I had one. The 305 cu. in. only put out like 165 H.P. It was very fun on the highway!!!
The car has the big clock near the arm rest. I know when we purchased two Z-28’s new in ‘83 and ‘85 ( we ordered both) the only way that clock showed up was with the radio delete or perhaps maybe like an AM radio (no option). Back then no-one (well almost no-one) wanted a factory radio, esp in Camaros and Firebirds. When the car had digital radios, they had a clock in them, and the big one was not put in!
Wow, I didn't know that...
I also have an 82 Z28 Indy pace car edition Camaro, something I noticed on this car, when the optional power windows were ordered they put a circular delete plug in the spot on the door where the window crank would have been. My car also has power windows but my circular delete plug has the Camaro emblem imprinted on it, this car just has plain Black delete plugs.
Humm, Very Interesting...Thanks for Sharing 🙂
@@WeBeAutosLtd For what it's worth, I've watched several videos here of 82 Camaro pace cars a few cars have the plain black delete plug and a few have the plug with the Camaro emblem been printed on it.
Another thing I've just noticed from watching a few videos, on pace cars in the cargo area & the rear seating area, all cars are fully carpeted in navy blue. But the ABS plastic interior trim panels in the cargo & rear seating area are gray, with navy blue carpeting in some cars & in other cars the ABS plastic interior trim panels are navy blue, with the navy blue carpeting.
It's weird they made these variances all in the same model year, and I would assume all the pace cars would have had to been built by April because the race was in May.
Beauty!
Reminds me How Pretty those Cars were I had driven in H.S. A 1976 Pontiac 455 4 Speed Trans Am My Dad got my Brother Brand new he only drove a year for Graduation he got a New 1977 Grand Prix SJ put Tops on Good looking car my Dad drove The T/A just a little till I got my DL what a Fun car I have Always since been a Trans Am Fan but for my 1982 Graduation new car he was working out of State and had made arrangements at a Dealership in Dallas I left school early with a friend rode the bus 3 hours my Brother picked us up and went to a Big Cheverolet Dealership and we got there before I could see what I was going the salesman took me to his office and signed paperwork seemed it took forever he said do you want to see what you signed for took me to Showroom floor and there was my Brother and Friend they had seen and the car was a 1982 Camaro Z28 Maroon exterior and velour maroon interior Beautiful Car and getting in it Wow first year New Generation my Middle Brother for Graduation got a 1979 Camaro Z28 Nice looking car and I had driven those cars motor was So Much Better but the Handling in this new car was so much Better Struts but the 305 V8 was crap I would have been better off with V6 and the Mettric 200 Ttansmission had plastic parts crap but my popularity went way up I got back that night to my Hometown about 80 thousand and our Cheverolet Dealership had not yet gotten any Z28s and for a little while I was the only one in town and the color was even Better I remember as more cars started to come out it was a bit before I got to see this Beautiful Pace car and so many models that year Camaro Berlinetta and another one and the Z28 my Love Life got Better! I doubt it was "radio delete" with all the other options it has.
They all were "Radio Delete"
@@WeBeAutosLtd No, they weren't. And the clocks were digital and located in the radio's faceplate. That "dial" clock in the console is from a Camaro Berlinetta.
I have a 1982 Camaro Z28 pace car, I have the window sticker & the order Build sheet it lists and still has the optional AM/FM Delco cassette radio, the console clock was an option and not just for the Berlinetta.
For sale? How much?

@@WeBeAutosLtd I learned to drive in my dad's '82 Z28 pace car. He replaced the stock shifter with a white cue ball. When he originally got the car new it came without the pace car stickers on the car and he let me install those. I was in 8th grade. I was always building model cars and he knew I could probably do it better than the dealership. I remember the instructions that came with the stickers that had dimensions on exactly where to place the stickers. I must have done fine because we never heard a single complaint. I wouldn't trust myself to do that today. Lol!
My sister's boyfriend had one. What a slug. In the 1990s my Pinto smoked his Camaro walked all over it. The cross fire allways Gave problem try to run it good. Worst engines ever. Slow car. 16-17 sec 1/4 is a joke. Weak and sluggish
LMAO, you're not kidding Brotada Chip!
