    A joy to wake up to, a new for me pattern. Thank you. I saw a post about you producing a "fly tying manual". I would buy several copies for Grandchildren and Sons. I have 2 daughter-in-law tyers as well. Thank for the pattern my friend.

    Superb Davie, and great timing as I just bought a couple of boxes of 14 and 16 FM ultimate dry fly hooks so I'll be tying these up in time for the hatch. Had 5 brownies off my local loch last week using your silver humongous pattern and a DI7 line. Thanks for the tips. 🎣👏👍

    Hello, an excellent variation of a classic model known in France as the "Cul Vert". In addition it must devilishly float well with the materials used! As always, a very nice edit.
    Happy Easter and all the best.

    Lovely modern pattern Davie. I've tied them for years with the old style materials for the upper Clyde. I'll certainly tie some and save money and time on Floatant. Cheers Big Davie

      Hi PLAMaker,
      I am sorry I don't have a video on a Wally wing fly as it's a style I've never tyed before, maybe I should have a look at it as I have been asked before...

    Beautifully buggy looking fly. Would you ever consider tying it without the deer hair wing for slower waters?

    • @DavieMcPhail
      @DavieMcPhail  3 года назад

      Hi FlyTyer1948,
      Yes I originally tyed them just with the cdc which I have in my box though the deer hair does keep them floating far longer..I'm glad you liked it..
      All the very best Davie

    Can't seem to find spanflex in canada. I've heard wapsi changed manufacturers and now its not the nice smooth straight floss its basically now identicle to flexi floss. Do you know where to get that original smooth straight floss ?

      Morning Matt,
      I'm still not 100% recovered from the covid virus but not far away though...I have attached a link to flymart.ca in Canada that sell the Uni-Flex which I like as I've used it many times over the years...I know it's not the original spanflex but I have to be honest it wasn't my favourite but there's so many versions out there now so I could use a different brand from the one that you you are looking for..I hope this is of some help to you..
      All the very best Davie

    This view doesn't help Davie, I have watched it several times. This is one of my favorite patterns to use for pretty much anything!! I use dyed green Golden Pheasant neck feathers, but that is the only difference between ours.
