  • Homeless people in Darwin are copping fines for sleeping rough, but there's also a shortage of beds to go around, so is it really fair?

    Giving fines to homeless people is like throwing pebbles against a wall. It is not a solution to a massive problem. These people need a system that works not one that fails them.

    NT $1,500 per homeless person, compared to other states of $14,000 per homeless person funding! That's sad.
    Matters like this is why "The Voice" is needed.

      @tonybloomfield5635 Год назад +3

      It is way beyond sad but can you please enlighten me to how the advisory only, 'Voice' is going to make this even the slightest bit clearer to those in power?
      This problem has been well known to ALL politicians, Liberals, Labor, Nationals, Greens and the others both State and Federal for many years. They already consult with community, they already claim to be doing all they can ("with much more work needing to be done").
      Will those calling for 'The Voice' suddenly sprout a conscience and start taking action because they hear what they already know from many of the same people they already talk to simply because they are then going to be part of a 'Voice'?
