@@yesitsme8606 It was pretty awesome. Great layout, fair COF with multiple target directions on each stage, so you can never really get used to the wind direction, even on a single stage. I came in 14th out of 60, which is good for me. I'm shooting the 2-day match there in Feb, so wanted to see what it was all about. And finally, GREAT people.
@@The4GunGuy Thanks for the additional information. Congrats on placing 14th!! The question that i had from watching the video is , with all those ranges, how do they regulate Hot and Cold and target changes??
@@yesitsme8606 Like at my home range in Navasota, the range is always "hot". Target changes are done during off days/hours when the range is closed. It's so nice not having a "cease fire" being yelled every 20 minutes when shooting at ranges like these. If a stoppage during a match is needed, the RO will drive the range and yell out to the squads shooting to cease fire or the range is cold.
I look forward to checking them out!! My range I am building to open to the public is tactical based only, run and gun, so it's nice to have somewhere to stay on top of my sniping skills!!
I kid you not I heard guys on this range firing almost every morning during my hunts this season. No I'm not mad. I love hearing the steel ring in the morning! I just thought it was cool to find this on my "recommended page" when my hunting spot is just over one of these berms.
Thanks, I will be going with Arick Souvanna (He has taken me to a couple of Pro/Am PRS matches to compete. (Gap Grind and Texas Precision) He has been trying to teach me (hard job ;-) @JakeGraves-x8i
This looks great!! Thanks for sharing. I am in the southwest corner of Oklahoma. Looks like this is just outside of Ft. Worth. I am adding this to my list now! I have been doing local PRS matches to learn the basics, and this coming year I am wanting to make it to some of the sanctioned matches at Fouled Bore in Ninnekah, OK and this place looks like one I should definitely try to make it to. Hey, if you do PRS also, you might want to check some of my recent videos from this month. I am going to be doing a challenge in the spring kinda like Erik Cortina's Blackjack. 500 yard KYL rack, but run more like a PRS stage where you will have to move positions after each plate. Using 2 prone positions on the sides of my PRS Skills stage prop I built for my range. I will get all the details planned out through the winter months and do it in the spring when the days are longer and I can get several people out at once. Might be fun and you are not too awfully far away! Figured I would mention it to you.
@WillE454 Yeah, I have them on my list and Ninnekah this year. I work in the motorcycle industry. Most shops like mine are Tuesdays thru Saturdays, so these other places have Saturday matches. Means I have to take a day off work. I am weird, I don't like to miss work🤣 But, this is my next step up to improve my game. Gotta get to new places and more ranges. I will likely wait for spring! My hands don't do well in the cold!! Would suck to drive farther and perform terribly because of cold hands. I need all the advantages I can get when I go to a new place🤣 Thanks for letting me know that Battle Springs is good though! Now it is for sure on my list for this year. I may need to check this out. I shoot a lot of rimfire. I like to shoot centerfire longrange too but im not wealthy. It is a little difficult to really shoot longer range rimfire at the range im a member at now.
Hoping there's a pistol only membership for the bays at some point. 😀 I'd like to get outdoors but 25 bucks vs. 55 (x4) for me is a big delta.... oh and Plus 4x 150 initiation. So my first day to the range with my family is $820. 🙄
So. I guess i will find out when I go, but if you pay an annual membership, are you still paying to shoot each day you go? Like $900 annual and if I go 3 days this week, I pay $55 each time?
@@texas22jack89 Awesome! Some place charge annual fees, then give you discount whenever you get a lane, so wanted clarification! Will definitely swing by when new rifle comes in. Really appreciate it!
Since they are fairly new they are working on getting it on google maps. I spoke with them about it yesterday, and they are in the process but google is giving them a hard time.
$900 a year plus a $150 initial fee? Hard pass. Private clubs like Haltom City or Arlington Sportsman's Club or Parker County Sportsman's Club are a 4th the price. I don't care how nice it is.
@@texas22jack89I can’t wait to check the place out. I was fairly regular at Triple C and currently shoot multigun at TDSA. I actually think the way y’all did it with requiring a membership to get even day passes was intelligent. A small barrier to entry keeps the bar a little higher for the range. Since I shoot elsewhere and the range is over an hour and a half away, I’ll be sticking to the day rate. Question. If I have a membership and do the day rate, can I bring a couple friends with the buddy pass? Or is it only one guest allowed? Edit: Just realized I’m not watching the range’s RUclips channel lol.
@@blakerogers6806 We appreciate your understanding. To answer your questions directly, yes, you may absolutely bring out friends on the buddy pass. Your membership will get you one free buddy pass and additional may be purchased. This is to allow new shooters the opportunity to see firsthand what we have to offer. Once a person uses a buddy pass, their next visit out would require membership. Thank you for your interest. -Jake Graves, Owner
@@JakeGraves-x8i That’s totally fair. I’ve got quite a few buddies who are not into comps, but would love to spend a day at a range like yours, especially with the mix of ranged areas and bays. Taking someone to an outdoor range where they can actually shoot instead of poking holes into paper at 25 yards is a ball. Look forward to meeting you, and be on the lookout for my membership application.
Well, $60 ea. time, plus membership. It seems like setting g prices per range used would help the average shooter. If I am only going to shoot 22s, why pay for ranges I'm not going to use. As far as distance, it's not a bad drive, and puts me back in my old stomping grounds
If you are shooting multiple times a month, it is a better deal to do monthly or annual payment structure. The longer term that you commit for, the cheaper the price. I have the price structured to allow access to the entire range as there is no way to separate the ranges.
I am not the video creator but have always wondered why. You see everyone's license plate driving around so what is the difference in videoing it? Serious question...
@JakeGraves-x8i it's advised to blur pii in social media and YT videos. That's SOP. I'm not saying anything new or outlandish. The range looks great, btw.
ETTS is a great range especially if you live closer to that area; $50 a day at gravestone might be a little more expensive but you have access to everything including PRS barricades. The $40 at ETTS gives you a limited access.
And the $150 fee is fair, considering there's a background check and orientation involved. The chances of someone shutting down the range because of their stupidity is less. For me I'm willing to pay that $150 initial fee so that the range is there long-term.
150 bucks to join. nearly 60 for just one days shooting? I'll stick with B Tactical. Too many places are making things too "gucci". Kinda like deer leases that most anyone could afford and now a bad lease is still 1500 per gun.
@texas22jack89 we have a few further east. Way more expensive rmthan this tho. 4 digits just to get into thevone on 205 between terrell and rockwall...plus daily fees. Another was in the trinity bottoms. Concerts. Food. You name it. I prefer some place thats to the point and affordable....not just for doctors and lawyers.
Gravestone may be too gucci for some but I don't see anything wrong with that; they are focused a lot on PRS positional shooting which is a fast growing sport and caters to a lot of demographics, not just doctors and lawyers. I am neither one of those, just a regular joe. Looking at the bigger picture: any new ranges (Gucci or not) is a big win for the 2nd amendment and preserving it for the future.
