factory.
Oh sweet! The shifter was very short and took some getting used too!
Great review! I love my Gen 3!!
Thanks! 👍 Super cool seeing what the Viper had to offer! Very unique driving experience!
I’ve got one of these. Very reliable but is work to drive in heavy traffic on 270 and 495. Throws a lot of heat when at a light. Outstanding open road car.
Yeah I'm sure. Very cool car to check out!
Good collector investment!
I’m sure! They’ve seemed to hold value pretty well at what they currently are at
I love it! It’s very nice! I love your red shoes, you should have hacked a loogies out the windows lol 😂!
lol thanks! The Vipers are pretty cool!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed lol 😂! You welcome
Great video bros 4 speed
Glad you enjoyed it! The Vipers are fun cars!
WAY better then most new cars with 4 cylinder hybrids
Definitely a good old school car!
This is a lot cooler than a new Prius for the money
@@mileslynch For sure!!
@@mileslynch F*** the Prius, I would rather have a Radio Flyer wagon that is for little kids
@@carguyns4348 me too, quicker 0-60 lmao
Solid review
Thanks! A fun car to check out!
I’m thinking getting a G35 for my 17 birthday
That would be a pretty cool present!
Oh yeah man, I'm hearing those beefy pipes!
It's a pretty muscular car for sure! Sounded very cool!
Freaking love this car
Yeah the Viper is super cool! Love the looks!
Love the car🔥🔥🔥
The Vipers are pretty cool! Don't get to see them that often!
Classic Viper right there! I know it was a feel good moment when the owner let you review it. Too bad they're discontinued and good luck seeing too many of these on the road.
Couldn't agree more! It was such a cool experience for sure! Pretty nice dealership we worked with on this!
That's a gen 3, only gen that hood opens incorrectly. All Vipers are amazing though, love the torque.
I loved how the other generations opened in reverse. Such a cool feature!
Man, he should go to a car show 😉
Haha yeah! Actually just went to one today, but not in the Viper!
The exhaust is on the side; quite a weird position for the exhaust to go.
The Fisker Karma has the exhaust pipe on the side as well.
Yeah it’s pretty cool to have the side exit. Definitely unique!
Especially if someone wants petrol fumes to get in the cabin. I wouldn’t.
@@DaveDVideoMaker Honestly I didn’t get any of that while driving. Maybe at a red light with the top down. But I didn’t smell any exhaust
More like around $80k now. That appreciation. :O
Haha yeah! That’s on any car in todays market right now!
Can you do a Toyota velfire review pls
Never heard of that Toyota! Doesn't sound like a US model we get!
Ok
Viper lives matter
Dodge Viper was super cool!
Looking for a Dodge Viper 2004, 2005, or 2006.
Cool car to get for sure!
Good job my own 2000 rt10 super charged this car speed ain't no. Joke it 4 sale start in now
Nice! I bet that's pretty epic being supercharged!
Yes it is and its 4 sale
I gifted your merch to my best friend !😉
Wow that's really cool!! Thanks for the support!
That’s really cool, I have the original Bros Fourr Speed shirt
Oh cool man!!
Beautiful Viper 🇺🇸👌🏻
Yeah this was a fun car!
We love the car, but we're a little biased!
haha oh yeah! It's a pretty sweet car for sure! Cool car to have in the inventory ;)
Dream car 🐍
Keep working towards it! The Dodge Viper is a cool car!
I much prefer the early generation hoods since they make working on everything so damn easy. But the interior on the 3rd gens definitely feels better put together. I have a first gen and absolutely love it.
Yeah I can see that. Those massive clamshell hoods expose everything! 1st gens are pretty sweet!
Ohh yeah 🤩🐍❤
Yeah Viper is pretty cool!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed yes of course 💪❤
This or a new mustang gt? Which one to buy???
Tough one! Viper certainly looks exotic. But the new Mustang is probably much faster. This car for having a V10 feels on the slow side and isnt too eager to accelerate compared to a modern sportsacr
I wish I can find one around me for under $50k
The cheapest one around me is $56k (3 gen)
And a 08 (4th gen) is going for over $80k
I’m in socal
Yeah back when I filmed this, the Viper was a cheap car! Not these days!
Your link (here) to a Viper for sale dealership has 1 Viper for over $100,000 ... so where are the gen 3 vipers with low miles ?
Look when this video was filmed, market was lower then.
However, you can still get a Viper like this for $50k

@BrosFOURRSpeed That could be a contender... if it wasn't red. BUT, you are correct. I apologize... I'm just a bit frustrated looking for my gen3.
Again, not your problem.
Love your channel 🤓🙏
No problem!
they shot up big time. I almost bought one in 2019 for like 39500. 04 with like 28k on the dash. should have got it. I will buy a 03-2010 next year its my "affordable" dream car years ago always loved it. have a 2021 F150 right now with only 1103 miles on it i have it damn near paid off and will use to as down payment for the viper. they have shot up man for sure. at least here in the mid atlantic area. they 50k+ on marketplace etc. but dealerships are selling these in the 60s man they have shot to the moon and interest rates are dog shit now too of course to make it even worse
Yeah things have gone crazy since filming this video! Several cars I should have also bought in 2020!
What it's This Color From Dodge Viper
Not too sure. But I’m sure you can find it easy
@@BrosFOURRSpeed what it's This Color From Dodge Viper
Not too sure. But I’m sure you can find it easy by Googling it
Say Viper anything and the price goes up. Usually you can't get one in the $40k's unless it's a 1994. The prices must have dropped. Seriously.. I'm guessing she's more than the GTR to own by much.. (I'm probably wrong)
I don't think so! I had a buddy with the same year just a coupe that he was selling for $40k, so they aren't crazy expensive! Not sure on the maintenance, but can't be too much either!
Under $50k? Send me the link to the Gen 3 Viper or anything similar with under 20k miles.
I'll wait....
Back when this video was filmed, those prices were accurate. This was before the market blew up lol
@BrosFOURRSpeed Thank you for responding 🙏 I've bee actively looking and not much luck.
I found one on carfxx just now bit the vehicle history looks odd....
That car is 7 foot, one inch wide. That’s not a small car.
not under 50k anymore now
When we made this video they were! All used car prices have shot up in the last 1.5 years!
looks slower than the 1993 i had
Just look up the 0-60 times and compare!
Fancy car
The Viper is a pretty cool sportscar! Very different from modern cars, but fun!
seems slower than the 1993 i had
Just look up the 0-60 times and compare!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed mine was straight piped with intake, it broke the 335s with a tap of the gas
@@steveharper5368 That doesn’t add much or any power, the vipers could easily do that stock!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed i drove it both ways huge difference, v10 responds more than lesser engines
@@steveharper5368 what? An intake and exhaust on a viper won’t make a difference power wise, confused what you’re talking about.
Shifting way too early
Can only go so fast with ought breaking the speed limits too bad
When driving a viper, And you want to test how the car feels You don't want to be at 20 mph in second gear. You want to be in first, since first gear will go up to right near 60 mph. second gear will take you right near 90 mph. That is probably why you did not feel that this car was fast
I don’t need to do that in a dealer vehicle I don’t own, but it’s also not the first Viper I’ve driven, so I have been able to rev out others and they still aren’t that fast. Fun but not fast.
Dont do too many startups and revs with that door hanging wide open or you will be replacing that hinge I bet
How’s that related at all?
@@BrosFOURRSpeed I am commenting on the twisting torque that the v10 makes and that long door hanging wide open may not be a great mix. I don’t understand your question.
@@carperdiem8754 how is leaving the door open while starting it up going to make the hinges needed to be replaced? That doesn’t make sense.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed those are long heavy doors. That v10 literally has chassis twisting torque. Puts alot of strain on hinges if door are wide open
@@carperdiem8754 Who’s driving with the doors open though? Honestly isn’t related at all.
“Old school v10.” Uh, okay.
How’s it not?
First
Thanks for checking out the Viper vid!
'It's not the fastest car'. 0-60 is under 4... I'm good.
I'm used to my Nissan GTR with 700 HP. 0-60 is 2.5 seconds ;)
@BrosFOURRSpeed that's awd though
@@captainobvious5993 ok. I’m still used to cars that are much faster. Even looking at RWD, my Manual Supra is about the same acceleration as this. And my RWD Gallardo is faster. The Viper is super cool but just doesn’t have the same acceleration as plenty of other cars out there. Not necessarily a bad thing, but from my perspective, it’s something I’ll point out
@@BrosFOURRSpeed what year is the Lamborghini cause it beats the 06 lambo Gallardo
@@captainobvious5993 2014. 0-60 is about the same. But regardless, at the time of filming this Viper, I was very used to much faster cars. Once you daily drive a 700 HP GTR. Not much feels fast
American and Exotic make no sense. it's only an exotic if it were in a different country aka Lamborghini, Ferrari in the US. If you were in let's say The UK you could call it exotic but it looks like you're in the US. A better title would be "Best American Super Car"
Like you just said, to someone in another country this would be an exotic for them. Therefore this is an American exotic. To 50% of my viewers it's an American sport cars, but to the other half it's an exotic. I hear people in Europe call Lambos exotics. We all know it's not just one country talking about these cars, so I'll refer to it how people around the world see it. People are smart enough to know when certain cars are exotic for them specifically, we all realize in general cars like this around the world are in the 'exotic' category
