Think you are right about the tears. Her gran is Iranian so this concert must have been so emotional to her. She feels emotions so much. Last July in Norway I was standing a few meters from her and she got so tearful just thanking everyone for coming to see her. Tears were running down her face as she started to sing Suspicious Minds. I have a blowup of AJ's face from that performance, and she did not have mascara streaks down her face, although I had tears and shortness of breath and I have watched this video more that 75 times. Probably because AJ finds the story of the recipient of this year's winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, Narges Mohammadi, is from Iran and is currently in prison fighting for Women's rights in her country. Angelina's grandmother, Mery is also from Iran.
I notice she is introduced as an "international star". These sorts of people don't appear at 'festivals' or on 'circuits' with such high 'status' to maintain, their services aimed at providing 'moments' for only the most exclusive events. So, under this performing category, we are not likely to have many chances to see her under 'live' circumstances, such as at 'Portsmouth' where there is no 'world-beating' cause or theme, such as 'climate change' afoot.
I do hope you are wrong and we see her schedule other concerts. Angelina is not like "these sorts of people" and she has appeared at festivals in Norway, she is humble and true to her heart. she truly loves her fans she calls her Angels and we love her, she has recently stated she can't wait to see our faces again real soon. But she is young and will move into performing at a slower pace as she sees fit. Her plans are now set for the next three years I have been told.

Thank you Samantha for that very last Wow, it was needed and defined perfectly how I felt about this performance. As far as the tear goes I could not see it in the video but that may be due to quality of my display. However I have heard through connections that Angelina said herself she had tears throughout the entire song. I can tell you that my tears were flowing when I heard it live. Right from the beginning of the performance I sensed, by the look on Angelina’s face that something was not right. I thought it might be because of the background story of the Nobel Peace Prize recipient that made her feel sad.

One of the most memorable experiences of my life was seeing John Gary perform live in Seattle, WA, when I was 20 years old. He had such a powerful and beautiful voice that filled the whole auditorium. During the break, he sat down on the edge of the stage and played his guitar, singing Unchained Melody with so much emotion and passion. It was a sublime moment that I shared with my wife, and I felt like we were the only ones in the room. At that time, I thought to myself; how could anyone top that performance, but 56 years later a 17-year-old Angelina Jordan just did.
Angelina Jordan's performance at the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony in Norway in 2023 blew me away. She sang with such passion and emotion that I felt every word in my soul. Interesting you should mention John Gary. He was Elvis's favorite singer. I have referred to him before as "the male Angelina Jordan" for his breathtakingly beautiful voice. I have all his records and envy you getting to see him live.

I think it might be two fold....Her G-ma is Iranian and this Peace price was given to a Woman Iranian activist that is in prison right now - Very sad....And also she did a little tictok (I think and expressed how thrilled and excited she felt about singing for this event. Something she dreamed of since a little girl.
Probably because AJ finds the story of the recipient of this year's winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, Narges Mohammadi, is from Iran and is currently in prison fighting for Women's rights in her country. Angelina's grandmother, Mery is also from Iran.

I notice she is introduced as an "international star". These sorts of people don't appear at 'festivals' or on 'circuits' with such high 'status' to maintain, their services aimed at providing 'moments' for only the most exclusive events. So, under this performing category, we are not likely to have many chances to see her under 'live' circumstances, such as at 'Portsmouth' where there is no 'world-beating' cause or theme, such as 'climate change' afoot.
I do hope you are wrong and we see her schedule other concerts. Angelina is not like "these sorts of people" and she has appeared at festivals in Norway, she is humble and true to her heart. she truly loves her fans she calls her Angels and we love her, she has recently stated she can't wait to see our faces again real soon. But she is young and will move into performing at a slower pace as she sees fit. Her plans are now set for the next three years I have been told.

I always tear up AFTER I watch and hear this performance. There's another, longer video (13:39) which includes the history of Alfred Nobel and the Peace Prize, and the history of Narges Mohammadi and her twin children. At the end of her performance, Angelina literally apologizes if she made us cry, then added, "...but you know what? We'll cry together..." because SHE was so emotional when she was singing.
