Objective: Rendevouz and escort C-130 transport plane to friendly base. You're going to be wingman for Stern in these first three missions. Enemy has MiG-21s.
God the music is soooo good... nostalgia heaven! If any game deserves a remake it is this game. The whole mercenary group with economy aspects to the game is really intriguing and has only been used in a very few games to date - many of which have turned out awesome, like jagged alliance (1 and 2, but especially 2). The setting just has so much potential :)
Great game, One of the best ever action packed flight sims. 8 disqettes-40 MB of shear pleasure. I couldn't run it on my 386 because of Dr-DOS so i had to upgrade to MS-DOS 5.0 to get it running. Great era. Great memories.

Why not friend? It's a blast! I've flown flight simulators for the past 15 years, with DCS taking my time now, but I got back to this this weekend and oh man the feels, I felt like a boy again. Does it have shitty graphics comparing it to DCS? Sure. But the story, the memories, everything else. Do yourself a favor in the future, and play some oldies. Your inner kid will thank you. ;)
The Sound Blaster music is alright but after watching so many videos with the MT-32 music I have to say it's lightyears better. Not sure how well it emulates on the DOSbox build with MT-32 support that's out there but it's awesome.
Too bad the video is compressed beyond recognition - this game used to be one of the prettiest of its era, it certainly doesn't show in these vids. :( Maybe I should go and make a higher-quality let's play... Then again I usually had to play this game on the easiest difficulty. :/

this game needs remaking
I've been looking for a replacement for this game ever since I've played it. No other came close. I trully miss this.

Where is your ammo for you machine gun located? Because someone once told me you can run out. If you run out of everything then what? Eject?
Wow... Smooth input, what joystick are you using?
Autolanding is just to save some time, manual landing is very easy in this game. Try it yourself.
