    • @Plat4mation
      @Plat4mation  2 года назад

      Hi Ankita!
      There could be multiple reasons to those items not appearing in the system.
      The most common one is a lack of proper connectivity, i.e. incorrect credentials or insufficient rights. I would start with analyzing the logs to find the root cause. Hope this helps you resolve the issue!

    What kind of account should I create to have administrator access on developer portal?

    • @Plat4mation
      @Plat4mation  3 года назад

      Hi Hetvi,
      You can use the one of the following:
      1. Service account of the whole organization with all access granted.
      - Azure DevOps has built-in Roles and Permission to each application. In relation to the Microsoft Azure integration in the Agile Module, you can request for Collection Administrators role to be added to your account. Next, you create a personal access token with read, write and manage access for Work Items.
      - Once you have the role, use your account/email address and PAT as username and password when you set up the Azure instance.
      Hope this does the trick! ^Kirztine

      @jhonnyInTube 2 года назад

      Hi @@Plat4mation,
      Our organization follows a least privileges permission policy. "Collection Administrators" enables full access to Azure DevOps (God mode), whereas, the purpose of this integration only concerns the synchronization of user stories and relevant associated information. For instance, there is no need to create or drop a code repository, among many other privileges that this user does not require, neither should be granted. As such, security is blocking the integration.
      Being this said, could you please provide a minimal set of privileges required to establish and successfully maintain such integration?

      Out-of-the-box, only Stories and Epics are being created from ServiceNow to Azure.
      Please follow these 3 steps to enable this on a custom table:
      1. To allow a record export to Azure, add the table on the business rule. Here's how to do that: docs.servicenow.com/bundle/rome-it-business-management/page/product/agile-azure-integration/task/allow-import-and-export-of-attachments-on-custom-table-maps.html
      2. This is customization, but for demand, you need to add an extra field “external_identifier”. This is an important field as it links it to the work item ID in Azure.
      3. Map the newly added “external_field” to System.Id.

      Here's the answer to your question: based on the information, it's difficult to determine why your setup isn't working. If you followed all the steps and installed the required plugins, it should meet the prerequisites for configuration (as the modules will only appear after installation).
      Maybe the ServiceNow docs can help, there’s pages on setting things up, importing data and troubleshooting issues: docs.servicenow.com/bundle/utah-it-business-management/page/product/agile-azure-integration/concept/agile-azure-integration-overview.html

    • @Plat4mation
      @Plat4mation  3 года назад

      Hi Vitex,
      You can achieve that connection between the ADO and Incident by using this Microsoft Azure integration in Agile Module application and enabling the Unified Backlog application in ServiceNow.
      With the unified backlog, each scrum master/product owner needs to manually create a visual task board and use the group associated to the Azure project we have set up in Microsoft Azure integration in the Agile Module.
      Any incident from the Triage board can be added on the backlog. Once added, it will automatically create a story in both Agile and In ADO.
      Good luck with setting this up! And let me know if you have any further questions :) ^Kirztine

      I am new to Service now and seeking some guidance for integration between Jenkins & Service Now.
      I have gone through the documentation and came to understand some of the basic concepts for setting up the connection between Jenkins and Service Now. However , I have some queries related to this scenario.
      Currently , I am using the Jenkins Agents on which my pipeline is getting executed and the Jenkins agent is setup at On-Premise. I have couple of pipeline getting executed including CI , CD , CI/CD. Those pipelines are created using groovy scripts. Now , I am exploring if there is any API call that could be used in my existing groovy scripts to communicate with Service now.
      Below is my understanding and queries I need some guidance on :
      1. To proceed with this integration , Do I need to Install the Service now plugin in my Jenkins Agent ?
      2. In my scenario , I need my jenkins to communicate with Service now when required Instead Service now connecting to jenkins. For this I understand that I could use some API Calls but not sure of the API that can be used in the groovy script for achieving this.
      If there is any other configuration or alternative option I could perform for this type of connectivity then please suggest.
      Appreciate for your quick response on this.

      Hi Kodi,
      1. Were you able to successfully connect the Azure instance?
      2. Were you able to discover all Azure projects?
      If yes to both questions above, did you try to check the process mapping used by the project you are trying to onboard?
      - In the application navigator, search Agile Azure DevOps Integration
      - Select Azure DevOps Instances and select the instance.
      - Go to Azure DevOps projects tab and select the project you want to register or onboard.
      - On the project, open the process mapping associated with the project, and go to Table Maps tab. There you'll see that epics and stories are mapped. If there’s additional mappings you'd like to add, select Create New.
      NOTE: Make sure you are using/looking at the correct process mapping for the project that you are onboarding.
      Hope it'll now work! ^Kirztine
