Mine isn't engraved, just has the sticker saying "OPT. NY", it looks like there was also a sticker on the front though. You can see the outline over the gain knob.
I have another question this guy is trying to sell me a PA300 it says opt. NY but when switched to hi lo , it has hi lo tones. I thought the true fdny pa300 did not have hi lo tones I want to make sure I don’t get ripped off
Christian Garcia Not sure what’s going on there, does the manual, wail and yelp sound similar to mine? I know in 1990 the NYPD used it, and more recently some port authority units (tunnel tow/fire trucks) seem to use it. There might be more than one NY spec
Sebastien Yanac Good idea, I'll try to find time to make such a video. Every siren is different, but if you Google "[Siren Name] Wiring Diagram" you will figure out which wires to connect where. For the positive and negative power wires, I have them connected to a pyramid power supply I bought off of Amazon. I've also used a cheap ATV battery in the past too, basically anything that supplies 12V and the necessary amperage. For the speaker, I have the two speaker wires connected to the two speaker wires on a cheap 100W siren speaker. For one of the speaker wires, I run two 10W 1000 ohm resistors in line to significantly lower the volume and prevent hearing damage or neighbor complaints.
Valley Emergency Photography a standard variant of the Federal Signal PA300 is extremely easy to find and buy. The FDNY spec is very rare. The silver version of the PA300 sounds very similar though, and pops up on eBay here and there
Valley Emergency Photography Ah I just found some video clips of it, it does sound a lot like the FDNY spec siren. I’d bet it’s a non-FDNY version with the same/similar tones, as there seems to have been a billion different variants of the PA300. It sounds great though, if you can’t get it through them getting a silver face model off eBay seems like your best bet.
I wish they used the hi lo
What is the difference between the regular PA300 and the FDNY spec?
Question , the FDNY PA300 is 100 or 200 Watts? Thanks!
I believe 200.
If anyone finds an NY spec I’m very interested in buying
Just posted a vid of 1 of 4 of my FDNY pa300 sirens, check it out!!
Hey brother just checking in with you, when your ready to sell let me know. We spoke on the elightbar forums too. Keep me in mind when your ready. 💰💰💰
Hey question for you , besides the label saying NY option , is your engraved by the Shops with a unit number ? Just curious

What do you have it hooked up to? Could you do a tutorial on how to hook it up

Why does Hi-Lo not work?
Kieran Bricker For whatever reason that’s how the FDNY ordered it. If you notice, it behaves the same in that position as it does on “Manual”
Are these easy to find to purchase?

WK it’s interesting my local rescue truck uses North Vancouver District Rescue 1 In British Columbia. I’ll see if I can buy it once they retire it

Whats different in the NY Spec?
AJ Deere T680 the wail has a longer wind up and down
Interested in selling?
Sorry not at this time, it’s the only one I’ve ever seen after looking for years. Just keep a close eye on eBay and the lightbar forums’ classifieds
Thanks, if you ever do pm me!
@@danielgunther9787 I just posted a vid of 1 out of my 4 FDNY Pa300s. Hope you enjoy!! :)
