Nicely done👍 cinematography was beautiful, the story telling was perfect. I’m usually into shooting/instructional videos, your hunting videos are the only hunting videos I watch.
65 SS does not take any kak - haha you have to South African to appreciate that
its good that your not like other people that just cut out all of the bad shots. And for that your now my favourite hunting youtuber. Because your not scared of your mistakes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Appreciate that Sir
Well done on the hunt, respect for showing us the bad shot easy to leave that out and not tell a soul, I hope everyone watching this has learned something from it. We all know you are a brilliant shot keep up the good work !!
It's not a hunter, it's a shooter , nothing too do with hunting
@Ron De Boer what the heck are you on about.
I know I learnt it happens with the professionals. I've had bad shots in 'Hunter Classic' and felt bad about 'em since there's guys who claim to have dropped 99% of their kills on the spot in game and in real life. But these guys are experienced and show it can still happen.
That should have been left out. It was a poor decision and an even worse shot.
@@tomskimcdouglegaming806 With all due respect, the opposing viewpoint would say there is more to be learnt from a poor shot than lots of good ones. Nowhere in this video was that shot exemplified as being the perfect ideal placement. By showing this, it does exemplify what NOT to do. From another standpoint it also shows that he wasn't trying to cover up the fact that such a shot happened. In my business I can say hard landings happen and pretending they didn't never helps especially if there is a chance of structural damage. In which case it is best to let someone know so it can be looked at but I digress...
Point is, if this was a 'Perfect Killshot' compilation, then yes, it should have been left out. But it wasn't. It's a video showing someone's experience 'out there' warts and all. But it is each to their own and I respect that so I am merely stating what the opposing viewpoint would be regarding that situation.
Amazing video, I hope to return to South Africa some day. Beautiful scenery and the last part of the video was spectacular. Dankie!
I did not know that the SA landscape could be so beautiful. And yes, here in Texas, feral hog (which is what we call them) are a scourge. No weapons limit, no bag limit. The public property I hunt only stops for a month in spring to take pressure off the land in advance of eastern spring turkey season (shot gun only.)
Your feral hog is also an invasive species, as it was brought over from Europe. Here in Germany they are considered Hochwild („high“ wild life = back in the day only royals and nobles were allowed to hunt them, same as red deer and many other species). Today they are a real problem as they can carry and transmit african swine flu and endanger our pig farmes.
We only have one limit on them, we can‘t take out mothers that are still „leading“ striped young boar.
They are in my mind the best tasting wild life out there.
Big probles is that they are the most intelligent species we hunt and they have adapted only being active at night, as there has always been a night hunting ban here. Has been lifted for hogs now, but it‘s tough to get them.
not sure if this is national geographic or RUclips... outstanding video!
The ending shot of the Sable was absolutely awesome !!!!
Do Warthogs usually live in such areas? They live together with other wild species
Love a warthog hunt.
I'm glad to see I'm not the only oak to zip one in the back like you did with the 2nd warthog.
You should see what a 375 at 30m does to a rooibok kop...
Thanks for sharing the kak shot as well. We all make a kak shot now and then just to humble us again.
I really liked that video, Pieter. The last bit of dronevideo was excellent, mate! 👌🙂
Piet, daai closings shots is absolutely magical. 🤘🏻
Great HD Quality picture...keep cleaning the enviroment...🔭
Great video once again. Thank you Piet. Just love the sable at the end too.
Went on a hunt earlier this month for a few animals warthog included and a similar thing happened. Had to go look for it in the tall grass. When I thought it was down it actually turned around and came charging. It was about 5 meters away. Luckily I managed to get that last shot off.
Can't wait to see myself out there hunting a big game.
Pragtige jag plaas Pieter. Baie mooi jag, geniet die lekker vleis.
Loving the production quality of these videos!!
I never thought of Africa as being so arid. That is some incredible terrain and wildlife.
I'm a big fan of the Rhodesian Ridgeback, and have had 6 of them over the years.
Knowing how good that game is going to taste will really motivate a man.
South Africa has beautiful landscapes. I want to go there one day, especially since I’ve always wanted to try Biltong 😂
You guys hike light. What's your setup like for water, food and safety gear provisions?
Holy moly 2:31….. look at that Steenbok’s horns!!!!! Long as ears or longer = excellent trophy !!!!
Yes he was a beauty!
Stunning!! Ek hou van jou Afrikaanse woord van die dag.. 😬😬👍🏼
Probably one of the best hunting videos on RUclips. Well done Piet!
Pete! You smoked those backstraps! Lol Great content, keep em coming 🍻
The landscape photography takes your breath away! Great hunting as well☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ ♡
Sometimes I feel sad seeing that, sometimes, happy. Hunting is a way of life, as well as shooting is. Thanks for share.
Very Very Nice Video Piet.
People that never hunted Pumbas wont understand how fast things happen. They are fast becoming such an issue in the farmlands of South Africa that farm owners sometimes let you hunt them for free.
Respect on the tracking of the wounded animal. That is hunting. Every shooter can do a kill shot, and always aims to do that, but only hunters track the wounded.
Beautiful quality video Piet. Thanks once again
Nothing like the crisp crack of Karoo grass and rock under foot...
South Africa, it seems to me from these videos, is frickin’ awesome. And the people there are impressive as well. Kinda makes me want to go spend some time there.
You will love it! SA rocks!
Wow that was a amazing shot with the buck in the river!
Epic hunt, superb production once again.
Stunning shots. Take me with on your next Hunt.
Simply stunning and moving, that ending was so peaceful.
Loved it.
Thank you very much!
Wow! This is an amazing video! It's like watching a movie! Love it from Canada!
Be careful of driving over those old farm wires on veld. They can tangle on your propshaf and pierce your pinion oilseal
Great hunt!!
Love the new format Pieter.
Stunning hunt.
Well done Piet !! Watse punte laai jy in daai outjie ? Neem aan dis Eld-X of Bergers ?
Great! That’s the stock set which I planned to get ! Good to see what real looks like
What shooting rest are you using ?
What cartridge were you using?
Do you require special licenses or are they free to hunt (pest contro)? What cal dou you use? .308? or other? Very interested.
Hunting in South Africa is done on Private Land or through Concessions. Most times you do not need any special licenses, but you need express permission from the Land Owner. The permission normally comes in the way of having a guide with you, usually supplied by the property. You will be given a cost to shoot each animal, and even if you miss, you could be charged for that animal. Each Land owner will have their own rules and prices, which suit their specific environment. South Africa is an incredibly diverse environment, so you can have very different land types quite close together. Transporting carcasses is best done with a General Hunting Licence and Letter from the Property owner
Sometimes, while on a hunt, you maybe asked to Varmint, if you are comfortable with that. Then it is usually free, what happens to the meat will be set by the Land Owner
Excellent video! With all the crunching thru the dried brush it's a wonder you were able to get close to any wildlife...
14:06 incredible that hog initially survived that shot. Then continued to run despite the catastrophic damage.”! Tuff creatures.
Incredible video brother! Love that last clip at the end of the video! You should grab a still shot from it and sell it as a poster! I would totally buy one!!
Yummy. First time I ate one was at a bri Kruger park around 1992. South Africa is so Beautiful and such an amazing place.
This warthog owner is John wick, so he's coming to take revenge 😂🤣😂😂🤣🤣😂😂
best comment ever! 😂
Pete I Really enjoyed the video I’m in Texas. If you hunt sooner or later we have to deal with circumstances that come with a animal with not a great shot. Awesome track and follow up. Those that don’t really hunt don’t understand. Those that do…..know how our Ethical, feelings work in our minds and how important that it is for us to go and finish the task.
GREAT video Pieter! We all make mistakes and have a bad shot! well done to still show it!
What kind of rifle are you using?
What type of Cal. Do You use ?
@IMPACT_SHOOTING How expensive was the whole gun
Do have access to thermals in SA? Sounds like it would work wonders with that tall grass.
With all the technology today and especially with the use of say DJI drones, having a drone flying 30m in height, this would help those hunters on the ground and especially with the unfortunate shot of the back portion of the warthog, the person operating the drone would have been able to quickly follow the animal so the hunters on the ground could move at a faster speed to put down the animal much faster than they did having to try and track a blood trail. I am not having a so called armchair whinge from someone’s basement. Just posting hopefully a better system for you guys to possibly consider, I understand the possible noise distraction of the drone but if the drones at a certain height and is able to easily relay incoming targets or to following of a possible injured animal. Thank you for what you’re doing and thank you for not just deleting this unfortunate shot and situation, I’m sure there will be hundreds of other hunters who’d learn from that incident
Cheers men 👍🏼😎
Does it get hot in the gear at all?
Hi guys thanks for sharing your videos,,, I am curious about your native language,,, ? When you said " trag " which means pull as you said,, it sounds Scandinavian,,, it's the same word same meaning,,,Dino from Sweden
Awesome jag Piet ek hou van jou videos
Piet please tell me what bullet you use, great content as usual, thank lease I need to know
Great video Piet, die einde veral stunning
die nuwe format is baie goed... ek dink die directors van die Bourne trilogy mag dalk vrae vrae oor julle suspense loop music :D skree maar as jy nuwe tunes soek !
Very nice and enjoyable video Pieter, elusive warthog en al! 😂
In Texas we hunt them from helicopters with select fire ARS, absolutely fun!
…. But I’d so love to go to SA! Looks amazing. But My Flemish doesn’t seem to help with Afrikaans ….
Hey man I'm a huge fan and love the headshots.
What rifle do you use ? What is your gear loadout ?
I enjoyed the video very much. Thanks
Never seen a warthog in real life. Definitely sounds like they act much the same as wild boar/feral hog in America.
I've often thought about saving up and taking a trip down to Texas to hunt some as they've been eradicated from Colorado
i really enjoyed watching this video....
nothing like that here...
Excellent vid!
kon si gun hai bhai
Great video Piet, really professional!
Just a question regarding tripod. Any reason why you used the Ball head on this hunt? Also watched your other videos on tripods and you mentioned that you prefer the Leveling head.
what kind gun is that ?
Great shot!
Great video and editing job btw
Need a story time in which you share any hunting scares. Walk up on a dangerous animal you didn't know was there
Semangat terus berkarya kawan
You should come visit me in NW Montana and we can go wolf hunting if you want a challenge. Then we can go after elk, deer, and bear. Lots of other animals but you have to put into a draw for those.
your shooting a 6 dasher, what bullet are you using on those warthogs?
only the first headshot was with the Dasher, 87gr VLD Berger. The others was with the 6.5SS shooting a 156gr @ 3000fps
@@IMPACTSHOOTING hi , which 6.5 SS are you chambered and loading for ? Is it the 6.5 Sherman ss or is it the 6.5 4s aka 6.5 saum from George with GA Precision ? I believe the Sherman originates with the 270WSM case and I believe the 6.5 saum originated with the 7mm saum case . It’s been 2 yrs since I was reading about the 2 cartridges. I actually have a Savage 12FV in 6.5 Creedmoor for a donor rifle . I couldn’t decide which one to make and it became financially unlikely that I could afford a custom chambering. I couldn’t find a gunsmith locally at all . Which one did you go with and what made it a better choice over the other . I would love to make it happen! Thanks for any information you can share .
Subscribed Pieter, thanks bro
Welcome aboard!
Hey Piet, great vid. Beautifully filmed. Can you please tell what action and barrel you are using in the hnt26 chassis. Great looking setup. Cheers
Great editing, Piet!
How many miles you walk with that heavy gun? Also, awesome video!!!
Thanks For Showing the Bad and The Good Piet.
Lessons people should take away from this.
- The 50/50 shot is never worth it.
- Only shoot a moving animal if its attacking you.
You are a very good shot, just remember to get into the correct mindset when hunting. Its not a Competition and there is no timer attached to the Trigger.
Wow. Baie nice video.
👍
BEST COKE COMMERCIAL EVER!!!
What’s the weight on the rifles you were using?
Hey Piet what bullets did u use
is this buffalo or warthogs, dangerous OK
Eldx 6.5 onder 100meter haal n springbok se kop heeltemal af. Ek met my 30-06 n springbok se kop af geskiet op 70 meter. Net stukkie vel vat dit nog vas gehou het.
From Indonesai 🇲🇨👍👍
What caliber?
Loved it
Do you carry a "back-up" pistol or revolver or do leave that to the PH if needed?
I was about to hit "comment" with the same question, but I saw yours, so I'm just gonna +1 here.
SA born "Biltong hunters" usally hunt plains game only with a guide. No PH, no back up rifle.
With hunters from outside RSA fees justify the use of a proper PH.
This is how I have hunted all my life.
The animal at 0:32. Did it have an eartag earlier? Round hole in the left ear ...
Yes
bliksem piet, maak volgende keer jou oë oop. Lekker vids boet
AWESOME 👌
Jusie hy is n goeie draattreker😂😂
well done ou dis n fokken nice pelk as moontlik sal ek graag daar wil gaan skiet
Love the video
Geniet hom
A fantastic video , great to see you share the not so good shot …great followup …love the videos . Not too many warthog here in Ireland
Top gehalte video. Jy kan maar elke week 'n varkjagvideo plaas!
Genade ek gaan lyk soos n kaas worsie ;-)
