Tireless Jonathan, thank you so much for supplying your audience virtually every week with yet another masterpiece by the incredible J S Bach. You and Tom have brought musical knowledge to a huge population. A difficult and challenging task, but they always do it with great sensitivity, good taste and dedication. We, your faithful followers, thank you for your willingness to provide us with so many sound beauties. Hugs!
Agreed. It is a pity that a large segment of humanity don't want to become civilized by embracing this kind of music. For that, the species needs to survive for another few thousands of years.
Jonathan Scott is my favorite organist. His play is just perfect. I’m happy to follow him frequently on RUclips. When I was jonger I listened to Marie-Claire Alain playing, now it’s Jonathan. Thank you !
In 1969 as an undergraduate at my university I was walking to a class and suddenly heard Bach for the first time from somewhere. I stopped, couldn’t leave and listened! It was Bach’s wir danken dir Gott wir danken dir although I didn’t know it was by Bach or the title until later. Chills ran up and down my spine! There were tears coming from my eyes!!!!!
What a modern pipe organ!! How great Bach and how great you, Jonathan! An impeccable performance! Thanks Tom for your wonderful recording, as always!!😘😘
Hello! Oh my this is delicious food for the soul!! Thanks beautiful brothers for the fantastic filming and performance. With Love from the Netherlands.
I really enjoy listening to the Great organ music 🎶 I Wished I could support you guys but being on a fix income , I do well to pay my bills mortgage and things like but I still listen to the Great music being done , the pipe organ is my favorite instrument I've always wanted to go play one but now with my health issues diabetes and doing Dialysis & etc. I do well to walk across the room in my home . I've always said this that the pipe organ is the most majestic instrument that God allowed man to make 🙌 🙏🏼
Bach is always beautiful, majestic, but Jonathan's performance makes him divine! Tom, you're great with pictures and sound, and you're a wonderful pianist! Congratulations to the two brothers for everything and thank you for this magnificent gift.
Dazzling, stirring, Bach at his best, both musically from Jonathon and visually by Tom. May Divine inspiration continue to flow through you two as it did for so long through JS Bach. With sincere thanks.
You play so absurdly good !! I am a huge fan now ! I have seared so long to find this Bach concerto on the organ, finally ! And ow boy, it did NOT disappoint. Thank you so much.
I love this music either with solo harpsichord or piano, but this is simply marvellous for me. Thanks. As good a transformation as Bach turning Vivaldi [soloist and orchestra] Concertos in concertos for organ alone. Best wishes from George
Busy fingers and feet there! Much like the punishing schedule you have mapped out for forthcoming recitals on the Continent and UK. "May the Lord bless you and keep you, may the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance on you, and give you peace." (Numbers 6: 24-26.)
Well that brightened up my day considerably!! What a stunning Bach piece, played masterfully by Jonathan, who never fails to impress when playing Bach. Positively joyful - I loved it. Thank you both for that inspirational video.
Well if you like this then maybe I could suggest something from the 70:s!?.. I don't know how old you are but I'm too a huge fan of classical music, but! You might know of Mike Oldfield, wonderful albums, Tubular Bells and Ommadawn.. Please listen...they are awesome.. I'm 63 now, still loving it.... Thank you...
Thank you for this fabulous piece Jonathan, beautifully played as always. A new one for me and I loved it. Nice trip round the church too, thank you Tom. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Sets a lively and joyful mood in the first part, then Bach got serious. Great playing, as always. That's a fine new organ in excellent acoustics. From Chicago, U.S.A.
Now, this IS Music at its loftiest. It is so beautiful that I shiver with the pleasure of hearing these heavenly sounds. If music is something like this in the afterlife, I am signing up! This is for you Mom, gone many, many years ago. I hope that we will still enjoy such sounds down the road...
Magnificent in every respect - as always! Your dedication and commitment never ceases to amaze me - and I'm sure so many of your other followers/admirers! As ever, very best wishes to you both.
Magnifique ! Michel, Tarbes, Southern France
Jonathan, when you come to the US will you come to Salt Lake City and perform on the Tabernacle organ and Cathedral organ? We would love to have you come.
The Larghetto is so gorgeous it brings me to tears. The registration is spectacular. I can't figure out quite what is happening on the solo. What do you think the registration is? It's so bright that it sparkles. That and the choir I can't put my finger on.
Thank you, Tom, for this truly wonderful arrangement. Bravo! 👍👏 Wish we had seen more "wide-angle" shots of the entire façade. This is no doubt a beautiful and finely-made instrument - with one of the most très, très bizarre specifications I've ever seen on a modern organ....🤔 There's a disconcerting excess of extremely expensive, and redundant, Reed stops and so many very odd, seldom-to-be-used, Mutation stops. And no 32' Soubasse/Contre-Bourdon or Contre-Bombarde in the Pedal division. Very strange and disappointing for an organ of this size.
I request that you play the prelude and fugue BWV 550. It is a beautiful organ work of Bach's that unfortunately doesn't get much air time. I believe you could really lend that work some great exposure.
Does anyone know where online there is a definitive BWV listing that I can use to put together a complete playlist - any help would be much appreciated! ❤
I recommend the "List of compositions by BWV number" section in the "Bach-Werke-Verzeichnis" Wikipedia article. The section is long and so can take a few seconds to open!
@@JSB2500 thank you so much for that! Any recordings that I can’t find already on RUclips, I thought Mr Scott might like to fill in the gaps. I’m sure we would all enjoy that!
As a trained organist, I can confirm that there are a couple of really difficult runs in there! A few different spots amazed me, actually, and Jonathan makes them look so easy!

originally written for harpsichotrd and quite often played as a piano concerto with orchestra this is a brilliantly performed adaptation. well done
❤😻
I don’t know why people consider music of J.S. Bach is heavy. Thank you very much for sharing this video!
Jonathan, you don't need me to tell you this, as i'm certain you know you are as much as bach knew he was, I say it anyways, you sir are a MASTER!!!
Thank you for sharing your organ and the Bach with the You Tube world.

truly it is, Bach is for me personally the epitome of music. I have never found greater music then his.

Fascinating.
Many thanks.
Love it! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Such a treat to hear this played by you.The audio quality is superb as well as the video, thank you.
How on earth do you control the pedals and 4 sets of organ keys. Truly magnificent. Bravo.
Wonderful !
Marvelous performance!

Is this concerto similar to one of his oboe concertos?
Where it's possible to buy the score?
Lets enjoy it while we can--before the "woke" crowd declares Bach's music racist etc etc... and burns it all.
What a stupid comment
Sigh. It is just a matter of time. The Disease is spreading like wildfire in the US and in Canada. Many of us are afraid.
