@@beckyparkco The first thing I sold was a 0-3 months Ralph Lauren Romper...which the buyer later shared with me was for his cat :). After that, I've sold 4 kids and 13 adult items in like 2 months. Better than Kidizen was.
I feel the same about Depo, and then today, right after reading your thumbnail, I sold a dress on Depop for $98 on an offer that the buyer actually paid! What?!! Great video!
I've had 5 sales EVER on Depop with THREE of them in December!!! I was so surprised because the first 3 had a year in between each of them!! It's mind numbing sharing my stuff on there!!
Congratulations to your daughter!!! My daughter, 23, played also middle school through high school, played defense, was varsity libero last 2 yrs. Loved it!
I definitely finished the year a lot slower than I started. Health issues had dominated my life in the beginning, which is funny but I t drove me to want to focus on reselling more. At the end of 2024 (the last 3.5 months) my husband and I took over our church’s food pantry. The previous couple were retiring [in the food pantry & in their jobs] and we were “trained” the last few months. It threw me off my routine, so I didn’t list as consistently as I had been all year. So, honestly, even though it was slower for me on every platform….I was a little grateful for the opportunity to breathe and learn how to do more things. I may have to cut out a platform or two…😳 I’m listing to 12. 😬
I never heard of Depop until I started watching your channel in November. I'm new in general. My number of sales have been equal on eBay and Depop. Depop fees are less, so profit has been more. It drives me crazy that their customer offers are not binding if accepted. That has to change.
I’ve been reselling for almost 2 years & you were the first reseller I started watching on RUclips. ❤ In one video a while ago you showed your photo set up. You were using a booth. I’m thinking of getting one for a few reasons. Do you still use it? Your listing pictures are amazing. Do you remove background before posting or are they ready to go? Thank you for all of your great content!!
My Depop sales consistently nip the heels of Poshmark and somedays even beat Poshmark. I don’t sell just anything, but find the right items and people are more than willing to put down a good amount of cash.
@@beckyparkco Same. And I love that it is driven by aesthetic not brand. So much fun to shop for! Fees are dirt cheap. I periodically try new things and I’m often surprised.
Is Untuckit often sold on Whatnot? I hadn't noticed that! But you're right - the pallet items on Whatnot are most likely going to end up selling for less and less as more pieces enter the resale market.
I've sold like 12k items on ebay but ready to try something else. I want to list on depop and mercari and thats why I found your video. Would it be worth doing? should I do poshmark instead of one of depop/mercari? I feel like my stuff would do great on depop and maybe poshmark, I have no idea about mercari, it feels like ebay to me. I have lots of vintage clothes but also modern. Thanks for any help! Keep taking your kid to sports! I'm thankful my mom would drive me around back then.
Thanks for watching and for your question! I think your instinct regarding Mercari is right-I don’t think that’s the place to go right now, especially because, like you said, it’s kind of similar to eBay. I’d say Poshmark or depop sounds good. Personally, if you were leaning more towards depop, I’d almost say just do both. Poshmark is the easiest platform to list to BY FAR. They just make it so easy. It would be an additional 30 seconds to list on Poshmark if you use something like list perfectly. But I also think it’s smart to just stick to adding one more for now so you can learn the ropes and ease into it. But either depop or Poshmark are great in my opinion!
@@beckyparkco , just made a sale this morning for a tracksuit. Btw, the post office is closed tomorrow for a day of mourning due to the passing of former President Jimmy Carter.
Becky, did you know that ChatGPT suggested a video of yours when I put in "what are the buyer demographics for poshmark live selling"?!! It suggested the one you made interviewing Ashley Weever. I thought you'd get a kick out of that if you didn't know! LOL
How the heck do you do consignment with another friend of yours or an acquaintance? I have someone that has a ton of stuff that she wants to get rid of and she has a few friends that also want to do the same thing, but I think they want to try to work out a consignment with me. To be honest, I don’t even know how I would do that because items never sell for what I list them for since I send out so many offers to people. Plus you have shipping cost, which for me is only whatever a poly bag or box, a little bit of packing tape, a piece of tissue paper and a business card but then there is also the fee of the platform you sold it on. I feel like the only price that I would be able to come up with is a certain percentage of whatever the item actually sells for. But I feel like it would be a very insulting price to even suggest, because it would have to be lower- it’s a lot of work (as you know) to list items since we have to do so much maintenance on each of the listings. I’m trying to figure out a way to explain it to them so that I’m not insulting them in anyway but also I did give them a heads up that sometimes you can sit on an item for a year or two, which I would hope that would never happen but You can only keep up with so much stuff in your inventory and sometimes pulling it would be more difficult than just letting it sit in your shop. It seems like it would be tricky to do consignment, but there has to be a way to do it. I was just curious how you navigate that with people I hope that makes sense. lol I also do keep an inventory sheet in Google Docs and I guess I could make a column for items that don’t belong to me necessarily I always wonder how people do this with other people involved
Depop is my #1, Posh #2 Ebay and Mercari about to be my Ex's. I love your videos no matter when the date. New RUclips Name PARKIE ON THE POP ( long time viewer since you were only on poshmark :)
Hi Becky!!! I absolutely LOVE your videos!!! Can you clarify what your actual cost of goods are? Later on in the video you said your cog's were $134.64, but earlier you said you spent $700? if your gross sales are $730.33 and you spent $700, (incl fees) you profited $30.33 for that week, not $410.43, right?
@@StandOutStaples she spent $700 in inventory she said it on the 14:00 mark; the $134.64 were the cost of the items that sold that week. So in theory, she profited $30.33 for the week, but since she's sharing what sold, she is sharing the cost of what those items cost her.
I use pirate ship but I just got BURNED as a result :( An item never showed up to the buyer's home, despite saying it was "delivered," and because I used my own shipping, depop refunded the buyer out of my account.
I realize you’re not asked me but I used to ship with Pirate Ship but stopped. The upside of Depop shipping is it doesn’t come out of your pocket but the thing that cause me to switch was when a buyer gave an incorrect address. I was out the money. Not the case with Depop shipping.
Honestly, sometimes! But I also love what happens when I’m consistent with listing - I get consistent sales! Where burn out happens is when I try to do too much and set unrealistic goals for myself. I get upset bc I didn’t accomplish this impossible task. If you’re feeling burnt out, try giving yourself permission to scale back a little. List a little less. If that feels more manageable and you find joy in it again, that was the problem. But if even with that, you’re still feeling burnt out, it might be time to pivot.
