Zoro is really cool, and I dig his design and the choices that surround his character, like how he uses the sword of his friend last when he needs that extra help in battle and how he holds it in his mouth because of the verbal promise he made to her. That's a really good, unique, and interesting touch. The people or person who designed the characters deserve a pat on the back, and so do the designers and actors and also writers on the show for bringing the characters to life in a mostly accurate way.
@@islandboy9381 | @roronoauchiha69 | The designers could have drastically switched up the character designs in the show if they wanted to, which is why i said they deserve credit for keeping things accurate. The OST for this series slaps really damn hard. The musician playing the Spanish Guitar in this episode had some Devil Fruit musician powers.....holy hell that was insane musicianship.
One Piece world building and amount of characters introduce even after each arc still impacting the present story is mind blowing... 20 years and still all this characters are well used!
If you want to see this episode in the anime, it's episode 24. The whole fight happens in that episode. It's really good. The voice acting hits harder in the anime. Japanese voice actors are amazing.
i was surprised to find out that the japanese voice actors from the anime did the dub for this series. hearing the original voices on this show just makes it hit differently.
@@Mohamad-m7mdBecause little Sanji did a very kid thing: he stated the obvious. Children have a tendency to blurt out exactly what they’re thinking because they don’t have a filter yet.
Loved the eps ... wouldn't say Luffy was abused...rather strong handed so he could adapt and be stronger because his grandpa wanted him to be a marine and that's why he's as strong as he is right now
There is no reason to drag stuff out because there are over 1000 episodes to adapt. They are actually rushing through the story. These 8 episodes go over 60 episodes of the anime. It's true that for a lot of stuff, it is good that they cut it out but they also cut out nice characters and plotlines that make the story a lot better...
Still amazing how this turned out. Netflix should've gave them ten episodes to flesh out the characters more. They could've also ended it in logue town if it had more eps
I love how Sanji goes from "Prince Charming Polite & Nicest Backstreet Boy Lady Killer" to the rudest, most violent IED who curses like a sailor lmao 😂 Anime Sanji is also like that. One moment ha's the perfect example of a truly chill, nice guy and the next he goes off with severe anger issues. Like a true line cook lol
A very subtle detail that is overlooked is the absolute massive meal that Garp was eating, further solidifying his relation and similarities to his grandson Luffy
5:37 They might have been going for that, but others reckon it sounds more Southern London (there are a lot of accents in London). The actor playing Sanji, Taz Skylar, he was born in and grew up in the Canary Islands in Spain so he speaks Spanish fluently, his dad's Lebanese and his mum's English (from Yorkshire), so he also speaks English fluently. He's spent the last few years in London, he wrote and starred in and off-West-End play (like Off-Broadway) called 'Warheads' that got nominated for an Olivier Award (Englands equivalent of the Tony Awards). Turns out he actually learned kickboxing and took cooking lessons just for this role.
with one piece netflix really doesn't have a reason to stretch out thingstoo much seeing as the original source material is so densely packed with rich storytelling + it already has 26 years on them in length. imo netflix actually has the opposite problem which is how do we fit all these dense arcs into just 8 episodes of running time. i think they found a very good balance. this is what happens when the source material is rich enough to carry itself, no reason to drag. btw this fight is also very short in the og series as well, mihawk really lays zoro down in under an episode and we pretty much see it play out the same way in runtime too. but damn the live action is really quite astonishingly good. though it's hard to express to new fans just how much even better the original series is. every emotion and cool scene is like amped up to the max. i really do hope new fans who got moved by this live action will end up starting the series too from the beginning bc the og story is even richer and without limits of medium. anyways, another great reaction from you guys. i love every time you post these!
I can watch Sanji's introduction on a repeat. Taz Skylar learnt cooking and kicking for the character. And Mihawk is just straight 1:1, Steven John Ward. By the way Mihawk appears in Ep23 instantly out of nowhere. So its not a drag in anime terms.
23:11 You wish. In the manga this fight took place in chapter 51, released August 3, 1998 - 25 years ago. We're up to chapter 1091 now, and still waiting.
Mihawk is known in the anime as Hawk Eye....kinda his nick name...and this actor was absolutely a splitting image of him, he was perfect in look and action...another thing they never mention in the live action is that Zoro doesn't just use 3 swords, he does what's called 3 sword style which he always tells his opponents if they mock him, he says its different than just using 3 blades, it's a technique. I will not mention why Mihawk is so powerful, because I don't wanna spoil it, but it is not a devil fruit, that's all I will say...lol
Mihawk really just pulled a Sagat on Zoro. (also, it was funny to see most of the shots of their fight being all sunny, and some being all cloudy and gray. You could tell they've been shooting this fight for a few days, which is understandable, it was quite an elaborate choreography)
The thing to know about Luffy is that while he obviously wanted Zoro to win, dreams are things you stake everything on, including your life. Luffy didn’t think he’d lose, but even if he died Luffy would have said “He died chasing his dream. Not letting him pursue his dream would have been much much worse”. He might lament the outcome, but he’d never forgive himself for stopping Zoro.
"Let's build this world more" Thats one reason why people adore one piece. The main arguments against the anine version is pacing, animation, and its too goofy at times. The thing is One piece has charm and most western anime fans just want complete edge 24/7. The cool thing about Odas writing is because he understands how to make people feel the characters pain.
@@Dave_of_Mordor It's always been 1 or 2 heartfelt moments per arc I think he's still doing it just not always with the Strawhats, People love Corazon In Dressrosa, Sanji's Wholecake arc, Oden and Gold D. flashback is also very emotional in Wano, people wil probably be bawling for Kuma's sacrifice.
@@Gyork_ I agree with corazon, but not with Sanji or Oden. For the Sanji story I did feel bad for him, but I was more interested in where Oda would go with his character than his backstory. As for Oden, I don't really see anything emotional about his flashback. To be honest, wano is one of my least favorite arc and the flashback was one of its highlights along with the joyboy df reveal, but I don't see anything emotional about it. The only two things that stand out to me emotionally post time skip are the corazon and fisher tiger stories.
Zoro vs Mihawk is like Mouse vs Tyrannosaurus Rex 😂😂😂 Until this day, we don't even know what's Mihawk's power ceiling and what he is truly capable of.
6:57 that’s bogard. He’s an extremely background character only the biggest fans of the anime know. He had no lines in the manga and if you asked casual watchers if they knew him they’d probs say he looks family but not sure where from. His character is supposed to be a discrete character

@@islandboy9381 | @roronoauchiha69 | The designers could have drastically switched up the character designs in the show if they wanted to, which is why i said they deserve credit for keeping things accurate.
I also said the creator and/or creators of One Piece deserved props to for originally creating the characters' designs. "The people or person who designed the characters deserve a pat on the back"
@@yotuel9064 | That is a fun fact. Thanks for letting me know!
The OST for this series slaps really damn hard. The musician playing the Spanish Guitar in this episode had some Devil Fruit musician powers.....holy hell that was insane musicianship.
Noticed that almost all react channel put Mihawk on the cover of their 5th episode video 😂 That’s just great
One Piece world building and amount of characters introduce even after each arc still impacting the present story is mind blowing...
The original Japanese actor for mihawk wasn’t the best the remake version of that episode is way better
The way they did Sanji’s backstory was cool to see in live action
Yeah but I Don’t know why when Sanji told zeff
“ you ate your own leg ? “ it was funny
@@Mohamad-m7mdBecause little Sanji did a very kid thing: he stated the obvious. Children have a tendency to blurt out exactly what they’re thinking because they don’t have a filter yet.
the one piece reactions have been golden and all but i just want to say that intro killed me i was not expecting any of that LMAO
"This show make want to watch the anime"
That's exactly what an adaptation should be able to do
Loved the eps ... wouldn't say Luffy was abused...rather strong handed so he could adapt and be stronger because his grandpa wanted him to be a marine and that's why he's as strong as he is right now
And here comes one of the most badass character in one piece even after 1000+ eps and chaps ,he is still there!
I was honestly shocked how well they were able to condense the entire first season into 8 episodes
Still amazing how this turned out. Netflix should've gave them ten episodes to flesh out the characters more. They could've also ended it in logue town if it had more eps
They adapted more from the manga though
@@chikaraou
Doesn’t matter they still cut the same things that were in the manga
Going forward, 10 eps per season would do the pacing a favor
This show perfectly illustrates the difference between a Netflix show and a Netflix show where the creator kept creative control over his IP.
I love how Sanji goes from "Prince Charming Polite & Nicest Backstreet Boy Lady Killer" to the rudest, most violent IED who curses like a sailor lmao 😂
Anime Sanji is also like that. One moment ha's the perfect example of a truly chill, nice guy and the next he goes off with severe anger issues. Like a true line cook lol
When Luffy said, "You could never fail me."
.. I felt that 😭
Right? 😭💖💕💖💕
Im loving these reactions, its a lot of fun to see the perspective of fans who are completely new to One Piece
A very subtle detail that is overlooked is the absolute massive meal that Garp was eating, further solidifying his relation and similarities to his grandson Luffy
I love that the 2 most replayed parts are Mihawk's intro and the reveal of the knife.
Mihawk's "Magnificent" line is my new orientation
every episode is better than the last one, love this show and im having so much fun with your reactions.
I like the conversation between Coby and Garp. Shows you who Garp really is and what he's standing for.
1:24 Nope, he is his real grandfather. Vice Admiral Monkey D. Garp.
I'm so ready for that mandatory heart wrenching Sanji backstory. Just give it to me so it's over!
with one piece netflix really doesn't have a reason to stretch out thingstoo much seeing as the original source material is so densely packed with rich storytelling + it already has 26 years on them in length. imo netflix actually has the opposite problem which is how do we fit all these dense arcs into just 8 episodes of running time. i think they found a very good balance. this is what happens when the source material is rich enough to carry itself, no reason to drag.
btw this fight is also very short in the og series as well, mihawk really lays zoro down in under an episode and we pretty much see it play out the same way in runtime too.
but damn the live action is really quite astonishingly good. though it's hard to express to new fans just how much even better the original series is. every emotion and cool scene is like amped up to the max. i really do hope new fans who got moved by this live action will end up starting the series too from the beginning bc the og story is even richer and without limits of medium.
anyways, another great reaction from you guys. i love every time you post these!
16:33 Greg calls it in the most hilarious fashion 😂😂😂
"...Nnnaaah" 🤣
This show is so much FUN!!!
i was a fan of one piece before the live action so watching it i loved pointing out the similarities and differences and the casting
The Zsanji/Zoro dynamic is what the Cad Bane vs Boba Fett should've been!!!Great episode!!!
I love your reactions and both of your energies😀
E5
07:05 Mihawk intro
10:40 7 warlords info
18:55 Mihawk Vs Zoro
The reason Sanji was so happy to see the "IOU" written in, is because he knew it'd piss Zeff off, which of course made him very happy
Two of zoros swords are shattered by mihawk but the Wado ichimonji sword didnt break because it's one of 21 great grade swords in onepiece world
Can't trick me I know what you doing I know what you doing😂😂😂😂😂😂
I’ve caught up with your reactions and loving them, I freaking loved this series and the characters are great!! Luffy is sooooo endearing ❤
Yeah, I still have to meet the fan that didn't cry for a ship.
He hasn't been doing that lately. In fact, I say he kind of lost his touch after the time skip. Everything is more DBZ combat focused now.
Bruh that beginning was hilarious 😂 "youre not robbing me are you?"
Sanji doesn't use his hands in combat because a chef always needs his hands. I think his fighting style is my all time favorite out of the straw hats.
In the anime they did it better because they left out a few fights but still love this adaptation of baraite arc
Zoro vs Mihawk is like
Mouse vs Tyrannosaurus Rex 😂😂😂
Until this day, we don't even know what's Mihawk's power ceiling and what he is truly capable of.
As a one piece stan these reviews have been amazing to watch!
I like that they dialed back Sanji a lot because he is more like a Jiraiya from Naruto, or Mineta from MHA.
"Hello, Six Flags... I think I can save your company." Lol
He said “your not robbing me are you” 😂 the goats
6:57 that’s bogard. He’s an extremely background character only the biggest fans of the anime know. He had no lines in the manga and if you asked casual watchers if they knew him they’d probs say he looks family but not sure where from. His character is supposed to be a discrete character
"We're 10 minutes in and we have an introduction to 3 cool new characters!" :dies: "...2 cool new characters."
Sanji's accent is a mix between English (not sure where exactly) and the Canary Islands--and it's the actor's natural accent, too.
The pacing is always going to be crazy. They'd need like 15 seasons at the pace of the manga and they prob have to plan for 5 or something.
