Those things are so expensive. We bought a sheet of 1/2 inch plywood, an old window for the glass, 3 cheap full length mirrors and a can of high temp black paint. Worked perfect for Scouts and was durable. They are probably still using it 10 years later.
Yeah did this also, used a 14x14 wooden box, i had layin around, about 3/4 in cardboard liner, then lined with aluminum sheet ( get at low cost sometimes free, from local newspaper) painted with high temp BBQ paint.. made reflectors from roll of Mylar, cheap and available from greenhouse supply, very reflective.. i did cut the glass and tape sharp edges, from old window i had, and 1/4in foam door seal.. got temps of 350-360F. on a sunny, May, Indiana day.. Not as pretty as a bought one, but very functional..
To tell you how good the sun oven is, I cooked a chicken dinner in mine in January, when it was - 10 F out. This is a must have for folks that prep. The inside is metal. It is easy to use and clean. The food tastes so good. I recomend setting it on the ground and using the stakes that come with it. I had a wind gust blow mine off my picnic table. It did bend my reflectors a bit, but I was able to straighten them out and it still works fine.
I could see using one of them in the summer when it’s too hot indoors to cook or to bake outdoors would be a great way to keep your home from adding more heat inside your home! I am curious to know what size pans come with the Sun Oven? I wonder if you could use your own pots? Does the information give an idea of what type material the pans are made from? How heavy is it? Thank you for your review of this product. I like the idea of how to use it for purifying the water with that gadget with the wax in it. Wouldn’t have a clue how it’s spelled.👍
Hey just wanted to let you know that Matt from demolition ranch and off the ranch (RUclips)was looking for someone with knowledge in solar so I and many other suggested you in the comments!
There are excellent and functional sturdy designs that require basic wood working skills on you tube. One actually has space for three pots and doesn’t require repositioning.
Expensive? A little. Great to use almost any day of the year, but especially when the temp is 90 degrees or higher. That way, we don't use the gas oven that also heats the house up when the AC is trying to keep up. So, much less AC use, helps pay for the Sun Oven. I've been using mine to dehydrate home grown basil all week to have later. Tomatoes will be next.
Why would they not simply boil their water, in this orphanage? "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:23 "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8 "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9 “Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.” Romans 3:19-20 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Romans 10:9-10
Sad. It costs pennies to create a mirror. I would be happy to pay a hundred bucks for quality craft... Gaskets and whatnot Unfortunately, this is a product that is best DIY'd

If you could make a video and show steps and how it works would be great

Thank you for your comment. I do not get any snow where I live, but I was wondering if the sun was not intense that day if I could use the sun oven.
If you take a video next time and post would be great to watch. I live in a cold place
the most useful item for any prep
There's some very good commentary on this product (with the company owner) over at off grid with Doug & Stacy.
thanks!
The man who owns the company is a really cool man.
I love that harvest right in the background.

Mrs Skinny Medic and I love ours!
I been using mine for years. Wonderful product and great 👍 company. Thanks Engineer 775 for the review.
This OVEN is the best idea 💡 ever. Oh yes, the Sun glasses are a good safety idea.
That looks like a Harvest freeze drier in the back nice
Can you reuse the wax water tester or is it good only once and have to buy those testers each time you want to boil water?
Just bought one... look forward to cooking in it! Has anyone done a turkey yet?
Do they still sell these things? And what size pots does it take?
I wonder if the sun oven can be used inside a (glass) greenhouse or winter garden.
Is there axway to keep the temp at avout 100-150 defrees? Too much over that is not good for dehydrating
Prop the door open by setting it on the close clamps. Modify the oven’s direction to the sun off center to achieve the lower temperature.

Are you going to make your board for the hot water heater?
I need to!
Engineer775 I hope that you do, please tag me when you get them in.
Question: Can 2 different inverters share the same neural wire?
Another awesome video !
WE don't need No Fricking instructions! LMAO
The engineer had to read the directions 🤭
Demolition ranch RUclips channel is looking for solar power I put your channel in the comments but who knows if they seen it

Never forget ....... Instructions are only the manufacturers Opinion of how to do it! ;0)
Exactly 😂
"Suggested assembly"
If all else fails, read the directions. 🤣

Fuel
@@engineer775 Thank you.
There is a constant shortage of fuels and what is there is expensive

WAAAAY to expensive. You can make your own for less than $100, and it will be far more durable and transportable than this overpriced thing.
Well then. We look forward to seeing your video and your receipts. I hope you will accept the challenge.
