I mean I know these two could do a lot better with a sword in there hands instead of a 45 sec fight and michelle is the only one doing backflips and spins. They needed a longer fight with each other

Because the emperor is too much confident with strategy.He probably didn't expect Rick to ram him and beating him up without letting him get a chance to fight back.

Here's how it should've been. I saw this in a behind the scene clip once, but Zi Yuan could've just bent down, kicked the sword out of Han's hand, before she can grab the dagger. Not impale herself with the sword to get it.

It may not be a big thing for those who don’t know their work history, but both of them are Gods in the martial arts genre. They deserve, at least a 3-4 minute fight scene. So happy to see Michelle Yeon in Crazy Rich Asians.
I think the biggest problem I had with the Dragon Emperor is that they made the character so powerful yet show him always fighting with his hands or a sword. Unless he was stripped of his powers Imotep never did that.
Who watches this for the soundtrack and not the fight? Note: I do respect the actors, but their ability was wasted on this fight and if it wasn't so cut-up and jumpy I'd enjoy it more.
Here's an idea: let's take two of the biggest legends of Asian cinema, Jet Li and Michelle Yeoh, write them a scene where they finally fight onscreen for the first time... and then shoot, edit and choreograph it so blandly (and with stunt doubles!) that it registers only as a quick disappointment that wastes their talents utterly and completely. Way to go, Rob.
