I am new to spear gun fishing and recently picked up the carbine, and despite what everyone on here is saying, it worked great for me and I would recommend it for beginners who are on a budget. I'm using it in fresh water in Arizona for bass at the moment, and its bagged me the biggest large mouth bass I've ever caught in my life (22 in 7 lb). The only problem I've had with it so far was the rock tip it came with fell off in the water and I was unable to recover it. The replacement cost over $50.00.
Dude go fuck yourself. Pricks like you go around killing all the big bass in ponds and lakes leaving the average catch and release fisherman screwed. What is your issue
My first speargun was a JBL 450XHD, I’ve owned it for 18 years and it still works flawlessly, ive taken some great fish with it. I do take it apart every few years to scrub down and grease the trigger mechanism. I also own a Riffe No Ka Oi and I find the aim point to be more consistent with the JBL. The Riffe is definitely sexier. Overall JBL guns are solid construction, shaft is unnecessarily heavy IMO.
i am a beginner spearfisherman and her is some feedback:I bought a jbl magnum custom speargun 3 months ago and the quality is pretty good since it gets very hot were i live however, my werst herts me a lot while holding the gun and also when i shoot the tip of the shaft starts to get loos and once the tip fell off .also i find it very hard to aim. jbl should build a thing that makes the aiming batter.but i dont know way a lot of people disrespact the company
I am just getting into Spearfishing, I purchased a JBL Competition Magnum (USED) and now I'm trying to figure out how to rig the gun to use. I've purchased bands but I am CONFUSED as to how to rig the shooting line (or shock line?) to the tip. I've been told that this gun has a range of about 20' on medium sized fish, so I am trying to find where to get help to CORRECTLY configure this. Can you make/post a Video on how to rig and configure these guns with different style JBL Tips?
I would be interested in watching videos showing how to rebuild the trigger mechanism ... I own a Magnum 38 special XHD which locked up after firing and thus put me in the position of needing to figure it out through sheer bloody minded stubborness ... as well as a videos showing things like good knots for shock cord and other various maintenance issues. I am teaching myself most skills, as there are not many spear fishers here in Canada, so any sort of instructional videos would be appreciated.
i owned 2 jbl guns. a sawed off woody with less than 5ft range and the trigger needs to be pressed while forcefully inserting the shaft. The other was the explorer. I simply shortened the rubbers and the trigger mechanism began to stick very often at the worst possible moments, incredibly frustrating
hey so i have been using a pole spear for a while now , but i feel i need to step up with my spear fishing , what would you recommend for a first time spear gun?
You guy need to try out Bleutec spearguns ;) Apart from some homemade wooden spearguns from croatia, they're the best. I own raptor and oceanborn. Wouldn't trade 'em for anything else. They even customize it for you if you want (trigger, shaft etc.)
If you write down feedback for the company I will happily pass it on to JBL. We are the production company that shot the promo, but work closely with JBL. They do value customer comments and opinions.
I second that emotion. Beuchat also makes good guns. I've got a Hammerhead Evolution 100 and a Beuchat Marlin 95 that are much better than anything JBL has put out. The best thing to do with a BBL gun is throw it in the trash.
Hey Scott, I am meeting with the owner of JBL in Sept, we can discuss some other video options. Sounds like a great idea, anything else you would want to see?
man u owned only one jbl that doesnt mean all their guns are the same. And maybe when u bought it u hadnt enough experience. Also i watched a video that shows great accuracy of a jbl.And also from my own experience its reliable it fall off my hand into rocks and sand nothing happend to it.however i wanted to buy a different brand like cressi also people started talking shit about cressi claiming that the shaft bends
i have two JBL's and Im disowning them. Got two riffes that just destroy the quality of JBL not to mention the mid handle Riffe No Ka Oi is longer than any JBL shaft with a relatively small stock. For "premier hunting" go with riffe, besides they dont tell you that JBL aluminum tubes scratch easily and oxidize, no wood guns do that. Also if you notice the muzzle of the woody's is a plastic cap, WTF?
i am not for the JBL's, i just said my opinion for the Cressi, as from my experience their trigger mechanism is very dangerous... the tube bends...and really not powerful at all.
By the way, don't let my opinion keep you from buying JBL crap. There are many reasons why JBLs are almost universally thought of as the bottom of the barrel when it comes to spearo gear.
Instead of trying to fix your JBL, invest your money in a better gun like a Beuchat, Hammerhead, Omer, MAKO, etc... Stop wasting your money on JBL crap.
haha just by watching this video it makes me laugh...guns like these used to be made 20 years ago...the technology has evolved and JBL seems to be a couple of decades behind..who would buy this crap seriously? ...watch some European guns and especially Greek or Italian that are the best in Europe right now..your mind will be blown away from what stuff they are producing...ill name a few brands (Idrotech, Abellan, Benthos, Trygons, C4, Bleutec) want more?
Keniath I know especially even omer and beuchat put out extremely accurate good powerful guns ( omer kanaloa or beuchat Marlin) that are better priced and laser accurate... JBL is so inferior
Cheap construction... they are inaccurate and weak... sorry bands and wishbones. Their spears are wide for their uses and are not interchangeable with superior guns...All around an inferior weapon that will only waste your money. I had one when I was ignorant to all of the better makes out there at similar prices... MAKO, HAMMERHEAD, CRESSI, OMER, RIFFE, BEUCHAT, WONG, KOAH... just to name a buttload of superior weaponry. Stick to JBL is you want to continue NOT spearing fish.

After a lot of research, I purchased a JBL Elite Woody for my first gun. Very much looking forward to learning the art and skill of spearfishing :)
Looks like you have filmed this at Longreef in Sydney, i look forward to seeing JBL in some of the Aussie stores!!
JBL should be in stores around Australia already check their Australian web page for more info

Is it same as JBL speaker company?
Can someone tell me how good the carbine is im trying to see if its worth the purchase!

Too expensive for me
How much the magnum version sir
hey you put a reel on a 33in carbine
If you write down feedback for the company I will happily pass it on to JBL. We are the production company that shot the promo, but work closely with JBL. They do value customer comments and opinions.
what the range on the carbine-super carbine and the explorer. Thanks
they had a sale there this past weekend lol. awesome deals.

toecutterx agree, hammerhead, beuchat, omer ,and torelli great brands that offer better priced durable and laser accurate guns
I'm looking for another speargun that has good range and power but rodent break the bank which jbl would that be
I'll stick with my Rob Allen 120cm Sparid thanks. These are boat anchors.
Hey Scott, I am meeting with the owner of JBL in Sept, we can discuss some other video options. Sounds like a great idea, anything else you would want to see?
how come i cant see the video
So is it possible to replace the explorer 24s line with wire? Please respond???!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
JBLs are good for shooting rocks and driftwood.
I've owned one and seen the rest of their stock. My opinion of their inventory of trash has not changed.
man u owned only one jbl that doesnt mean all their guns are the same.
JBL spearguns are the most durable guns I've used .And plus its American made
Aleczander Williams
I have to say the rest of there gear is great though.
Hey guys can you help me decide between a omer kanaloa or torelli tigon ?? PS I'm not buying any of jbls shitty guns
Only thing jbl a are known for is trigger mech probs
i have two JBL's and Im disowning them. Got two riffes that just destroy the quality of JBL not to mention the mid handle Riffe No Ka Oi is longer than any JBL shaft with a relatively small stock. ok if they are trash tell me why
By the way, don't let my opinion keep you from buying JBL crap. There are many reasons why JBLs are almost universally thought of as the bottom of the barrel when it comes to spearo gear.
Jbl is a joke. Koah is the best gun money can buy imo, all their guns are handcrafted to your specific desires by the owner himself
Super expensive tho... I prefer euro railguns like omer or beuchat or torelli... Not this JBL pieces of crap
abellan denton is the best speargun..
you'll probably miss or the gun will misfire
7777
shittttttttttttttt gunnnnnnnnnnnnnnsssssssss
I got some feedback tell them there guns suck and so does there customer service.
bombproof gun lol!

ugh, isn't that wetsuit way too big for that kid?
These spearguns are garbage and overpriced. Throwing my knife underwater would be more lethal than these potato guns.
haha just by watching this video it makes me laugh...guns like these used to be made 20 years ago...the technology has evolved and JBL seems to be a couple of decades behind..who would buy this crap seriously? ...watch some European guns and especially Greek or Italian that are the best in Europe right now..your mind will be blown away from what stuff they are producing...ill name a few brands (Idrotech, Abellan, Benthos, Trygons, C4, Bleutec) want more?

Cressi?!! those things are cheap crap!
No one buy these they are garbage!Buy a mako for the same price. The wooden ones they make are ok but the aluminium ones are garbage.
These guns are the garbage. Shame on sports chalet for trying to sell them lol
