The hole in the floor reminds me of some kind of tomb you see in a museum. You should fill it with soil, add lights and put all the things that have snapped, broken (frames, forks, helmets) or almost killed you! I also love your videos and love to see what you guys get up to!
Matt you should make a mini set of trails from the playground inside the trough and frame it and cover it with perspex. Love the new workshop cant wait to see what comes next
Some acoustic panels on the walls would help and make filming audio much better as you use this space. Also I think you should use that trough as a planter and get some greenery in the room (even if fake plants) and maybe add some chairs for a bit of a lounge. Otherwise i'd keep it open so you have tons of room for bikes and people. So sick Matt!
Hey Matt, heres the run down of what I feel would be great addition you your barn/ shop. If you stand facing your Park Tool wall, dedicate the entire left wall wall to an air brushed mural of Ben and Jaime. It could feature all the defining monents and backdrops of thier progression over the years. Other 2 walls in shop could be some crazy grafitti art of your favorite locations to ride. Next, I suggest to have the current pictures you have hanging in the area under the stairs be blown up into wall murals in black and white the re-install some on the entire walls floor to ceiling. Use the remaining pictures the same way upstairs in the drop in area. Lastly, install a space heater in the floor where the feed chute is now unsused. cover it with a custom laser cut grate. Thanks for the awesome channel. I've destroyed my body doing what I love and now I'm uncapable of doing anything really fun on a bike. I now live my MTB dreams through you guys. You were the first channel I subscribed to on You Tube. Keep up the good work! Kuddos to Ben and Jaime, they're pretty bad ass too.
Painting the walls white will make a huge difference, then add heating, surround sound, comfy chairs and foosball table in the open space. Big ass plants in the trough. Job done. Smashed it gents 💪🏻
Matt you 100% deserved this not just because of your amazing career but mainly cos your actually just a really nice bloke. The 3 of you are so good as a team. Cannot wait to see what the future holds. Well done fella 👏
Few ideas for the trough.. 1. A screen playing a loop of a bunch of your comps, crashes and projects 2. A bunch of memorabilia encased in resin 3. (Somewhat less practical or realistic) a fish tank
I think with the grain trough you should fit lights in the bottom, add mementos and cool memorabilia and then fill it with clear resin. It would make for an awesome bit of unique lighting that would be personalised to you - it would also serve as a bit of a time capsule that you could always see.
Also, he could just place some plexiglass plate on top instead of doing resin, this way he could adjust the display as years go by. Also, he could place a hidden safe in there. But a hidden safe that everyone knows about is probably not that useful.
Maybe change out the big door for one that seals up properly and put in a couch and TV. For the trough thing Maybe an oddly placed tiny fish pond lol. Can't wait to the progress. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy the ride
Trough/hole idea: Put a little spade or shovel in it and write BOOM underneath. Then cover it with plexiglass or plastic and add some explosion themed lights. Could be a fun easter egg for those of us that have been watching for a long time.
Yep, great idea: shovel in trough filled with primo dirt with cartoon BOOM! & nuclear mushroom cloud backdrop mural. Doesn't need to be a permanent fixture, can just be where your shovels & spades sit until needed again, that way you get to BOOM! each time you return them.
You've got The Playground, this should be called The Playhouse! Also, throw some rollers in the trough for a stationary bike trainer / in-shop test bed!
For the trough you should put glass on the top with lights inside and have like a mini bike scene in with finger bikes and dirt jumps or a skatepark etc
Looking forward to seeing what comes of the whole barn, a skatepark sounds amazing. I reckon painting the walls/plastering them with a nice bright colour (or just plain old white) to brighten the place up. You could also insulate it so you're not burning money trying to heat it over winter. How about building a little coffee bar as well in all that big space, walk through the door, theres the bar on the left, stairs on the right.
Paint? Maybe, but it also has a nice rustic look, maybe leave some and paint some. Insulation is probably not really worth it, with mild english winters you can probably do fine without heat for a few hours of tinkering (at least that has been my experience in Germany with similar climate). Of course it would be nice, but not worth installing a heating system or insulation for if it's just for private use.
That trough in the floor dude needs some indoor plants, would look super cool amongst all that metal and coolness 🤟✨ Cheers to you 🤟🎶

So it took this many years to finally get Matt to do voiceovers to an episode! Farm is another very unexpected but excellent addition to your channel contents!
If you build a slopestyle course on the farm, on top of everything else, you could host slopestyle events, maybe even some FMB or Red Bull things. It's like the dream location for anything. People could hang out in the farm, session the skatepark, and then drop in for some slopestyle or trails laps. This project is insane, and I'm really excited to see where it goes!
Hey Matt, I’ve been watching your videos, and they’ve brought me so much joy during some tough times. I’ve always dreamed of having a bike like yours to feel that same freedom and excitement, but I can’t afford one. It would mean everything to me if you could help make that dream come true. Thanks for inspiring me to keep going.
I don’t even own a bike but I live my childhood dreams vicariously through your videos. So sick to be able to do all that you do as a result of something you love. Hats off to you. Proper humble guy. And love the relationship you boys have!
I actually love all the side project/building videos you put out. This has my OCD going crazy with loads of ideas of how to tweak it all. As all the memorabilia is in here, you should have a sofa so you can just sit there and soak it all in. Plus a table tennis table or pool table maybe will just top it for for when there is many people. Much love
You guys have outdone yourself’s on this one, months of progress in just 15 minutes. Seeing it all come together was a pleasure to watch. The voiceovers tied it all togethers. Just amazing. Keep living the dream, much love
Put mini models of dirt jumps that you’ve built such as the hood old lock down jumps and for the future the playground also add the airbag jumps too and put some small lights and put double glazing so you can still walk on it Matt this would be such a cool piece I would be more than happy I would be ecstatic to do it for you
Looks sick. It does sound a little hollow tho so it might be a good idea to put up some foam panels. that would be cool as decoration as well. Keep up the work🙌
Matt your living most of our dream life’s!!! Buzzing for you and couldn’t happen to a more decent guy!!! Really looking forward to seeing the farm un fold!!!
MATT HEAR ME OUT!! Since you love building jumps and obstacles, Why not build an aerial view of a miniature bike course in the trough!! make some mini dirt jumps/obstacles, put some LEDs in there, and then put a really thick clear “glass” to cover it. I think it would be a fun little challenge for you to make some miniature jumps, I think it would be unique and something that would set your garage apart from others.
That place is absolutely awesome!! You should mount a triple crown Ohlins folk in the trough and then back light it and cover it in perspex, that would look mint!!👌
Hi Matt, that looks so sick 🤟 but one issue that I found was security. You should definitely get a half decent lock on your rigs ( especially your dream hard tail build with diamond and sapphire top cap😂) There is a hell of a lot of valuable stuff in there, you should definitely keep it safe.
For the trough my immediate thought is plants or some type of water feature. How chill and relaxing that would be to sit in your shop with the boys and just admire everything with a cold one. The empty space by the wall would be a good spot for another tool box/work bench to “close off” the maintenance area or a couch. Just depends on the route you wanna go with it.
Lob a bit of fake planting (can't see you watering plants) in that trough which would break up the space and help with sound... sooo Zen! Loving the barn, wish I had as much room in my bike cave. Also, add a sofa space in that bit on the left when you walk in plus a TV... dream gains!
I think a lot of people have the same dream about owning a farm and converting it into a massive playground of dirt tracks. The hole in the ground should be mirrored on the sides of it angled with seem cool LED lighting and the a Perspex cover or even a stand on top so it lights up. The empty space you should invest in a foosball.
For the troff, dig down a bit deeper and put a cupboard there which u can then pull out of the floor and it can be filled with cleaning stuff or something else. Love the vids Matt keep them up!😂 You should also add some bifold doors between the workshop and your bikes
That trough/trench thing has to be a mucoff wash down pit! Love how you had a handrail on the roll in roof section... finally proof that you’re not a complete lunatic!
I would move the work stand closer to the work bench and tools. Maybe more towards the middle. To have easy access to everything you need while working on the bikes. Also make sure there is plenty of space around the work stands to move bikes around when needed. I'm a service tech at my local bike shop, and that's how I would set up the area. Good luck and keep being awesome!
Add a seating area w/coffee table. Make it a space that people can hangout in while bikes are being worked on. The grain trough could be some sort of planter box, add some green to the space! Will enjoy following along with these builds!
I wished you lived near Barcelona because all this building iniciatives you bring in make the community grow so much and are an inspiration of truly well build bike areas
Love this place. I think a bike wash station would be the best for the hole in the ground. Just move the helmets to the right side and the Workstand into the open spay, because you want to have space around your bike if you want to fix it. Love this place!
You could move those shelves & put a moto lift in the pit. so it sits flush with the ground. A true ride on, ride off work station for the pit bike 🔥🔥 killer shop Matt.
Cover the hole with perspex and add LED lighting. Could add more around the place in a recess. Pull out some of the old features of the barn. In the uprights maybe
Paint the walls white, it would make it look much bigger. Add a secret door from the loft to the skate park landing zone. In the troff add a shoe/gear cleaner or warmer/ dryer.
@Matt Jones you should plant a hedge or some other plant in the hedge! Put a UV light in that will keep it fed with light. Would be a fun outside in "houseplant" feel. It would also contrast well with the industrial look of the workshop.
Loving the shed you need to put a couch for chilling while working on your bikes and a TV in to play all your videos you have made and a Kick-Ass sound system in there
Be cool if you could get some chairs in the space and do some podcasts and talk about upcoming events, tools, parts and just mtb news. Can bring guests on as well and chat with them about success get more of an understanding into a pro riders life. And for a name it sort of looks like a Aircraft Hanger so “The Hanger” would be my pick if your thinking of names
Epic Matt. It needs a pool table. Dart board , sofa . And the troff could have a grate over it and you (well Jamie) could build some sort of heat source in it, basically a funky Fire place kinda thing ? Then up stairs could be a full on chill out , lazing area with giant tv, Sofas. Endless redbull and you can film the new Matt Jones podcasts from 😉 . Also you need a wheel that you can spin to decide what happens next . Viewers to suggest what goes on the wheel . 👍
This is a sick video. In the mindset of keeping it simple, I’d just add some plants into the trough, as mountain bikers we love the outdoors, nature, the bush, but we also love the mechanical side of fixing our bikes etc why not bring some nature into your mechanical space, it would be the icing on the cake to that awesome workshop. You could even gather some soil from a few of your iconic locations and use it to plant the plants.
For that old chicken feed/hopper thing in the ground. thats where you could put either 1. wifi and cable management. 2. a computer that could have multiple displays, or 3. a place to store all your portables( such as bike pump, tools, harnesses, and what not.) Also amazing job on the shop
The geek in me really would have liked to see this whole build as like a 10-15 part series 😂 that’s why I got into Harry Main’s videos to be fair, his garage build series. Looks sick matt. Cracking work lads
The trough needs a piece of hardened glass over it, you need a couch for mates to chill on and a massive red bull logo above the park tool bench on the wall. Trick looking fit out mate.
Love the new place Matt !!! I would paint the walls in the workshop or panel it with some checker plate sheet metal for that industrial look. Can't wait to see it finished?
The trough can be another cool showcase. Stick something in it you want to keep pristine, pop some downlighting LEDs in there and top it with toughened glass.
Deck the area your bikes are stored. Can have a step up from the workshop area, nice fancy wood, can recess the bike holder slots to be flush with the floor, and the trough can be a water feature.
Should add a computer and monitor so that you can reference manuals etc - some kind of couch for chilling - definitely a parts washer. Like the shop - we built a sliding , hanging rack for bikes in our basement - using a barn door rail and bike hooks.
Definitely need to add some sort of bike cleaning station! Possibly add a drain to the trough and add a mesh over it to use it for cleaning bike parts. Otherwise use some of the spare space for a cleaning area :)
With the hole in the ground you should clean it up and make it look nice. Once you have done that Chuck all your trophies in their and have a glass lid on it so it is like a trophy case in the floor. Thanks Matt ur a legend.
Imagine.... All that skill and potential.... and your running across jumps with bikes above your heads.... HAHA Love it!! Think you guys could have a laugh where ever you found your selves!!!!
The hole in the floor reminds me of some kind of tomb you see in a museum. You should fill it with soil, add lights and put all the things that have snapped, broken (frames, forks, helmets) or almost killed you! I also love your videos and love to see what you guys get up to!
Yes make it a graveyard
I like this idea!!
Love the idea
I was thinking the same, with a perpex lid. Would be cool
that is such a good idea
I love how Jamie has gradually progressed from a behind the scenes guy to one of the main characters
Reverse mythbusters
Matt you should make a mini set of trails from the playground inside the trough and frame it and cover it with perspex. Love the new workshop cant wait to see what comes next
that would be cool
RC dumper trucks and diggers required for sure 😂
This was what I was going to suggest too.
Yesss for sure
This one Yh
Unreal! Can’t wait for the content to see this place come to life, should get a sofa and a tv in there. Dartboard and a pool table would be cool
Some acoustic panels on the walls would help and make filming audio much better as you use this space. Also I think you should use that trough as a planter and get some greenery in the room (even if fake plants) and maybe add some chairs for a bit of a lounge. I was about to put some thing down well put.

I love how Matt takes run down things and turns them into something incredible. Memorising
Mesmerizing * not having a pop just teaching for the future bro
You mean like he did with Jono and the boys?
Like Ben 😂
Kinda sound sus

Flipping hell. Matt never fails to make me happy. He always inspires me to do more things

@@ManWalksDogs exactly, the details you explained make it perfect 💯
You've got The Playground, this should be called The Playhouse! Also, throw some rollers in the trough for a stationary bike trainer / in-shop test bed!
Love the new place, i reckon the bunker would be a sick name for the place and a led sign up above the workstation would look great
For the trough you should put glass on the top with lights inside and have like a mini bike scene in with finger bikes and dirt jumps or a skatepark etc
I was just coming to write the same thing! A mini bike track/jump track. Lighting to make it look cool with a glass top.
A model of the Playground lit up with a glass lid 🤔
add a chair or couch in the park tool area. I also like the idea of plants in the trough.
For the feed troff.. put some hardy green plants in it. It will make the room pop with the black flooring and tool bench👌
The moo
i was randomly watching and you mentioned my home land Lesotho, so glad you think of us that highly
Looking forward to seeing what comes of the whole barn, a skatepark sounds amazing.
I reckon painting the walls/plastering them with a nice bright colour (or just plain old white) to brighten the place up. How about building a little coffee bar as well in all that big space, walk through the door, theres the bar on the left, stairs on the right.
I was thinking exactly the same re the paint, needs brightening up a bit!
The brick wall is what makes the space epic. It’s character. It’s in a old barn.
Paint? Maybe, but it also has a nice rustic look, maybe leave some and paint some.
Insulation is probably not really worth it, with mild english winters you can probably do fine without heat for a few hours of tinkering (at least that has been my experience in Germany with similar climate). Ideea for the square hole in the shop… put a glassflor in it so its even with the flore and mut some fancy lights and cool stuff in it🤟🏽
Matt gets to do all of the dream projects I’ve always wanted to do… trails, jumps, bike park in a barn. This channel is everything I need in life. ❤ 👍
Hole in the floor should be a lit glass/perspex display cabinet.
Love your content. Keep it up.
For such an old shed, the end result is really awesome. It's nice to have everything in one place, hopefully no one breaks into your place!
Fill the trough with Clear resin and inset bike components that have a significant memory to you. Love the space though. Good for you Matt

Really impressive how you were able to consistently upload normal videos all while working on this place
Looks awesome Matt, a nice big sofa against the wall across from the bike work stand would be ace.
This is f**king sick cant wait for all the builds on this place.. Matt is the perfect example of hard work pays off
Looks sick. It does sound a little hollow tho so it might be a good idea to put up some foam panels. that would be cool as decoration as well. Keep up the work🙌

Congratulations Matthew. Hard work pays off.
Put some memorabilia in there, lights and fill with clear resin or a class top with frame 👌
Matt truly is living the dream, and as he should, he defo deserves it👊

The level of excitement I got when I seen the bmx was at a high. Can't wait for a bmx episode.
The place looks insane dude everyone's dream.
Bros buying every peice of land he sees😅
Matt's gonna buy another bit soon and turn it into a huge slip and slide compound, no hand rails needed..😄😄
Thats exactly what I'd be doing no doubt about it!🤙

Best bike cave ever ! Very jelly
That spot in the floor would be perfect for a little in ground terrarium to add some green space in there!
I love a workspace that you can move around so an island worktop in the middle would be good use of space
12:15 That hole could be used to make a miniature version of the skatepark in the barn. Add a glass top and it'll still be usable floor space.

Dream place! I hope you plan to put up some sound deadening materials over the work bench, shelves and framse to kill some of that echo.
Make the trough into a see through aquarium 😍😍😍 I think that would look sick. Or alternatively, you could make it into an epxoy resin art piece.
You should fill it with dirt from the playground then it’s all you accomplishments in one room. Looks amazing guys well done to all.
This is insane! So happy for you. I think a Pool or Billard table would be really fun to have in the shop!
We actually love jamie he seems like the best friend for every job you should do a big Jamie video for the legend I recon
In the uprights maybe
love the place -should paint the cinderblock walls a nice dark grey or something!
maybe put a tv in the workshop, always nice to have some music or a show playing while you work on stuff!
You could use it as a wheel/tyre storage and stand them all up in it love the farm. It looks sick

You are honestly living the absolute dream, in an outbuilding a foam pit or resi would be sick
Deck the area your bikes are stored. Can have a step up from the workshop area, nice fancy wood, can recess the bike holder slots to be flush with the floor, and the trough can be a water feature.
Clear epoxy 2 helmets on display nicely with a branded cap of yours as well, and talk about a dream setup well done
You should put a little garden in the troff with some bonsai trees . Brilliant vid .
