    Because of using a small kitchen, simple ingredients, and no “gadgets”, many of your recipes are readily adapted to camper/RV/caravan cooking. Thank you! For baking I can use my big three-legged Dutch oven in coals.

    Been poaching sausages for years, cant remember where i picked it up from....my old nan used to make something like this when i was a kid was a fantastic budget meal, perfect meal to come home too from the school on a winters day....going to make it this week, thanks fir the memory there....🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⌚🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⌚

    I’ve got a similar recipe but you fry thin pork chops, and besides salt and pepper, it’s a creamy mustard,cheese, and yogurt sauce. Can’t wait to try your version

    Oh I really have to try boiling sausages don't think i've ever seen anyone else do this but it looks like a great method to stop them going to mush in various dishes.

    I'm definitely trying this! My food hating husband actually likes Cumberland sausages, even though they aren't a big thing here in Aus. I think he would actually enjoy this. In fact, I'm going to the supermarket right now to get some. Dinner tonight, sorted!

    I have been making Scalloped Potato Gratin with left over Ham for years. I have always put my onion and potato in raw. I like the idea of caramelizing the onions first. I will have to try it with Sausages now. Thanks.

    Love potatoes Au Gratin (Scalloped is with no cheese here). Mom made it with leftover ham. For fresh sausages we only have little breakfast links, Italian, Chicken with apple, and Brats. Had Brats once and remember them being less intense in flavor than breakfast sausage and Italian... do you think Brats would taste good in this?? Probably a stupid question cause what doesn't taste good in a cheese sauce (except breakfast links). Love that this again is not fussing with roux and a Bechamel sauce. You make everything seem so simple, Chef! Shirley in NH

    Your recipes are very versatile. I tried using the Knorr's beef bouillon with a roast I made three weeks ago and my son really enjoyed the flavor, as well as myself. I usually make a gravy and add it. Thanks.

    I just made this myself yesterday. I didn't pay attention to the oven cooking time and it came out runny. I stuck it back in and it was a bit thicker...lol All in all it didn't stop us from all having seconds. I can't wait to try this again! I did run out of potatoes, no big deal, but what size of baking dish did you use? Thanks so much!

    Hi Rik just to let you know I made this today for the clan for lunch and it not only tuned out delicious but it was scoffed with great gusto😃 we thought as it so rich with the cream and cheese that we would have a healthy fruit salad for afters,lol but we had French full cream creme friache😳 so thanks again for your recipes Rik.     I've made more than a few of your dishes and love them all. I'm wanting to try this one but am unsure of the sausages you're using. I had some cumberland sausages made locally and they had to get a recipe online for them. There's a bunch of different recipes online for cumberland sausage so they just picked one. They are red not white. What makes the sausage white? I mean I'm still going to make it with the sausage I have but am just wondering about those white ones.

    Any gratin is a good gratin. This recipe looks delicious, thanks Rik....Side Note: If you have never had turnips au gratin, you're missing out in life :)
