    This mic is no joke. Got it last year for $700 on reverb. Sounds incredible on anything you put in front of it

      Wow $700 what a steal. & for some reason, the older the mic gets, the better it sounds (to me personally)

    It’s a great mic but note to beginners. Recording environment + recording technique are way more important than the mic. Tlm103 is worth buying but you should invest into sound treatment first.

      You could throw this mic in a closet surrounded by clothes, or drape a moving blanket over your head and get amazing results, without "tuning your room"... There's also reflection filters, mattresses, broadband absorption you could put around the mic, so many easy moves with any budget.

      @Elsolocup 3 дня назад

      Yeah i have a whole treated room, preamp. You could hear a pin drop in the room with this mic its so sensitive. Closet can be good tho

    Basically almost every new microphone doesn't have a transformer these days. This won't work well in an untreated room.

    • @RadiumRecordsHollywood
      @RadiumRecordsHollywood  7 дней назад

      a transformer has nothing to do with a microphone working well in an untreated room or not...

      This mic is much more versatile... It has a model of the C414 that is insanely good

    What’s a good analog compressor to go with it for hip hop and r &b

    • @RadiumRecordsHollywood
      @RadiumRecordsHollywood  Год назад +1

      Honestly, there's no need for an analog compressor, in my opinion... I would just pick up one a UAD apollo and run it through a preamp model (I like the Neve stuff), and then follow it with 1176 model in the console. $$

      I’ve had this mic for over 10 years, I’ve cut all my vocals on it even when I had much more expensive mics around. For me it’s a fucking game changer. You don’t like how I talk about the mic? I don’t care.

      Harsh, thin and sibilant are words that come to mind for this mic. I have nothing against cheap microphones they have their place, but please don't pretend this is a "game changer"... price aside, there is a very long list of microphones that sound better than this.
