I have made custom end caps for the Amerimax downspouts that you can purchase at Home Depot or Lowes. If interested you can check them out on my Etsy store etsy.me/3PwkJbN - Happy Growing!!
I found you own the Rain Gutter Grow Page on facebook and is great showing the breaking down of building one of downspout systems. I will be following what you got going on next!
Awesome! Found your channel from your earlier videos about Larry Halls gutter garden system and your particular rendition of it: which was excellent BTW Now I'm going to watch this vid and I appreciate it, thumbs up.
Dude you saved me a major mess, i sealed the end caps last night and thought all was good but in your video i noticed you testing the seals first outside. So I decided to try the same in my kitchen and water was everywhere lol Also i know why Mike V didn't use end caps for the longest its easier to maintain and no worries of leaking is my best guess. Thank you for the save!
I think I messed up! I found this raingutter kratky over on VanDruzees channel and someone asked him what kind of caulk to use. He hadn't responded, but someone else did. Said to use Aquarium Sealant, it's safe for plants and fish. So, I bought 2 tubes. I just put it on...then flipped the package over and read, "Not recommended for PE, PP, PTFE, PMMA, PC or PVC." Now, after doing a search I'm confused if the downspouts fit into one of those categories. Some sites say vinyl is pvc some say something different. And the front of the package says tack free in 45 minutes the back says 2 hours, LOL!
Nope, but Mike done a great service helping teach people. I originally messing with these a couple of years ago trying to do hydroponics. But it was to much work keeping the reservoirs filled as I had tomatoes and other crops. I moved on to the RGGS with the fabric pots. But the season I was looking for a easier ways for seed propagation which I seemed to find. Its has worked out great with the downspouts. I have explored all kinds of new ideas I had as I just need to post the videos up so stay tuned. Really I just subscribed to Mike's channel just the other day as I do not know why I did do it sooner. But I am going to go back and try to hydroponics with all I learned since then and do the leafy greens, herbs, etc. I will propagate the tomato plants but quickly move to soil. So lets see how it goes. Stay tuned as I will be posting some stuff that I have not seen anywhere before. Good luck with your grow!
@@rufflifehydro Downspouts and basic Kratky in yogurt and other disposable containers were how I got my start into hydro, watched a ton of RUclips and found Mikes channel then just started eating up content, then found Hoochos channel and was really hooked. I've been building systems and filming for my channel ever since, good luck with it and Happy Growing!

You dont need end caps if you hot air melt the endings plastic and fold it upwards
@@AG-sx9wsdefinitely pros and cons to both though. Major con to the heat gun method is it’s very difficult to clean out the rails.

Are down spout safe to use? PVC release carcinogens overtime when exposed to sun.. Will
