Dude thanks so much for making and comprehensive guides. I was always super casual in T7 and I'm really into T8, just playing ranked off and on and playing with some friends in the local scene here in my city. My Raven has gotten so much better because of you, and now that I can finally wavedash in a real game thanks to this video, it feels like the cherry on top to better learn the game and fundamentals every day. Keep on doing amazing stuff man!
You have no idea how important your Raven content is to me. I've always wanted to check out the character & Tekken 8 was the perfect opportunity. Thank you for your content!
OH MY GOD, I literally just asked about this in your previous video when you talk about how to do it on hitbox because I'm using pad and arcade stick interchangeably. THANK YOU SO MUCH, MAN. APPRECIATE IT. THIS IS REALLY HELPFUL. GOD BLESS U, MY FRIEND.
Ravens, if you’re still having issues with this tech you can also change your right analog to left analog. This allows you to sidestep cancel your wavedash by flicking up on the right analog then continue your wavedash. Dash, flick, dash, flick etc…
Omgg I was practicing the double ff3 into the qcf1,2 for like 3 hours and I only hit it like twice and I was so confusedd. The content came thru!! I needed this😂😂
I still can’t get it but imma keep practicing it. Please keep up the good work I’m maining raven and I’d love to have a go to for info and play style knowledge
You know, i was watching some Pinya, GoAttack and JDCR Raven gameplay, and i think they all went for the easier combo variant (using soulzone 3 for tornado). Perhaps they havent just havent practiced enough for the optimal combo yet but i thought that was interesting.
This is super interesting and a very important video imo. I've always found Raven to be easier played on pad, but I can't play my other mains like Yoshi and Eddie on pad at all. I have to plug in my stick between games when I play with friends 😂
Damn i know ive asked you how to wd before with raven when you had the master raven tutorial years back. I still cant do it haha, but thats on me, seeing the controller in action is super helpful man. Gon try it again! Thanks!
I was trying to find a main in Tekken 8 as it is my first Tekken. Tried out 10 characters and narrowed it down to either Jun or Raven. I couldn't decide on either, so I just made their CPUs fight for the spot. The CPU Raven won the FT3 so now Im a Raven main.
This is really helpful! but I'm having trouble after the initial crouch step. I do what you say in the video and return to neutral quickly and do d,df but i just kind of crouch there. Maybe the timing is very strict idk what I'm doing wrong. But thanks for these videos they've been a big help with me learning tekken/raven as a new player.
Been playing tekken on pad since 7, and currently is playing raven on pad. The combos on pad aint too hard. But i do occasionally drop them during matches, or forget my combos. The wave dash is very helpful. Howver i prefer using analog rather than Dpad.
does the QCF1,2 have to be frame perfect? everytime i practice it i either get jabs or the QCF1,2 comes out and tornadoes them but it counts a pickup, not part of the combo
Nice. That's how I do it. I learned it very late in tekken 7. But I'm no master at it. I'm still working to refine it better. But I'd love video on what's the best way to play him. Here is an example: Should we be up close with strings, should we use 50/50 mix ups a lot, should we use more of a defensive poke oriented play style? Or try and and play keep out? What play style is this version of Raven best at? A video explanation on this topic from you would be extremely good.
Expert tutorial! I learned a lot from this and I use your videos as guides on how to play Raven. When are you streaming on Twitch? Looking forward to it 😄
Definetly need this. Ty very much for this. I have a question. How do you get wr/full crouch moves out of a crouch step? I am having trouble trying to mix between his qcf, wr and full crouch moves. It's not giving me what i want consistently. Hope you can help. Love the video
Great! This is a really informative video. Please, can you also do this for fight stick as well? I've been playing Master Raven and now Raven in T8 and one of the things I struggled with was being about to do this consistently. I always looked at Maven players who did this with envy. It would be deeply appreciated if you could!
Hey! I love your raven content! I use both mixbox and stick and I'm making the same mistakes for the qcf+1,2 after the 3rd f,f+3 combo on both controllers. It feels like more of a timing issue so maybe you could elaborate more on that aspect? I also just watched a mirror match between Pinya and Go_Attack and one (or both?) of them would sometimes drop this combo too and eventually just resorted to the simpler variations. The timing seems very specific because if you do it too fast, the jab comes out and if too slow, they can tech roll and the window for it seems strict.
yeah it’s pretty strict to be honest but the timing is just after ff3 recovery and cannot be buffered. It’s just a matter of inputting qcf12 quickly after it
Would you to do a tutorial for Nina’s butterfly loop on DPad like this too? I play both Nina and Raven so thanks for this video and all videos concerning Raven!
BIG question for ya. How do you know when you've canceled the crouch dash? I wanna use it to mix in full crouch buttons, and while rising stuff and atm i cant control what in getting.
it looks better, i also think the command history is confusing and there’s no colour to the buttons. It’s better to see what i’m doing visually. I did this in tekken 7 with no hand cam and command history on and it didn’t help… so im switching it up
Hey I need some advice. I’m pretty new to fighting games and never played a tekken game before. I think I wanna main either raven or devil Jin. I have an arcade stick from street fighter as well as a ps5 controller. I’m wondering what should I learn tekken with? Is pad better for certain characters? Thanks
